I feel season 1 Ash is a pretty relatable guy too.

The 1st season was good... Now it's just terrible but it's still sort of ok

i sorta wish ash was a better trainer, i guess his mediocreness is supposed to be for plot reasons, but having an awesome badass character that travelled around the world beating every pokemon trainer, but losing to a few here and there would be pretty cool too

I miss when he did that backwards hat thing in kanto. That was cool lol
