'Tis the beginning of November, and so begins National Novel Writing Month, or the NaNoWriMo. Participants have one month to write 50,000 words, an exercise and creativity and time management. Note that the title is NaNoWriMos because I'm gonna be ballsy my first time and do two. I'm a writer who has enough free time on her hands to pull it off (or just to see if she can), and a desire to actually get something done. Anyway, the two ideas.

The first NaNoWriMo is a KH fic about a NaNoWriMo. Mmm-hmm. Since Sora's been absent from school all this time, he needs to make it up, and for his English class, he needs to write a 50,000 word story. Problem is, Sora isn't a writer and he's got a bit of an imagination, and Sora's story is told in a Stylistic Suck sort of way, while the parts taking place in the "real world" are told in my normal style. This is essentially a way for me to go back to my roots of just letting loose and having fun, coherency and logic be damned (at least in Sora's part of the fic).

The other idea is an original story and admittedly less developed, but I figure it has something to do with vampires, 'cause everyone likes them for some reason. The idea I have is that it stars two teenage vampires (either brother and sister or best friends, I haven't decided) rebelling against the common vampire conventions, which are pretty much anything in the YA section of a given bookstore. They just want to be themselves and don't care for what their families and society expect of them (mainly because they think it's totally stupid).

On this thread, at least, I'll be posting updates for the fic, since this is a KH fansite. It'd be easier to keep track of since the fic can be broken down into different, posted chapters on fanfiction.net, rather than the one great 50K+ word document I'd have to do for the original story. The plan for the fic is to have ten 5,000 word chapters, which seems long, but it's not much of a problem for me since I can be a very wordy person (*glances at length of this post*). It's the three chapters per week that might throw me off, especially since I also have the vampire story on my plate, but hey, that's why this is a challenge. An exercise in creativity and breaking down a big project into manageable components, while still dealing with other things I need to deal with. Like, y'know, university classes.

So yeah, challenge accepted, internet. YOU WILL NOT BEAT ME.

That will be interesting. I will keep my eye out for that.

Good luck with that. This year I'm planning a Birth by Sleep rewrite.

My first time doing it this year. :D Writing the first book in what I hope to be a trilogy.
