Eight o' clock already. I'm supposed to go to some old town with my friends today. Some high school friends of mine. I was only eleven though, the youngest there, of course. I had barely skipped enough grades to become a freshman where I met everyone else. This was kind of like a dare...to stay a night...at some supposedly haunted town. I knew it wasn't true, though. But, of course...I was still scared. Frightened. I didn't really want to go...but I knew everyone would laugh and tease me again if I didn't go. There was that what if it really IS real factor that must've haunted everyone, more or less.
"Joshua, aren't you going to go with your friends? I'll take you over there." My mom called behind the hallways. "Yeah...but I have to be there by nine. We have an hour." I responded, with a raspy voice as an ominous chill stretched my spine. "It'll be like 8:30 by the time we get there, so let's just go now." She said, perfectly calm, but obviously worried for me at the same time. There were practical adults going to be there, at least. "...Okay." I mumbled. I walked to the car already.

Faith let Luke take her hand." It's just a joke." She told everyone.

"He pulls this stunt every year. I came last year too. He was trying to prank us." She laughed.

"He really did it up this year to,even paid someone not to come, and nice set up~" She grinned. (Faith thinks this is a joke.)

"Joshua, Sora....we are getting out of this hotel. Now." Rin concluded.

She grabbed Sora's hand, then Joshua's, then began dashing down the hallway, towards the exit.

"Y-yes...its me, Sora...." I barely said under my breath. Clenching tightly onto Rin's hand and staying I'm between her and Sora. Behind me, I could see Lily on her way towards us as well. Her words frightened me even more though. "You're kidding! Right!? That was just Jack, wasn't it!?" I exclaimed. I could hardly tell what Jack would do. I was already on the verge of crying in fear, though...I was always a bit...paranoid. As we ran towards the exit, there was another building on the other side of the street. As usual of course. But there was something inside. Pressing its face against the window like a child in a boring car ride. It just...sat there. Its face against the window, seemingly glaring into the hotel. Except it...didn't have a face...really. Well...you could see the outlining of a face...like a head, except it was only a layer of skin. Despite not apparently having eyes...it was still able to rear its head directly into Rin's direction. But it still...sat there.

(WHY SCHEMER. SLENDER GIRL. WHY.)

"GYAA!" Rin yelped at the figure in the next building.

"I volunteer for us to leave perminately. Who is with me?" She snapped, raising her hand.

Sora clung to Rin's hand, not even thinking of ever refusing..

She barely heard Rin as she started crying.

"I want to go home!" She started sobbing into Rin's shoulder. "I want to go home!"

As the face stared, Sora screamed. She buried her face in Rin's shoulder and screamed madly, clinging to Rin in a death grip

Rin kept her hand raised, it soon just falling to her side.

"This is ridiculous! Why did I even come here?!" She yelled, looking down at Sora.

She wasn't mad at her....more mad at herself then anything.

I gasped at the sight of the...thing just rearing its head. I gasped, then I went speechless. I couldn't speak, I just held onto Rin and Sora, crying. All the cars that had actually stayed here— the ones some of us brought like Jack's— their tires were all cut down. They were all completely flat, and the gates of the town were locked tight. "S-Sora...Rin...look....." I muttered. I pointed to the window if the next building. That....thing...it DID have a face. I could see the outline of the eyes...and its cartoonishly wide smile. But that was under its skin. Its entire face waas UNDER the skin! Even that...disturbingly wide smile. It still stared at us doing nothing...just staring at us...and smiling.

Sora was shaking with fear, sobbing into Rin's shoulder.

"Wh-where is Ezekiel and Jack? I-I wanna g-go now!"

With her face buried in Rin's shoulder, Sora had not noticed they were trapped.

"Sora.....we can't leave...." Rin stated seriously.

Rin herself was on the verge of tears, looking down at Joshua....then at the face.

"Jack isn't himself anymore...." She muttered.

(Jack/Ezekiel)

Jack immediately jumped out of his seat, and flipped the table, partially due to anger, partially due to fear.

"What the hell was that?!" He shouted. "Who the hell is messing with me? When I find out I'm going to kick someone's butt!"

Ezekiel sat up, but was still on the floor, and aside from some heavy breathing, he was completely silent.

(So Jack is just as clueless as we are...) Ezekiel thought. (I can tell when he's acting and when he's legitimately in the dark about things, and this looks serious.... That means if this kind of stuff is real, that my brother may have actually been.... He must've been so hurt that no one would believe him, even his own brother... but I was so young and scared, I didn't know what to believe him... How could I have made him feel so lonely...) He continued to contemplate these issues in his head.

Jack kicked his chair. "I don't know about you guys, but I am getting the hell out of here! Nice knowing you all, now peace!" And with that, he stormed out in the opposite doorway away from the direction Sora Rin and Joshua had gone from.

There once was a smiling man. A smiling man who looooooved children, so much! So much, the man would always have some treats waiting for them in his big van. The children would gather allll around the smiling man when they knew what he had. And so he brought every child with him, and he smiled! He always smiled. He always did. The smiling man wasn't only for the kids though! He was for everyone! Under their beds, and in their closets, and hidden under the staircase, sometimes even in the garage. But most of all, he liked to be right there, at your bedroom window. Just right there, staring through it. Watching you.

Step, step, step, step. He was coming. Just...a man. A smiling man.

Jack says bye. He didn't want to listen to the Smiling Man.

Charlie stared at the ouiji board on the table. Jack had just left, as well as Sora, Rin, and Joshua. He was still a bit surprised from the events that had just happened. He breathed deeply, and kept himself from freaking out. Only Ezekiel, Luke, F.S., Lily, and himself were left in the hotel room. Charlie began nervously plucking on his guitar. Mostly minor chords. "Well... that was weird." Charlie vocalized what everyone was surely thinking.

Luke let out a harsh breath. His heart was beating fast, making a rapid babump babump as he attempted to calm himself. Things were escalating to a point where even he was starting to get frightened. Luke clutched onto Faith's hand tightly, not wanting to let go for any reason.

"We..what..what the hell is happening?" Luke said to himself, "This is..none of this...it shouldn't be..what.." He stammered. He wasn't losing himself--but he was frightened. More than he though he would be.

Ezekiel managed to snap out of his trance.

He shook his head, and examined the hotel lobby they were in.

"Why are we splitting up?" He asked aloud, though to no particular person. "Splitting up is the last thing we need to do. We need to stick together if we are going to get out of here. Now where are Sora Rin and Joshua?" He picked himself off the ground and dusted off his jeans. (I am not dying here,) He thought. (And there is no way I'm going to let anyone else die here without a fight. I need redemption for what happened to my brother. I need it.)

"Jack is getting pretty crazy this year..." Faith muttered.

She let go of Luke's hand and hugged him. "Now hush boy." She told him and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.

(Mood light'n'ed.)

I ended up slumping down the wall and sitting miserably, looking at the ground and the ground only. I couldn't...don't want to look at anything else right now. I just sat, wrapping my arms around my knees and huddling as I sat back on the wall. "We aren't going to survive...are we? We're...we're...going to die, here." I mumbled, breaking out into even more tears. The more I and everyone else cried, the more the faceless smile widened behind its skin. My eyes widened though. Without looking at really anything almost...I heard. I heard bloodsplatter.

As soon as Jack was gone, the Ouija board rumbled. 'Y-O-U D-I-D-N-T L-I-S-T-E-N.' It went letter by letter, stating that fact. 'E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E W-H-O W-A-S H-E-R-E H-A-S A S-T-O-R-Y.' It showed again, at exceptionally abnormal speed. Jack didn't listen. Everyone who used to live here...apparently had their own experiences. Like that faceless creature...that was one. So...something...there is SOMETHING...that happened everywhere in this town. The supernatural and abnormal...everywhere here.

(^mood darkened....)

Ezekiel face palmed himself.

"God, I swear, you try to make friends and they're into the occult..." He muttered. He looked to the others. "Well guys, what is the plan?" He couldn't believe that F.S. still thought this was a joke. If only Ezekiel could convince himself it was a joke as well...

"Well, what does this thing want us to do? It wants to play with us, and unless we play along, we are going to end up like Jack."

He looked to the ceiling.

"Alright, what do you want us to do?" He asked out loud. He wasn't tying to offend the being that was toying with them, he only wanted clarity, which many others in the room was probably thinking the same.

(Lily's actually not in the hotel room anymore, she ran out of the room not long after Joshua did. She's currently standing in the same area as Rin, Sora and Joshua.)

Lily shrieked, her eyes as wide as sand-dollars. This simply couldn't be happening, it didn't make any sense. Stuff like this doesn't happen! What's going on?! She glanced over at the others by her, they all appeared terrified as well. Lily backed up a few steps, holding back another scream. Is that the smiling man? Lily wondered, clenching her hands into fists. Considering everything that's happened so far, I'm willing to bet that the 'smiling man' is just as dangerous as that thing that possessed Jack said. "Guy's come on, l-let's get out of here," Lily said to Joshua, Rin and Sora, though honestly she rather doubted that there would be any way out of there until morning.

Sora cried harder.

"Rin, what's going to happen to us?" She asked her friend.

The poor girl was shaking horribly, hugging Rin tightly.

"I don't know what's going to happen to us." Rin stated.

She looked at Lily and nodded. Rin looked over to Joshua, and got him back on his feet.

"Come on. We have to go." She said, even though tears were flowing down her face.

Sora didn't let go of Rin.

"Do-do t leave me alone." Sora stammered, sobbing still.

She obviously was completely terrified and not thinking straight at all.

"O-okay...Lily...Rin...." I still mumbled. I couldn't say anything any louder right now. Like...when you want to scream...but are too deep in fear and shock thay you just can't. It was like that. Before leaving with Lily and the others, I stood up closely beside Rin...and...I don't know why...but I looked again. The sack of skin that was in the next building was still there. It didn't smile anymore. After all, it wasn't the smiling man but still...it used to smile so sheepishly. Now that we were leaving its sight, it frowned, scratching its fingernails back and forth on the window. Just a scritch...scratch...scritch...scratch, before I looked away. "Let's go! We need to f-find the others...now...." I muttered. The door to the hotel then slammed shut on Lily, Rin, Sora, and I. We were trapped outside. And the rest were trapped inside as the door locked and the first floor windows shut. The thing at the next window then smiled again, watching us once more.

Upstairs in the hotel where everyone else was, a bloodsplatter was heard again. Just a kursplesh. Then it moved. Thud, thud, truuuudge. It was as if it crawled without legs. Using its arms as its torso trudged across the floor. With no legs. Leaving a trail of blood. It was faint, but it came closer to the stairs that led down to the rest of the group. Thud.........thud.........truuuudge. Thud......thud......truuuudge. Thud...thud...truuuudge. Thud...thud...truuuudge. Thud, thud, trudge; thud, thud, trudge. It came faster...and faster...and faster.

The smiling man left the hotel already. Not there. But Jack was still in the hotel. His eyes were popped out and hanging on an ocular cord beside his cheeks. And his face was stitched. Stitched to what seemed like an impossibly wide smile. You could see all the fluid on the floor beside him. His tears...his blood...and his ocular fluids.

Outside: beyond the gates. There was the sign. WELCOME! to Hellen City.

But that...just wasn't it. Some letters were scratched off and dissolved into the wood...it read something else now. Someone...must have taken off the '-en City' from that sign......

It now read:

WELCOME! to Hell

"W-W-Welcome to hell??!!" Rin yelled.

"Joshua....Sora....we need to find somewhere safe." she whispered, her eyes glancing over to the thing in the window.

No no no! Lily ran to the door and began pulling on the doorknob in desperation. Oh why had she ever agreed to come to this town! Lily nodded, she fully agreed with Rin, they needed to find somewhere safe. "Yes, come on!" Lily said. She turned in a circle, unsure where they could go that would be safe. If there was such a place now.

That thing over in the window frowned again. As soon as it heard Rin saying she wanted us to leave here...it just frowned. It brought its hand and placed it over the same window he was staring into. "Wh-where do we go...?" I asked Rin nervously. The thing from before then brought its finger and tapped on the glass. Just tapping on it. And tapping on it. Until it began cracking. That's when it smiled again.
