Well where to start, well first off, I have for a while now been wating to make videos and put them on youtube and stuff like Let's plays which is basicly me playing a video game and talking while I play them and maybe some other random videos and maybe latter one make videos to submit to Rooster Teeths Achievement Hunter Community where I would do like This is... which is talking about a video game and what not and some videos on how to get some Achievements/Trophies and what not. Like I said it's something I have been thinking about for a while now but the thing is I don't know what kind of stuff I would need to make that happen so what I'm trying to get at is what do you guys think I should use? I don't know I mean I would enjoy doing that but if I can't its well hey I can't but I would really like to do something like that just for the enjoyment of it so yeah.

Not all :3 PewDiePie and Tobuscus are like the top 2 gamers on YouTube and people enjoy the commentary. Two Best Friends Play also.

give a little commentary during my Let's Play just some random stuff and other things, I probably won't talking during cutsceens, I mean it would be pretty boring just watching someone play a game, I mean the only thing I don't like during lets plays is that some of them talk during cutsceans, but thats only one person I watch that dose that and I usually am only watching it because of him lol

well then i guess it depends on how you do the commentary. But when i looked at playthroughs i noticed alot of people commenting about how nice it was to have a walkthrough with no commentary

Balance is the key if you are going to talk. When the person is talking just because they think they're funny, it gets old pretty fast. Keep the talking to mostly informative, and only tell jokes if they're actually clever.

...Unless you are Tobuscus. Then you can talk all you want and say anything you want and everyone will love you forever and buy all your songs on itunes. He just has a way with talking, I guess.

Yea I watched RE6 without any commentary but the guy was doing stupid pointless things -.- So I don't always see those as great without them talking and explaining what in the world they are doing ._.

Or if you are any of the guys from Rooster Teeth or LtMkilla

I use Xsplit to record game videos. It will automatically upload to my twitch and I can edit it on the fly if I want to.

I don't intend to upload game videos to youtube unless I'm really commited to making video commentaries. It's not easy making gaming commentary like that. Sure you get inspired from famous youtubers but it's harder than you thought it would be.

If you really think on going all the way to do video game commentary and that really interest you, then by all means go for it. Just don't stop half way and get taken aback by negative comments.

lol please I'm not even expecting that many views and such if and when I do this lol

Nobody expects to get many views the first time.

For let's plays, play a game that you enjoy and something you can talk about while playing. You can be informative on a game (RPG games mostly) so viewers can understand the game's lore/gameplay and so on and so forth.

You don't have to be informative on all games. Blind let's plays can be good as well. It's like taking a test.

Yeah, I could go on about let's plays forever. I'll stop now.

Making other videos related to gaming? You can do something like a first impressions of latest videos games for 10-30 mins. That will require a lot of money though. Game trailer reviews, your point of view of the game and what your opinion is. Viewers like a person's opinion on things, and they will link to your video so others will watch it. You just need to represent it well.

Other than that, It's up to you. You need to start somewhere and start by doing something you're comfortable with. You can start by promoting your videos here, and we might spread it elsewhere for you and you will get more viewers that way.

Just some heads up for you when you start making this kind of videos.

It depends who is talking.

I personally love listening good gameplay commentaries than watching gameplay without commentary.

For examle Niichts and Jerma985 are my favourite youtubers , mostly because they make gameplays intresting with their talking and there is big difference with bad and good commentator. And Booman61, he makes mostly CoD and BF3 videos, but I just love them because he has so. golden. voice.

But it really is annoying when someone mumbles and tries to copy popular youtubes and you can't even hear the half he is saying in his/hers commentary

You should make some Rage Quit videos, those are always fun to watch, lol.
