If Roxas Controls the Samurais...

Posted

If Roxas controls the Samurai nobodies, why do they attack him in 358/2 Days? Couldn't he simply call them off instead of fighting them? Its just something that doesn't really make much sense to me..

Well, the missions where you have to fight them were just training excersices to test Roxas' skills. Nothing more.

Didn't they attack Roxas toward the end?

You're talking about when he leaves the organization right? I swear I've read something  that addressed this in an interview, I just can't seem to find it.

If I remember correctly it was just supposed to be symbolic of the master(Roxas) leaving his underlings or whatever you want to call them(Samurais). So to show the relationship between the two I guess? I could be totally off.

Found it!~ Actually it was a question posed in a Famitsu interview, though Nomura didn't really give a direct answer >_>:

– Although it’s a subordinate of Roxas, the Samurai Nobody attacks in the end, because of the severing of the relationship with their master, Roxas.

Nomura: At the time, it was in development to have a subordinate Nobody in battles, but because of the difficulty involved in making such a thing happen, the goal did not materialize

It's amazing how such a small detail in a game can be so symbolic.

Well I think Xemnas kinda tells controls who they are subordinates, and Roxas could control them, but when he left, he lost the control he had.

In 358/2 Days, you only fight them inside the Castle, to show that it was actually more of a training. Your goal is not to kill them actually, though you can, but destroy the vases (if I'm not mistaken). So they were attacking him be Roxas wanted.

Actually, Samurai never attacked Roxas now that I think of it. They actually helped him by blocking out Donald and Goofy, but I don't think Roxas could control much of them.

Interesting though, how Axel's own Nobodies, Assassins, were the ones to attack him, together with the usual Dusks. I guess the Organization thought since Roxas was not a problem anymore they kinda didn't matter with the Nobody thing.

well if nobodies can grow hearts maybe they didn't want roxas to leave. they are just like "NOOOOOO DON'T LEAVE MASTER!!!!!!!!"

Oh yeah, that's right. Haha I haven't played Days in so long that I was thinking of the training mission where you fight the dusks. I completely forgot that you fight them towards the end of the game.

What do you mean, they blocked out Donald and Goofy? You mean in KH2 where he fought Sora, and Donald and Goofy were held up by Nobodies?

I figure Xemnas overrode control over Roxas's mastery over the Samurais to stop him from leaving.  The "severing of the relationship with their master, Roxas," was probably literal.

Yeah that. Just kinda made it short with blocked xP
