A few days ago, some leaked imaged to the web showing off what appeared to be the finalized menus for Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. In addition to the games themselves, most interestingly it seemed that Square Enix had decided to go ahead with the inclusion of the much desired Eternal Calm and Last Mission content included in the original PS2 International releases. While the original source for these images is somewhat suspect, some new evidence has surfaced today which might prove that this is indeed the real deal.

 

Today, Sony issued a new Vita update – version 2.60 – which added functionality to easily upload and download your cloud saved data via PlayStation Plus, which is done via the icon added to the game Live Area screen. Curiously, that same icon appears on one of the leaked images displaying the start menu for FFX-2. Although this is not an official confirmation by any means, it certainly looks convincing – especially when you consider the absolute quality of the images in question.

Square Enix has yet to make an official announcement, but when they do we’ll be sure to let it be known.

Looks like it could be the real deal. I'd say it looks a little to simple, but 1.5's was a lot more basic than this.

 

By the way, I've heard of Last Mission, but never heard of the Eternal Calm. What was that? ._.

No clue. Im not spoiling myself on X, so i have no clue what either of them are, but ive heard people discussing the Last Mission, so i assume its bonus content.

I think Last Mission was an extra chapter taking place after X-2 or something, I'll have to look up Eternal Calm. I already spoiled X's ending, and I've played through most of it, so I think I'm good to go and look it up.

 

EDIT: So Eternal Calm is a prologue to X-2, and I guess Last Mission is the epilogue. That makes sense.

The new secret ending for FF X which is available only in this HD collection, takes place a year after X-2 from what i've seen, and it seems that Tidus and Yuna have spent a year together.

X-3 would probably explain the gap of time between X-2 and FF7.

I got the idea it'd be closer in time to the new secret movie, so a year after X-2. That's always possible, though. Especially considering how much Square loves to milk VII...

No, ive heard you only need to 100% X. But they could be withholding info from us taht we need to 100% both of them though.... -_-

I want a prequel, too. From what I saw, X-2 needed WAY more Auron and Jecht.
