You win PS3. Where is the best place to buy one of these?

Posted

Yes I know I know, I make too many threads on PS3, but this is my last one, trust me.

With the absolute confirmation of KH 1.5 remix, and a most likely 2.5, I don't think I can turn this down, I think it's about time I got a PS3.

But I don't want to spend a ton of money, so... anyone know where the cheapest place to buy PS3's is? (Unless Ebay is the best, which I'm going to assume it is)

Play N Trade, if you have one where you live

Wait for the PS4, you can then get that and later on buy a PS3 for like 50 bucks instead of 350.

I got the slim last year for $250 in Australia. Haha. That's a great price for Australia.

I would go for Ebay or Amazon.

You can't compare Europe to Australia. Especially with the global recession.

It's pointless converting euros to dollars. Both are completely economies and countries. And your conversion is completely wrong. You must have converted to US dollars.

Gamestop?

i should have mentioned which dollar. Not Euros, Great British Pounds. and it wasn't pointless, it gave a ROUGH comparison of the prices assuming that the PS3s sold in all regions are the same. Something know as purchase power parity (PPP) in economics. the currency market sometimes functions outside of the economy and despite both economies being separate, they are linked. cash flows between the two are common. If you want Australian Dollars, its $216 approx. One last point, the difference in the prices in various currencies is also an indicator of the state of the economies and purchasing power of the currency, for comparison's sake.

Countries are compared all the time, especially in the current difficult economic climate. when there is money to be spent, everything is compared. plus i was only comparing the prices and inexplicably comparing the currencies, not to offend anyone though.

The difference in prices can have nothing to do with the economy. In Australia a lot of things are overpriced, video games being the biggest. But we have one of the strongest economies in the world. We were one of the only countries in the world to avoid recession and we have the strongest dollar in the world.

Yes it can. It shows the purchasing power of the economy, which is a direct result of the various economic decisions made by the country. You say over-priced, the comparison also suggests it because the UK is still pretty much better off than some of the worse hit countries and that difference is because of the different decisions made by the two governments in running their economies. Hence sometimes the Purchase Power Parity can be used to determine exchange rates. it doesn't simply mean that one economy is better than the other.

Yes, it can. I clearly stated that before. But that's no always the case. For Australia, the reason our video games are overpriced has nothing to do with the economy.

No it can't. Trust me. And as for the video games, yes there is. There is most definitely a sound economic reasoning behind it. How can i say that? I can, because, its a market in an economy. Any decision made that effects the sale and purchase of any given commodity has an economic reason behind it. It will be effected by the state of an economy and one or more of the government's decisions.

Lol. Mate, make your mind up.

I should what's going on in my own country mate. Video games being overpriced here has nothing to do with our economy.
