...Is the universe of FF X the same place where later in the future, FF VII takes place in the same universe but different planet? I mean, it was hinted at in the FF X ultimania, and since FF XV and XIII have similar mythologies and could take place in the same universe(Or Planet, we'll have to see how LR FFXIII before we assume about that first), i think its very possible.

It is canon that in FFX lore, they eventually went off planet and colonized Gaia, where centuries later FFVII would go onto occur. No comment on any connection between titles extended from that.

That's what I've heard, yeah.

FF stories are so hard to keep up with. My mind is pretty much blank at the beginning of each one so I just assumed they all happened in different dimensions

Thats what i thought, but after finding this out on TV tropes that FF VII takes place after FF X in the same universe, and now that FF XV and FF XIII have similar Mythos, the FF games may take place in the same universe, just different planets.

I...I did not know this o.o

I always assumed every game hit the reset button in terms of storylining, but... f**k, I need to do some research I guess. I don't know a damn thing about this series.

Its ok, they never stated this in game.

And thats how far the games are connected.

Why is it such a big deal that Cid has a rocket then? Clearly space exploration exists if this is the case.

Well, by the time VII actually happens, the start of Gaia is ancient history. Over time, space travel probably disappeared from record.

Seems like they're bending over backwards just to have these games pointlessly fit together.

Yeah I thought it was pretty pointless myself. It's honestly best just to ignore the connection.
