I'm at the champion tournament at the PWT and the only thing that stands between me and victory is none other than Cynthia and her stupid overpowered Garchomp....hooolly shit.I meet her every single time I enter the tournament whether on the first or the second round and everytime she'll send her Garchomp, use Sword Dance and finally rape my team with outrage with ONE HIT.

I tried sending Articuno first but BAAM...Outrage...game over.

I need help, recommend to me whatever Ice type so I can rape that Garchomp and move on

I use Poliwrath. I love Poliwrath. Just give him Ice Punch. Use X Defense if needed. I don't usually, though. Selling them makes good money. Have plenty of Revives on you. Use any accuracy down attacks you can.

You can't use items in PWT

I see. Never played in PWT. So, do your best with defense building moves and accuracy attacks.

Lucario with Focus Sash: Ice Punch->Extreme Speed

Cloyster with Focus Sash: Shell Break->Icicle Spear

Oh look, Focus Sash is the answer. It's not hard tbh.

Focus Sash would provide me an additional turn before I faint.

Ice punch might kill it in one hit since my Lucario has a high attack stat....but I'm not sure about it.

I hate Shell break though, yes it increase your atk and sp.atk but the defense will be shit because of that

But you're raping everything afterwards. not to mention you'll be down to 1HP, making the defense drop forgettable.

Yeah, but when most of your opponents are equipped with Focus blast(Trust me,everyone in the championWorld Leaders Tournaments at least has 1 Pokemon with Focus Blast)Then you need every bit of defense

Maybe it's because I somehow EV train all my Pokemon for extremely high stats in all areas but speed, but I never has a problem with Garchomp. But simply put, Dive, Fly, any move that makes you disappear from the field besides Dig are good ways, and if you have the one move that makes a little clone of you, and use a high defense ice type with Focus Sash you will be fine. Or, you could always get Sawk with Sturdy and Ice Punch.

You forgot Shell Break ups speed by 2 stages.

I'm not sure where I heard this, but Garchomp can't fly, but iin the anime, Cynthia's Garchomp can fly...

Edit: To beat Cynthia's Garchomp, just find a strong ice type move an teach it to a Pokemon that is resistant to a Dragon type.

I use Weavile with a Choice Band and use Ice Shard

There are tons of ways to beat that Garchomp.

First strategy is: Choice Scarf + Ice move.

All you need to do is have a Snover or Abomasnow (Ability Snow Warning, which summons Hail once Abomasnow steps onto the battlefield) WITH Choice Scarf to beat him. Have Blizzard on your movepool, and shoot your 100% Accurate 120 Blizzard STAB move at everything. Of course Garchomp has a Focus Sash, but it's health will be at 1 HP. If Abomasnow dies, then switch to a Pokémon with a priority damaging move (Ice Shard, Quick Attack, Extremespeed)

Second strategy: What OmegaForte said, Cloyster with Shell Smash & Focus Sash WILL work. Who cares about the Defense/SpD drop since you will have your Speed, Attack and Special Attack doubled already and you will be able to kill everything. Make sure its ability is Skill Link, to bring the best of it. At that point Garchomp is dead and Icicle Spear will penetrate through Garchomps Focus Sash.

Third Strategy: Mamoswine with Ice Shard plus Focus Sash/Choice Band OR Weavile with Ice Shard/Punch. Weavile is already too fast for Garchomp so Ice Punch is a better move and give it Focus Sash incase it doesn't work and you need to 2HKO it, or just give it Choice Band and hope for the best.

Mamoswine can get Ice Shard from Swinub at lvl 28, not in any other evolution.

Weavile can get both Ice Shard and Ice Punch as an Egg Move.

There are dozens of ways to counter Garchomp, it's not hard.
