Do you feel like people just need to take a hint sometimes?

Posted

I usually go by the, "if something's bothering you, then let them know. Otherwise how are they going to know they're bothering you?" So say I'm offended by something or a joke just hit too close to home, I'll pull my friend aside, privately of course, and let them know what's up. But that's between friends/.

With people I'm not as close to I tend to be a little...less outspoken, maybe? There's this guy that keeps messaging me (he's not from here) and it's always annoying because we never have anything to talk about.

"What's up?"

"Nothing much you?"

"Same"

Like that's literally it lol. The fact that I don't really care for him as a person is not helping this case, either. I can take a hint. I know the people in my school that don't like me, and frankly I don't blame them - chances are, I don't like them either. We can't all like everybody, and even I myself will admit to disliking people for no clear reason, which is why I don't give a shit when others feel the same way about me. I'm a normal human being, I can tell when someone is annoyed and/or doesn't want to be around me at a certain time. Most of us have that basic ability, but some people...yeah. It's like, I want to tell him off, but at the same time it's just really not worth it.

Call me a bitch all you want, I'm really not trying to be, but I just stop replying to the guy now. We're not even friends, he found me through one of my friends somehow. It's not creepy, or annoying, but just obnoxious - we obviously don't have good conversations, we OBVIOUSLY have nothing in common, so I just don't get why he keeps trying to talk to me.

Again, sorry if I sounded rude here but, come on, we've all had that one person, at some point in our lives (for me, a young girl from a small camp who would always chase me with boogers and kill ants) who you think just need to...take a hint.

This isn't a rant, I'm not mad or anything I just wanted to get this out of m head lol.

I agree with you on this.

Ignoring him was probably the best way to go about doing that.  There's no reason to develop bad blood with someone when there are alternatives.

Oh it's not past tense, he's still at it. (dun dun dun)That's already what I've been doing, haha. I could screenshot our chat history from other places and they're all just him saying "hey". I really don't know why he has this need to message me the second I get home from school when he has friends who talk to him daily.

Ooooooh, that means he liiiiikes yooou! Kidding, but really, mention to him in passing that you've found yourself a boyfriend (or better yet, a girlfriend) and see if he'll leave you alone. It works like a charm for me and my friends!
