Since when does Youtube require Gmail? I know you can use a Google account, meaning you don't need to use it for Gmail. But if you can't figure something out wait a few hours and try to make an account again. It won't ask you for a phone verification after a while. It's what I used to do when I wanted a new email.

I had to, in order to continue using my Youtube account.

 

When I input my password to log in, it goes to Google. Then I receive a text message with a code to input in Google.

 

Once that's done, I can acess Youtube with my account.
