Since I'm a fan of RPG games and anime and since it is the most awaited anime of the summers, I decided to start watching it, and it exceeded my expectation, and now I ask, who else besides me on this site has been watching it and what do you think of it?

You know what I really dislike about some people's views on the internet? Their dislike for Suguha. (this is in no way singling out someone on here, but is actually from places I've seen like tumblr and what not)

 

Suguha, whether or not people will admit it or not, is a rather strong character.

 

Yeah, her love for her cousin (they were never truly siblings) may be a taboo in the western world, which is why some people are disgusted by her, it isn't much of a problem in more Eastern countries. People watching the show or reading the Light Novels seem to disregard or ignore that.

 

However, what I really think is the issue here is some people's underlining reason behind their hate for Suguha is no other than Asuna. Don't get me wrong I love pretty much most characters in SAO, but when it comes to Kirito and Asuna's relationship, I have witnessed a lot of people pass off Suguha as some kind of horrible person simply because she's struck by love.

 

Suguha puts a TON of strain on herself because of her feelings already, and she knows that Kirito is already in love with someone else; however, she just can't help herself. Somehow she continues to try and be the bigger person and try to move on from her love for Kazuto/Kirito. To put it simply, Suguha's whole development revolves around the phrase:

 

"If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were."

 

She understands that Kirito would be happier with Asuna, and even though it pains her she is willing to let him go for the sake of his happiness. To me that takes a WHOLE lot of strength for a person to do. She COULD HAVE been exactly as how a lot of the fandom tends to depict her as: A selfish girl who just wants to keep Kazuto for herself. Does she? No. She does the exact opposite despite the pain it gives her. If she is really as bad of a person as a lot of people make her out to be, she would have left Kirito to fend for himself when he went to go save Asuna.

 

I think Suguha is a great character with a strong personality, and I really can't see any actual reason for people to hate her like some do. If anyone here really loves the show I would suggest reading the Light Novel too (you can find it online easily) because it really goes into more detail about things, shows greater character development, and is also further on in the series if you want to skip ahead. c:

 

This is pretty general problem among any anime and its' fans. It seems that every girl who happens to like the protagonist or simply is friends with him is right away 'cock blocking' the protagonist and whoever his heroine is. Is that even good reason to hate some character? No, I think that Suguha is one of the better characters of the series and she seems to be more stronger and useful than Asuna.

Welll everyone, today is the final episode of Sword Art Online, I hope you enjoy it and have enjoyed the anime overall, I expect to hear your thoughts and criticism after today's episode

SAO fans, it's coming.

Last episode? No way! Aren't there still two more story arcs to go or something like that? It can't end yet!

I think from what I've hear it's done pretty good overall so far, so another season is quite possible for the other story arcs.

Just watched final episode and I have to say that it was pretty good. The story progressed, voice acting was good, ending was satisfying even if the anime wouldn't get continuation. I also really liked how Sugou was executed in this episode and every character worked although I wanted to see Klein more. I'm also glad how they didn't completely forget Suguha now that Asuna is back and deepened Suguha and Kirito's relationship.

Klein, Lisbeth and Silica were supposed to have a more active role in this arc, but you know how sometime they make things way shorter and leave a lot of stuff out from the light novels when they make the anime

I believe they will make another season, SAO was a big hit of this season and gave lots of money to the producers so I see that most propably we will have new season with GGO and the others arc. 

Season 2 has been confirmed

yeh It was the most probable I think, they want to make profit they can't stop a such big hit anime. Anyway do we know any dates or nah yet

I have only seen hype and expectations for season 2 and no actual confirmed news sources???

I hope the sources that I read are correct, they said it was confirmed and a episode 26 was on the way, only time will tell

You can say im an anime freak lol but sersly sword art online is the best anime SO FAR (and as for guilty crown I already watched all the episodes so yeah)

Same happenes to me every anime I watch I find it pretty nice . SAO was indeed a very good anime but nothing can be compared to Code Geass. This anime is pure perfect, back to SAO I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT SEASON, I finished even with Soul Eater and now IDK what to watch
