But when time passed he remembered and remembered until he knew everything and remembered how to summon his keyblade (DDD Intro). He then took his master's name Ansem .... Also the time that Braig talks to Xehanort , Xehanort remembers a little bit but not much to get his identity back. But old-noob Braig thinks that Xehanort remembers everything......

January 12, 201313 yr At first I think he really did have amnesia but over time regained his memories and continued to carry out his plans. However, when he did eventually regain his memories he still pretended to have amnesia in order to manipulate and lie to the apprentices to further carry out his agenda without them knowing his real intentions.

This sums it up pretty much. It seemed to after Ansem the Wise's experiments on Xehanort were carried out he regained his memories. From that point on everything he did was in the overall interest of Master Xehanort's plans.
January 12, 201313 yr I don't think he did remember anything, but Braig just finally filled him in enough on the plot and I guess he had enough Xehanort in him that he thought it sounded like a good idea. Personally, I really thought it would've been interesting if he hadn't gone evil'ish.
January 12, 201313 yr Pretty much everyone already stated it above. At first I think he really did have amnesia, but as time passed (about a year I think) he started to regain his memories. As flaming lea said, I think he would just fake he had amnesia later on. Plus, braig might have filled him in on his past, but I highly doubt it since in the beginning of kh3d Braig was surprised to see Xehanort with his keyblade and asked him if he regained them already Edited January 12, 201313 yr by No. i
