Capcom has cancelled development of MMO Mega Man Online.

The game was announced in 2010, but now it transpires that Capcom and
developer Neowiz mutually agreed to halt development on Mega Man Online
in November 2012.

Speaking to Korean website This Is Game (translated via Kotaku),
a Neowiz spokesman explained the situation. "Both companies have
continually discussed to find agreeable points on quality, development
time, communication and etc. Ultimately, both companies have agreed to
stop the development of Rock Man Online last early November."

The game was to be set in the distant future, long after the Mega Man
and Mega Man X timelines, with copies of the series' heroes being put
into mass-production to combat an invasion of robotic baddies.

Capcom cancelled both Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe in 2011, but promised at the end of 2012 that the character had plenty of life left.

"I can say with certainty that you've not seen the last of the Blue
Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we'll be celebrating
his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you're going to enjoy
over the next 25 years," said Capcom senior vice president Christian Svensson at the time.

Not surprised. Ever since inafune left Capcom has been killing Megaman. It's a shame to see a once beloved game company turn into one of the worst companies in existence.

I loved it. First Megaman game I ever played. I got BN 3 Blue, and still have it, and have every subsequent one. I cried at the end of 6 when I saw " Megaman Battle Network END." I knew it was over . I grew up with him, and Lan Hikari and Megaman.EXE grew on me. They were the perfect duo. So many good memories... Then they tried replacing it with Star force, which was the same universe but years later. Not the same. Those were better days.

Old news.

 

But poor news for Mega Man fans.

 

I liked the show, Mega Man NT Warrior but could never get into the games.

Seems legit.
