Those developers aren't getting paid by people "finding" their games for free. >>

Unless you buy the games and make roms yourself it is.

I've heard that if you already own a copy of the game you have a rom for that it's supposed to be totally fine owo

If I ever got caught using an emulator, I'd just say that I had a hard copy of the game but lost it. :L They wouldn't really be able to prove otherwise.

 

Can't say I've ever known anyone who's got in trouble for using emulators though.

Emulation is legal ROMs are not

In the US

In Canada at least, it's legal to have a ROM if you already own the game

And a ROM isn't illegal until after 24 hours of having it

I have Pokemon Ruby and Chain of Memories on cartridge but I also have them on rom so I can emulate them on my phone and you know it more than likely is piracy but I really don't care, they are only gameboy/gba roms after all.
