What are dreams? Some people think that they're a goal. Some people think it's another dimension. To put it simple, a dream is a series of thoughts and senses occurring in a person's mind. Most mammals dream. Just because we don't remember 90% of them doesn't mean we don't experience them, unless you have some severe psychological disorder. So buckle up, and let's learn how to dream!
Section 1:Recalling Dreams
In order to lucid dream, you need to learn how to recall them. A person sleeps in five stages:
Stage 1:
This is considered light sleep. One can still be awakened quite easily. The brain produces theta waves, which are very slow brain waves. Stage 1 of sleep usually doesn't last very long. It usually isn't considered actually "sleep". However, our body still relaxes.
Stage 2:
This is now a deeper sleep, and it harder to awaken. The body relaxes more.
Stage 3:
The body becomes extremely relaxed. The body's heart rate and temperature decreases. Considered light deep sleep.
Stage 4:
This is the second stage of deep sleep. Your energy, both physical and mental, may return. However, without enough deep sleep, you won't feel refreshed when you wake up.
REM SLEEP: Rapid Eye Movement, also known as REM, is when most dreams occur. It is called Rapid Eye Movement because it's exactly what it is: rapid eye movement. Your eyes are randomly moving (though your eyes are still closed obviously). If someone is waken up during REM sleep, there dream will be a lot more vivid. Once you fall asleep again, your mind will shift to REM sleep again. This occurs 4 - 6 hours within sleep.
The goal is to wake up during REM sleep.
What you're going to need:
A notebook (dream journal)
Pen
Alarm
Once you wake up, ask yourself, "What did I just dream about." Don't move at all. Don't even open your eyes. Try to remember your dream. Once you can remember it, write it down in your dream journal. If you don't remember anything at all, write down any emotions you felt while you were sleeping. Did you see any images at all?
The more you write in your dream journal, the easier it will be to recall your dreams.
After you can remember most of your dreams, you will learn how to discover your dreamsigns, which I will post later
