Have You Ever Played This Rare Gem?

Posted

Back in 2001, Electronic Arts published a Gamecube game developed by Hudson Inc. (Mario Party developers) and Disney Interactive. It was a fun game to play during my childhood and is definitely one I'm looking forward to playing again, having bought it recently. If you've played this game before, then you may have already guessed the title. This rare gem is: Disney's Party

I've never heard of it.  But back then I didn't use the internet (so wasn't kept up to date with gaming stuff) and there's no way my parents would give a damn.  They just bought stuff that looked good when they went into a store

Never even known about it's existence

But since it's from EA.,..I'm not surprised

Well this is from before EA got its bad reputation. As a matter of fact it was before EA got their logo, so you saw Electronic Arts completely spelled out on the screen.

They released the lotr battle for middle earth so they werent all bad, but never heard of this gem, what was the game based around, how did it work?

Disney's Party was a party game, much like Mario Party, but Disney instead. Since Hudson worked on it, it was an acceptable party game for Nintendo and not what people would call a rip off, seeing how it's a Nintendo game anyway.Players had to win minigames to get stars that they'd place on their gameboard. You had to make rows like in Bingo to win. You could place other items on the board too to make your Bingo. Of course the person who completes their row(s) ends the game, but just like Mario party, that didn't make them the winner. The winner is whoever gets the most rewards at the end, of course, the gameboard reward was worth two stars.Another note to mention is that there isn't a dice rolling factor to the game. Instead everyone used a wheel together and chose where to go with it. The wheel is random though, so anyone could win that and everyone'd go wherever the wheel chose for them to go.

Yeah, but Disney's Party is one of those games that are like the Direct to DVD type of situation.

I grew up the same exact way. I had no idea what the internet was until around 10 or 11 years old (maybe even 12). I was never up to date on anything. Didn't even know what E3 was at the time xD
