Nintendo Wii U - General Discussion

Posted

This week’s Media Create sales figures show that Nintendo latest home console, the Wii U, has sold one million units in Japan since its launch last year. Interestingly, the console reached the figure in thirty three weeks and the PlayStation 3 reached the figure in thirty eight weeks. However, it should be noted that the PlayStation 3 launched with a ridiculously high price tag back in 2006.

  • The Wii U is an amazing system and you really have to own one to see how great it is. The games will come and they'll be great. Much like the Wii was to many people I'm sure the Wii U will be people's

No way exciting - hey look, it's a string of mario games..... these games could easily work on any console by the looks of things.... It's more an advert to say that we won't be able to play any new Mario games unless we switch to Nintendo, and even then we likely won't miss much..... the only big loss is the new Smash Bros :/

Dude...Megaman.

I emailed nintendo asking about a new ambassador program for current wii u owners, this is what they had to say.

Hello,

Thanks for writing. I'll be certain to pass along your comments about the Wii U price change to the relevant departments here at Nintendo. Your feedback is extremely important to us and will be taken into consideration when making similar marketing decisions in the future.

I know this isn't what you were hoping for, but in this particular situation we don't plan to offer free games, Nintendo eShop credit, or a new Ambassador Program to those who have already purchased a Wii U console.

Again, thank you for sharing your feelings with us. We hope you understand our position on this and that you'll continue to enjoy our products for many more years to come.

Sincerely,

I love this thing. I draw on it all the time. Though lately I've been lacking motivation. xD Anyway, can't wait for Smash 4, MK8 and especially Sonic Lost World.

WHY U NO GAMECUBE WII U???

The Virtual Wii can technically support GC games -- the Wii U just can't read the discs, and there's no way to use a GC controller.
