Liikemike 0 Posted January 25, 2013 Should I wait for the HD Remix US version to come out or should I go ahead and buy COM and KH2? Im currently playing KH1 and from the chronology order I believe COM comes next then 358/2 days and then KH2. So i would like some suggestions please
Weiss 8,279 Posted January 25, 2013 Waiting for the hd remakes sounds like a better option imo. 1 143436611Xxcc reacted to this
Liikemike 0 Posted January 25, 2013 Yeah but the thing is i don't wanna wait that long and then again I do wanna wait just because I wanna see the HD Graphics
TwiliLord 232 Posted January 25, 2013 HD remake, BUT you can buy KH2 for PS2. Playing HD 1.5 wouldn't be as enjoyable because you played the originals (KH1 and CoM) earlier. If you just wait it out, you would have a much better experience. Just my opinion though. You should buy KH2 because 2.5 won't come out for more than a year. Indecypher 495 Posted January 25, 2013 Technically Days begins before Com. Like Twililord said playing Kh2 won't affect getting 1.5 and it will actually help you understand some stuff in Days. If playing Kh1 right now hasn't made you not want to get 1.5 then I guess get Com too. When 1.5 comes out either watch the scenes online to see the graphics. Or get Com, Kh2 and 1.

Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) If you're going for chronological order then I guess that means you've already played BbS. I would suggest ignoring the chronology getting KH2 then waiting for ReMIX. Sora forgets everything that happens in CoM so it doesn't really affect you're comprehension of the story if you play KHII first. Namine only vaugely references CoM when she explains why Sora is sleeping in the pod. Beyond that the only mention of it is in the Journal entries for Vexen, Zexion, Lexaeus, Marluxia and Larxene saying that they where defeated by Sora. Technically Days begins before Com. Or get Com, Kh2 and 1.5 That may be true Indecypher, but the bulk of the story happens afterward. So I would put it as being the fourth game chronologically. Ruran 481 Posted January 25, 2013 If you're willing to buy and play both the regular and HD versions might as well go ahead and play the regular versions first. imo playing the HD versions afterwards will help you appreciate the games more once you see all the up dates that were made after ten years. Plus, the additions from the FMs. Besides Re:MIX 1.5 comes with KH1FM, R:CoM, and Days cutscenes and regardless of how they package it I recommend playing KH2 before Days. Days spoils too much of KH2 and I feel you can appreciate it more when you play (or watch Re:MIX's cutscenes of) Days afterwards.
Hei 3,233 Posted January 25, 2013 If you can, I suggest doing both. Play the original games first, for that "pure" experience of playing on they're original console's. THEN play the HD collection when it comes out. I mean, it's gonna be a few months before it even comes out so yeah.
Indecypher 495 Posted January 25, 2013 That may be true Indecipher, but the bulk of the story happens afterward. So I would put it as being the fourth game chronologically. I didn't think what I said implied it wasn't, I was just letting him know Days was an interquel because he wanted the timeline. I'd suggest he play them the way they were released, but I figured he should know if he wanted to be chronologically precise. Indecipher? Please. The name's Indecypher. Got it memorized? I was actually thinking of doing that in the first place but to be honest I think KH1 is the only one Im gonna wanna play all over again, COM for some reason I feel like Im just gonna wanna play it once. Also are all the DS KH games play a valuable role in the main storyline? Cause Im thinking of just watching the cutscenes for the ds games, DDD will be the only one im actually gonna wanna play btw Heres what I'm gonna do: * Currently playing KH1 * Gonna play KH2 next * Waiting for 1.5 to play FM1 & COM What are the suggestions as to what I should do next so I can understand the storyline better? Or if you guys have a better idea on what I should do after KH1 to get the best storyline

Or if you guys have a better idea on what I should do after KH1 to get the best storyline imo PLOT WISE Days and Re:Coded aren't all that important. They have important tidbits here and there but you don't need to play the games to understand. Days is important mostly for it's introduction of Xion and knowing her backstory and how she fits in is what's manly important. Days is over all a character driven story. Re:Coded is more about game play. It's very short and the most important thing about it is the secret ending. Days didn't have very many cutscenes so I suggest waiting for 1.5 for that. Since it's being compressed into a "movie" about one hundred new cutscenes were added to tell the story and it'll be about 2hrs 50min long. Not to mention it'll be a lot more appealing to look at. DG20 67 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) If you have the option, get Birth By Sleep since it's the first game chronologically. Pretty fun and adds alot backstory to the current story. If not, then watch the scenes after you finish KH2. Edited January 25, 2013 by DG20

CoM is good, but those dang cards and the fact that it's just KH1 all over again with a different story makes it hard to replay lol The DS games are valuable to the story, but they are like cannon side games. They contribute to the story, but aren't exactly THAT huge in terms of adding to it. I myself bought them for the sake of my KH collection, but I say you should just wait till KH HD. Caity 3,946 Posted January 27, 2013 Get KH2 and play it Then play BBS on the hardest mode for each character and complete each story and side quests 100% a few months before 1.5 comes out Prepare for HD wizardry with the next 3 stories.
