Did any of you notice that if you were to make an attempt at LV1 in KH 1.5, you would lose access to about 90% of the abilities obtained through leveling, including some of the most important ones like Second Chance? Enemies and bosses alike would be able to put an end to you in one hit later in the game. Without Power/Magic/Defense boosts, the game will be impossible. Now I think that Square will change around some of the abilities as done in KH2FM. What do you think?

I think they'll do similar to what they did in kh2fm and put a few abilities after boss battles. It would be a nice way to do it plus they've done it before.

Yeah, maybe the matches in Olympus Coliseum will drop power/defense boosts like the data fights in Kh2FM.

But what if you are just a skilled master at dodging and being able to get 1 hit in every 10 minutes?

and yeah, I bet they will make some changes to that.

^ This. I find it surprising that Square really would accommodate this in their remaster as it's a suicide mission and a huge amount of time and effort to make the game as difficult as possible and avoiding mastering the cool abilities you come by later on, but if they are to, I would agree with Keys on this. That, or they should have an option after proud/critical mode for a 'LV1 Lock' which prevents you levelling up regardless of EXP.

I think there should be new abilities after beating the game, as a reward for, well, beating it. Then you can take on the bosses with a bonus that can make the fights cooler.

Well they said the battle system will be changed to be more like KH2 and Reaction Commands do decent damage.

Why would you need a level 1 lock when there's the "Zero EXP" ability? I've never played an FM so do you get the ability after hitting a certain level? If that's the case then I could understand the wish for a LV 1 lock, but I thought Zero EXP was available from the get-go, fulfilling pretty much the same role.

Maybe something like an ability that sets you back at Lv1 but allows you to retain all your skills and abilities would be kinda cool.

To the best of my knowledge, Zero xP is not available to begin with. However, that would be a simpler replacement for a LV1 Lock.

kh1.5 yeah

On Critical Mode in BBS, KH3D, and KH2FM, "Zero EXP" is available from the very beginning of the game.

ah, fir enough, I must have disregarded it so many times that it slipped my mind!

If they do change KH1 to give abilities after fights, it'll probably only be the basics like in KH2FM: Scan, Guard, etc. Giving you Second Chance and Once More kind of defeat the purpose of the difficulty setting.

My old hands accepts that challenge.

Um, no it doesn't in the slightest. The game would be LITERALLY impossible without them...It would still be insane. Lvl 1 damage and you do half the damage you do on other difficulties, while enemies do double on you.Yeah, those abilities are absolutely needed. :/

I agree about the insanity of the difficulty, but saying the abilities are essential seems like a bit of a stretch. Yeah, you die 200 times, but failure's part of learning. The whole point of a lv1 Crit run is to test your skill, and safety nets just kind of kill the spirit of it.

Yeah true, on most things you wouldn't need them. But on bosses like Maleficent dragon where it's basically impossible to dodge attacks that get you to low hp on just proud to begin with, and the final waves of heartless right before the ansem fight, either they'd be litterally impossible, or so hard only the best gamer with that kind of patience could handle lol.

Then it's a good thing that I have a bottomless well of patience. We'll just have to see how it all plays out, and hopefully we won't be throwing our controllers at the tele in End of the World.

Haha me too. I can't wait for this game. D:

Of course. If you are at Lv 1, then you can't do much and one hit a boss delivers to you is like squashing a bug i.e. it will be one hit KO all the time.

I think the whole point of doing a lvl. 1 critical playthrough is that the enemies can kill you in one hit... thats tge challenge of it.
