Day 1

I slipped the key into its whole and opened the door. It was a rather expansive, modern living room with a kitchen behind a doorway and a flight of stairs that led up to the bathrooms. A pair of doors on the other side of the stairs were the changing rooms leading to their own sides of the hot spring behind the house. "Alright." I said to everyone. Let's head upstairs and unpack. Then we have two options: chill here and get settled; or get changed and hit the beach."

(It was a crazy story...thank you)

–Kurai—

I haven't seen the ocean in what seems like forever. I used to be so afraid of it because I couldn't swim last time I came to the sea.

It was an endless void of blue....or so it seemed. My face was already blushing. Curse you Sikota....it just makes me feel really weird and bubbly. But what am I thinking about?

All thoughts were interrupted when one of the larger tides crashed into us and sent us sprawling underwater. My hold of her hand was unfortunately broken due to the water's pressure. I jumped to my feet and spat out the salty water. Shaking it out of my face, I crouched down so the wind wouldn't chill my wet chest. "Whew, didn't see that one coming, eh, Kurai-chan?"

I watched the couples dash off into the surf. The single girl was still by the umbrella. Yuffie, her name was, I think. It doesn't matter that much. I went into my Masterpieces folder. It was where I kept all my best games. I opened up A Year Walk Companion, a reference app I had been reading to prepare myself for the game Year Walk, which I intended to get soon. It seemed like the game would have a few scares in it. I better remember to play it in the morning, with the lights on. I was reading about Mylings right now. Apparently, from Swedish folklore, Mylings were the souls of babies killed somehow during infancy. Infanticide was common back in the 19th century in Sweden. The Myling would come back to haunt their former mothers. There was a story about them:

--One story from Bergslagen tells of an old farmer on his way home through the forest. He is approached by a small child who follows him and says "Grand-father, Grand-father, I am so hungry". The old man tries to ignore it, but the child keeps on nagging, so finally the old man loses his patience. "If you can find someone to feed you, then feed. But you won't get any milk from me". The child seems pleased and leaves. When the old man comes home, he finds his daughter lying dead on the floor, bleeding from her chest. The child he met was the spirit of his murdered grandson.--

A shudder ran through my spine.

I had sighed. I had seen Sodom's disdainful look, and I knew full-well that I was the cause of it. I hate being annoying to people, and yet, I can't seem but to do it anyways; when I do it, I usually lose all forms of a good mood, and the feeling stays with me. If I was an anime character, surely the blue cloud of despair would be hanging around me.

I'll apologize later. I thought to myself, at least, that's all I could manage before I was taken by the arm and pushed into the ocean.

"Blrhghthehe!" I sputtered, coming up for air as I looked at the perpetrator--Sora. "Come here, you!" I cried, rushing up, and trying to pull her down with me, laughing as I went.

—Kurai—

I gripped onto Sikota quickly.

"S—Scary....." I stuttered.

"We need to watch out...kay?" I said with a small smile, still gripping onto Sikota's arm.

I looked up from my reading. . . . They all seemed so happy together. That envious feeling came back. I know I choose to be socially inept, but sometimes I wish I were a little better at those kinds if things. A sigh escaped my mouth. A melancholy feeling set in, the kind I get occasionally when I observenature or listen to silence. I closed my eyes and listened to their laughter born on the breeze.

I let Silver pull me down."Okay crazy man~" He laughed as I somehow ended up onto of him.

"Alright!" I suddenly started to splash him. "Splash Attack." I cried turning this into a game.

"Btw~I'm the splash mater~" I kept up my splash attack.

( Neisan, how am I just now realizing how poetic you can be? )

I wrapped myself around Kurai, shielding her from another wave. Remembering what Sensei taught me, I kept my feet shoulder length apart, knees bent, feet planted in the sand, I braced myself. The wave crashed over us, I stood firm and kept upright. "That was close." I commented, neglecting to realize that I was still hanging onto her.

—Kurai—

"You're pretty funny Sikota..." I laughed.

I wasn't so heavy, so I hopped on Sikota's back (75 POUNDS PEOPLE. *evil laugh*).

"To the water of endless sinking deadly doom!" I overexagerated.

I turned around real fast, giving a rather sad glance at Neisan. Too bad he hasn't came to join our fun yet.

I laughed as I let Sora's 'splash attack' hit me.

"Oh really?" I said, splashing her back with about as much playfulness. "Then that makes me the splash...emperor -or something-!" I said back, splashing Sora a few more times as i looked around the beach. Sodom and Sikota were having a similar amount of fun..while Natron and Yuffie remained on the beach. I sighed, that depressing feeling in my gut daring to rise again. I hated that feeling...it was one of the few things I could say I actually hated.

"Whelp~" I cheered, splashing Sora once again.

I giggled a tad when Kurai threw her jecket at me. I quickly threw it under the umbrella, next to the quiet kid, Neisan Sikota had called him. He looked kind of alone, but still seemed content to be by himself. I looked quickly to the ocean, it's cool water and crashing waters calling me. Then I turned back to Nei. I may be kinda goofy and silly, but I try to nice when the oppurtunity reveals itself. So instead of joining Silver, Kurai, Sikota, and Sora in the water, I plopped down next to Nei and looked over his shoulder at what he was doing on his iPad. He was reading something about Swedish ghost babies. Very uh... interesting. "Good reading material for a day at the beach huh?" I spoke sarcastically, a pleasant smile on my face. "I'm sorry, I haven't even introduced myself yet. Name's Yuffie. Yours?" I introduced myself, and asked for his name. I raised my hand for a handshake, as knowing how to perform a proper handshake was an ability I was proud of, maybe a bit too much. Really, it was all in the grip and how you present yourself. Smile, look them in the eye, and be firm in grip, but not demanding. You should also never do a sandwich handshake, or shake too excitedly. Pretty simple, yet so few people seemed to know how to do it properly.

The melancholy feeling broke as something displaced the air next to me. It was that girl, Yuffie. "I already know your name. Sikota told me who everybody was before we left. My name is Neisan." I turned over so I could shake her hand. I pressed my hand firmly into hers and shook, not to vigorously, not so softly. I looked her in her turquoise eyes. Handshakes were one of the few times I made eye contact with people. I turned back into my previous position. "As for my reading material, I'm gearing up for a new game."

As I pulled my hand away, I continued to grin. "Well, nice to meet you Neisan." I spoke, scooting a tad closer to him. "Well, if you're reading about ghost babies, must be some kind of horror game I assume." I tried to look him in the eyes, but his attention was still on the iPad. 'So he's that kind of guy,' I thought to myself. He was the quiet, smart guy, constantly absorbed in his own world, not really engaging with other people. Granted, I can be a nerd too, but at least I was a social nerd. But if he thought he could be rid of me by giving me a slightly chilly shoulder, then he was horribly wrong. The great ninja Yuffie never gives up that easily! And so, I started talking really fast, like I do to try and get people to laugh, or at least pay attention to me. "YaknowIreallylikehorror.They'reliketotallyscaryandgivemeanadrenalinehigh,whicharetotallyawesome.Ilovebeingallcrazyandscaredlike,mainlyit'sjustbecauseitfeelsprettyepic.Ilikegettingreallyhyperoffsugartoo,Igetallinsaneandsilly.It'salsoweirdwhenIgetsuperhyperandrushedoffofpureexcitement,andIjustgoprettymuchinsane,justsayingrandomwordsthatpopintomyhead,whichpeopleseemtothinkisreallyweird,andrightlyso,asitisreallyweird," I took a deep breath, about to launch into another bout of words. At this point, I wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying, just spouting off sounds that happened to make a word.

(and thus the thread is vaporized... that's Nei's job)

I gave into the mischievous temptations. Kurai's light weight made it a little more difficult than it would have been with others but I used the extra momentum to throw both of us into the salty surf.

(Yeah. Gosh.)

My ear was just about talked off. I had to stop her before she started again. "Actually, mostly a puzzle, moody, dark game. It does have a few scares though. I'm going to be playing it in the mornings. With the lights on." So Yuffie was one of those girls who started spouting nonsensical random things that only have half to do with the actual subject. I finished reading about Mylings. Enough reading for now. What to do next? Nothing needing wifi. Too far from the beach house. I looked through my folders. Hmm. . . Hey! I could talk to Yuffie about gaming! " I like to consider myself a connoisseur of iPad games. Do you play many games?"

(DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH 75 POUNDS ON YOUR BACK?)

"Gyaaa....this is cooold....." I complaint, still clutching onto Sikota, however getting off of his back.

I eventually turned myself in front of him, still clutching onto him for dear life.

"Sikota...lets go bug Sora and Silver...." I said quietly and a bit mischievously.

(No, I was just saying that the trick I pulled would be easier with someone heavier cause that means more momentum... I'll post later)

(Well, sorry Sodom weighs nothing xD)

I laughed. "Okay,if you say so." She allowed herself to fall back in the water and just kind of lay there for awhile.

Then getting bored she started to kick water at him. "Splash~ Splash~ Splash~" She giggled as she kicked the water up at him.

(fast forward to late evening!)

I walked down the stairs, my large, orange binder in hand. Having claimed the room furthest down the narrow hall meant that I was the closest to the bathroom, with the towel draped around my neck and my hair still wet, but free of salt water, I joined everyone in the expansive living room. "Shower's open." I said. "Anyone who's fast enough can claim it next." I plopped down on an empty sofa and opened up my binder. Pulling my fancy erasable Japanese pen out of my pocket, I went to work on my only non-fantasy project. It was funny almost. The characters were almost on Christmas break but just the other day I was considering bringing them to a beach in the spring. That'd have to wait. The heroine's having a nightmare, her love interest will comfort her, and then time for exams... I was going to have to make some plans for them for Christmas... the twins can put mistletoe somewhere maybe... I'll figure it out later. I started writing through the nightmare scene.

—Kurai—

"I claim the shower. All who enter....your head will be mine. If I hear the bathroom door open, you better run because Im sure I'll be able to find a knife somewhere in this place." I warned, standing up from the carpeted ground and off up the stairs. I quickly grabbed my clothes, heading to the bathroom.

It had been a slow day on KH-13. I had a nice conversation with Yuffie about gaming (one sided in two ways: I was the only gamer and she talked about half-related things for most of the time). I advanced in some of my games. Now I was in my room, watching Nerd Cubed videos. A fine day, in all. I'm a little bored right now, though. I'll head down and see what Sikota is doing. I left the room and padded down the stairway, bringing my computer with me. I sat down next to Sikota with the computer on my lap. I opened it. I went into my Steam game library and started FTL, a real-time strategy-action game in which you manage a spaceship. I continued the game I had started. I was about half-way through and I was doing exceptionally well. I glanced at Sikota's Big Binder of Creativity. "What'cha writin'?"

I was back in my room, waiting for my chance for the shower. Sodom currently held it, and I knew better than to disobey her..mostly because I really, really hate getting on people's nerves...though the threat of a knife was enough to ensure I never stepped foot in the bathroom whilst Sodom was in there.

I sighed, bored out of my mind as usual. Thankfully, this place had wi-fi, which meant: computer time! I booted up my laptop, and of course, the first thing I did before anything else was KH13.

"Sure..." I muttered, "I could talk to some of the peoples through chat...or I can walk a few feet and talk to them face to face. Hmm..social, or antisocial?" I said to myself, shrugging as I continued my computer 'ventures.

(Also, Natron, you're awesome for knowing who Nerd3 is.)

(*insert evil laugh* I knew better than to disobey her....though the threat of a knife was enough to ensure I never stepped foot in the bathroom whilst Sodom was in there Were you planing to step In there, Silver? OwO I knew someone was going to disrupt me. More heads from Sodom's head collection of DOOM. Number of heads: ZERO. Number of roleplay characters heads: Two. I think.)

It took about thirty minutes for me to take a shower. I am after all a woman and women are known for taking century long showers. I got dressed in some night clothes. Nothing fancy. Just some short sleeved black shirt and knee-length leggings I used for pajamas. Very simple. I dried my hair out of OCDness and put it up in a sloppy bun. Soon, I wondered off to my room, grabbing my warm navy blanket and rushing downstairs. However, I was quiet. I am the quietest person when it comes to almost anything. I barely make a sound walking or climbing up something, etc.

"Boo" I said with a grin once I snuck up behind Sikota.

Usually once I do this to people I scare them to death.

"Writing?" I asked, hopping on the couch beside Sikota.

My eyes caught his pin. It was different from other pins. How do I become fascinated with the smallest things.

"Soraaa....I want foood...." I complaint, turning to my companion.

My eyes darted back to the laptop screen. "Oop. One second." A pirate ship had appeared. I shall end it! I paused the game. Two shields, so not too bad. I'll have to use a missile or two. I'll target their shield room with my ion blast and missiles, then, and their weapons room with my burst laser. Oooh, they have missiles too. I'll put up my defense drone then. I have enough drone parts to spare, and I don't really want to take damage right now. Everything set. Now. . . Unpause! The battle took its course: my defense drone blasted down the enemy missiles, the enemy shields were taken out, and the weapons were locked down by lasers. The pirates broke into fragments. Substantial scrap, a couple fuel and missiles. A fine fight! FTL never failed to give me interesting space battles. "Eh. . . Is the shower open? I'll take it. Not that I'm salty or anything." I closed my laptop and stood up. "I'm leaving this here. Nobody sit on it, okay?" I left the laptop on the couch next to Sikota and walked up the stairs to the bathroom.
