...What are your stereotypes of Americans? I just get a bit curious after watching Hetalia.

For those who don't watch the show, America's portrayed as a food-obsessed man who always thinks that he's a hero.

In those videos, they CHOOSE all of the people who either answer the questions wrong, or believe them, or say something completely stupid.

 

The people who actually believe that stuff is a very, very small number. Though I would admit there is a hefty number that could care less about Canada, though I'm not one of them. o-o;

George Bush is just kinda an idiot at times.... quite frequently.

You have to admit though, jean poutin? poutin is a nasty food

there are some americans that know snap about canada, but those are the ones that dont know anything about other countries and then try to act like they do. its not a laaarge amount and im sure you can find some canadians that know next to nothing about the usa too, but that wasss a great cbc special. /shot

still, not all americans are idiotic like that. kinda like kaiso said, they only really showed the ones they got good responses from.

once when i was visiting cousins in saskatchewan in the middle of the summer a dude from ohio came with skis, and asked where the snow was. o__o i mean, i understand not knowing a lot about saskatchewan, but if you're going to go there...

In America, (YGOTAS?) there are many people I know who are completely ignorant of other cultures. And it really bugs me. I know one person who hates the Japanese because of Pearl Harbor. I mean, come on! I don't go around pointing at every Middle Eastern like they've got a bomb up their sleeve!

Its pretty much like America honestly, except no guns. Theres heaps of different cultures. And people are getting very culturally senstative now days, which is kinda good and bad. It raises alot of problems even if it solves some.

 

People here think Americians are fat and stupid. (which im sure is totally not true;)) lol but anyway, over in Australia we make lots of "racial" jokes. Like do you guys remember when those white people dressed up as black guys and did that dance? It was big news in America. But alot of Australian's couldnt see what was so racist about it. I mean, comon, black people dress up as white people heaps for fun, its not like it was supposed to portray them in a negative light (btw whos seen white chicks. best movie out)

 

Whenever i think of Canadian's i think of Americians, but with more clothes on, and playing hockey. Don't ask me why.

lawllll. i get that so much from the border patrols in the texas border. as soon as my dad says "texas" they look at us weird. i'm guessing they're trying to see where our cowboy hats are.

 

as for mexico's point of view on america: i can't say they look at us like we're made of gold or anything but they don't hate us either.

 

people always wanna go to america or get stuff from here for some reason; whenever my little cousins get toys or candy from me from america they look at me all happy and keep saying they wanna go to houston with me one day.

 

though mexico kinda dislikes us for blaming them for getting the swine flu. stupid, i know.

 

and they've been trying to become like america, too. at the town i go to in mexico, they put a "church's chicken" and people all go like "HEY, LET'S GO TO THAT AMERICAN RESTAURANT". "NAH, IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE".

I just feel like throwing out the fact that me, and many many people I know Dislike McDonalds and would gladly go out elsewhere than most fast-food places such as that. However, occasional places similar like Chick-Fil-A I will gladly go to. But I prefer Subway and Thundercloud Subs ( local sandwich shop, I highly recommend it if you're ever in my area. ) over most fast food places. <3 -- 8D once again, just throwing that out there.

 

 

I'm actually fine with the way our government's supposed to set up and run, however it's the people making the decisions up there that I'm not happy with, supportive of, or feel that they're doing what they're really supposed to be doing. -- But I'd rather not get into that, it causes foolish and pointless arguments that never lead anywhere. (o-o I cant really explain what I'm trying to say in any other way.... sorreh if it doesn't make sense to some. I'm very, very tired and stressed atm. < --- Lame excuse )

I don't like MCDonalds,and I wouldn't go anywhere else,strangely I hate fast-food.That's one of the causes that people think I'm strange.
