Hey guys, guess what, Lexi's actually going to attempt to complete something she posts on KH13! 8D As y'all know, I start quite a few things on here and never finish them. (My best/favorite novels that I actually do finish I tend not to post online.) So I'm going to try my best, and if anyone actually likes this, if I don't have out a new chapter every roughly four or five days, bug me until I do it. Also criticism is always welcome. The prologue's gonna be short btw
Prologue - Talon's POV
I broke through the defensive line with ease. A battalion of armored soldiers weren't enough to stop me. The cottage was within sight, and if I could sprint there first, I would have done it. I would have done what Hal and Aria called impossible. What everyone called impossible. What Eden--if she could have--would have told me I was crazy for.
The clanging of armor behind me was the only sound of pursuit, but it wasn't enough to slow me. I had motivation, and I would not be stopped. A soldier lunged at me, the weight of him knocking me to the side, but not tipping me over. I shoved him away and kept running. The cottage was so close now; only a stone's throw away.
I didn't bother to decelerate. I slammed into the door, splintering the wood and crashing through onto the stone floor.
The first face to greet me was Hal's. Pale and clammy, his camouflage green eyes wide open, staring unseeingly past me at an odd angle. "Hal?" It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he was dead, and had been for a while. So many competing emotions were bubbling up inside me that all I could really feel was a stinging numbness.
I raised my eyes from his form, only to be greeted by another familiar face. Damien's slate grey eyes were cold, and bore straight into mine. A dagger with a golden hilt was clutched between his tan fingers. Eden's dagger. "I've been waiting a long time for you, Talon."
