CloakedSchemerX's Top Ten Video Game Villains.

Posted

Idk, I'm bored. I'm just doing this for no reason at all. I haven't played every single game, or anything so criticism is fine, but don't get too crazy.

Top Ten Video Game Villains (Several Spoilers)

10. Bowser/Eggman. - Every Mario or Sonic game. (I think...)

Yes, yes, I do realize that both of these nitwits have lost every single time, and with utterly stupid plans, or at least stupid these days. Regardlessly, look at how much they've attempted at torturing Mario and Sonic, that's what makes them on this list at all, they NEVER quit trying to kill them. They're ridiculously persistent, and that's what makes us hate them so much. (Aside from them being such annoyances in the first place.)

9. Ridley. - Most, if not all, Metroid games.

Ridley, not necessarily a very sophisticated villain. After all he's no humanoid of any kind. All Ridley does is torment and interfere with Samus. Just that one person. But Ridley does a very good job at that. Most mentionably in Metroid Prime, I don't even need to say why. Ridley always finds himself torturing Samus, and he keeps coming back! Whether surviving a fight in the first place, being copied, or being revived, it's always there to get Samus.

8. Count Vulgar? Verger? Burger? Veger. - Jak and Daxter 3

Everyone who's played this game....you have to be with me here, you all hate him. HATE HIM. Anyways, all he really seeks is power from the Catacombs, and has plotted ever since he took the time to kidnap Jak when he was just a child. Just to GET to the Catacombs, he himself, attacks the Palace in Haven City. The whole time he says and claims to be doing good, when really, his actions just contradict his preachings. What really makes us all hate him though, is for Damas. Count Vulgar Veger appeared when Damas died, and revealed to Jak that Damas was Jak's father. And neither of them even knew as he was alive...

7. Xehanort. - Kingdom Hearts (in general).

Clearly everyone on this community knows Xehanort, and we all probably hate him to a certain extent. My hatred is most specifically because of Birth By Sleep. When realizing Ventus was likely a failure to his plans, he left to Destiny Islands where he'd abandon him, but then Ventus revealed his kyblade and Xehanort chose not to lose hope in him. Xehanort nearly killed Ventus by attempting to forge the X-Blade, and eventually released Ventus' darkness into the form of Vanitas. Bluntly lying to and manipulating Terra to eventually lead to Eraqus' death, Xehanort led the trio of Ventus, Aqua and Terra into the Keyblade Graveyard where everything went wrong. Ventus was put into a long-term comatose, Xehanort completely took over Terra's body and heart, and eventually fought Aqua in Radiant Garden where Aqua was trapped in the Realm of Darkness, and the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 was starting to take place.

6. TIE: ExDeath and Sephiroth. - Final Fantasy V/VII

SEPHROTH IS NUMBER ONE! THIS LIST IS ****!!! *exits page* I really hope that's not what you people are doing. Anyways, ExDeath was much better portrayed in the story, while Sephiroth is just plain bad***. ExDeath was a demonic tree that was sealed away long ago, whom plots to devour the world(s) into the Rift, or more commonly known as the VOID. As much as he goes on and on...and on...about the Void, he actually does a very good job at doing it. Before the final boss, ExDeath sucks up all of Bartz's friends and loved ones into the Void (except the party of course) and goes into the fight with Bartz and company. Of course they are returned once ExDeath is defeated. Sephiroth, on the other hand, was portrayed not quite as well in his schemes, but he is one of, if not the most bad*** of villains ever. He plans to become a god with the belief of merging himself with the very lifestream. What keeps these two on the list though, is for the both of them killing a beloved character in their respective games...

5. Ganondorf. - The Legend of Zelda series

A true symbol of a video game villain, Ganondorf is evil and manipulative, as well as powerful and destructive. He does have the Triforce of Power after all. Ranging from dark magical abilities and destructive force to turning into the monstrous beast Ganon, Ganondorf does his work well. In very game, Ganindorf is able to use Link to the advantage of his plans, until the very end of course. Either way, I would set Ganondorf as a good villain standard for creators.

4. Father Balder. - Bayonetta.

This game REALLY needs more people to play it, it's a very thrilling, fun and epic game. Regarding Balder though, Father Balder is, well...the father of Bayonetta, whom is actually named Cereza. Balder wishes to revive Jubileus, the Creator with the use of the Eyes of the World. The Eyes of the World, are two beings of Light and Dark to oversee the world. Balder knows that he, himself, is the very Right Eye of the World. Knowing that a human of impure blood was to be the Left Eye if born, Balder, a Lumen Sage, illegally married an Umbran Witch in order to form the Left Eye. Yes, impregnating this Umbran Witch was party of his PLAN. Damn. When Bayonetta slips from his grasp and is locked in a 500 year slumber, Balder does not lose his hopes. Once Bayonetta is reawakened after the 500 years, Balder takes a younger Cereza (Bayonetta) to the present Bayonetta in order to reawaken her as the Left Eye of the World, When the two come together again, Balder and Bayonetta form the Eyes of the World, and come as Jubileus, the Creator. Bayonetta is eventually pulled out as Balder is half of the Creator itself.

3. TIE: Emperor Mateus/Chaos. - Final Fantasy II/Dissidia Final Fantasy

Both are just...evil. Emperor Mateus took over the Fynn Empire for his tyranny, and used his powers to summon powerful demons in order to do so. Even after he would send his demons to rebellion cities and destroy them. Throughout the game Mateus is constantly destroying cities from afar. He eventually builds a powerful destructive airship called the Dreadnought to destroy cities quicker and more efficiently. Not only that, but he creates an enormous Cyclone to wreak havoc on the world. Mateus also convinced a party member, Leon, to join his side and become the Dark Knight. When Firion and the others finally confront Mateus, Mateus intentionally dies admist the battle...INTENTIONALLY. Leon takes the throne of Emperor and is confronted by Firion and the others. Soon enough, Mateus appears before the battle, now as the DEMON LORD himself. Mateus had split his soul into two halves, a good and bad, eventually taking over both HEAVEN AND HELL. The previously dead party members join up in Heaven to defeate him, as the original party stays on Earth where the Demonic Mateus had gone to. Both Mateus's are eventually defeated in Pandaemonium and Arrubboth respectively. Chaos is much more simple, he calls upon the antagonists of the main Final Fantasy's against the protagonists. As simplistic as that is, it is revealed Chaos is an all-powerful god, and that the side of Chaos won twelve times as opposed to the one loss of the thirteenth.

2. Dormin. - Shadow of the Colossus.

You all saw THIS coming, right? Yeah....well, Wander, the protagonist of the game has his love Mono dead. Dormin promises to revive Mono if Wander slays the sixteen colossi, but does warn Wander of great consequences, but never specifies them. The sixteen colossi, each have shadowy tendrils within them when killed, which are fragments of Dormin and were supposed to prevent his resurrection. Dormin eventually gains fragments enough so that he is as large enough as many colossi. When Wander comes back with the deed done, Dormin grants his wish. Dormin kills Wander. Even after that, Dormin kept his word and resurrect Mono, who now would see Wander dead.

1. (Get out if you're going to flame me. *death glare*) Kefka Palazzo. - Final Fantasy VI

Yes, yes, Kefka's on EVERY one of these lists, yes yes, I know. But he has a good reason to. Not only is his game GREAT, but I just find all of his characteristics likeable. His disturbing 16-bit laugh, his split-second humor, his HATRED, and such all qualifies him a good character. As a villain though, what really made me pay attention is how sadistic his thoughts were. This was much more portrayed in Dissidia, but it was clear that Kefka knew not what love is, what feelings were, or why he should live at all....and that was why he was determined to destroy everything. A sad being like that really gets him a bit of development. Not only is he more or less misunderstood, but he actually succeeds in wreaking havoc and becoming a god. He becomes the god of the very world he ruined and even makes sure a happy ending doesn't COMPLETELY happen, even after his death. magic is eradicated from the world once he dies.

Maybe I should make one too.........

Hm.....This is interesting...I agree with you on these :)

(p.s: HI SCHEMER, haven't seen you today. *tiny panda hug*)

Dormin is an interesting choice for number 2. I can't really say I see him as being evil, even though he ends up being the antagonist in the end. There isn't really any confirmation if the baby the girl found was Wander or not, but I like to believe it was. I feel like Dormin did what he could to free himself, but he was still going to be true to his word to Wander. Definitely a great character. God I love that game ^^

I knew Xehanort was going to be part of this list.

So I am not the only one who thinks Kefka is a better villain than Sephiroth. :)
