I'm a Nintendo Fan but...

Lets be honest, they firetrucked up with the wii u. They wanted to attract the casual gamer again with the fact that the gamepad looks like a tablet, and attract the hardcore gamer because its an actual controller. It sounds good on paper, but they did everything wrong with the wii u. They unveiled it too early and released it too early. You'd think they would have all the time in the world to develop games for it alongside the wii u but all they gave us was a mini game collection, another nsmb game, and some sloppy ports. Why didn't they unveil it alongside the ps4 and xbone so they could have comparable hardware for 3rd partys to work with and a plethora of desirable games at launch. They don't need a wind waker port, they need a epic zelda adventure with realistic graphics, they need a metroid as good as super metroid, and they could've gotten a ton of 3rd parties on board with games also on the ps4 and xbone,  thats what sells, not miiverse. I'm not entirely sure why they did all of this. They need to get their heads out of asses and get new top management.

Okay I agree with you on almost all of this except one. You said Zelda should have realistic graphics. That stood out because, Wind Waker, yeah were the graphics cartoony, but it worked. Skyward Sword has a similar case, and that game was fantastic. I didn't like SS's graphics but it grew on me and I slowly started to like it. Twilight Princess's graphics which may seem to be as close as realistic, they just didn't click with me for some reason. Now I'm not hating you for saying that, but it's just a game can be just amazing without realistic graphics.  I said my piece.

...........are you sure it would of actually been a good idea to unveil it alongside ps4 and xbone?

It isn't that bad. I have one and I enjoy it. As long as I'm enjoying myself I don't care all that much. They may have done some things I question, but at the end of the day, I have fun. So, It's fine by me.

Yes, and I said why. They're living off of the 3ds's sales right now and they could do it in any other situation. That way nintendo would have hardware that was as good if not better than the ps4 and xbone and the 3rd partys and nintendo would have a lot more to work with and we could have ps4/xbone games on the wii u.

But nintnedo has never been about pretty graphics and such its been this way a while now, with the ds 2 generations and the wii 1 behind in graphics(not concering next gen).So i doubt they would of made a console with that kind graphical capablity anyway. That said I believe the wii u might just have a turn around next year.

again, more to work with, less limitations

You make these arguments and say that's "what sells" but a lot of these "issues" you bring up, the Wii had more or less the same but ended up selling more than the PS3 and 360 soo...

well as i under stand it, the Japanese(Nintendo included) have this philosophy: if it ain't broke don't fix it. if it works then stick to it. that's why you don't see huge things coming constantly from Japan, it's because they have a very slow and deliberate way of doing buisness and it takes a looong time to take different stratigies.  at least that's what i remeber reading :) let me know if i'm wrong.

My opini-SHUT UP CRONA NO ONE CARES. No Ragnarok, now go away or ill tell them about what you do when I fall asleep! *Grumble* Fine.Anyway, I think the Wii U is a great console. Yes it was released early, yes it dosent have realistic graphics, but dose it matter? Being a guy who falls kinda in the middle of hardcore and casual, being that I do unlock everything and do everything, but I do it at a slow pace to my fitting and never really stop playing a game, I think the way the Wii U is is great and wouldn't change it. Nintendo, like Keyblade Master said, isn't about powerful consoles or flashy graphics. They in each generation make a good console and push its abilitys to their limits and beyond in many titles, doing things no one thought possible previously with its hardware, and at the same time, making good games family's can play, as well as hardcore gamers.

Well, that does make sense so I don't blame them.

My problem with Nintendo is that although they have great first party line ups, there 3rd party seems a bit poor, although this is picking up with the  Wii u ( Sonic Lost World, Wonderful 101 which are both exclusives mind you) It doesn't really have anything going for it because they have no worth while games for the system at this current point at time (Maybe Pikmin 3 but I've never played a Pikmin game so I wouldn't know)  I'll get a Wii U when they are dirt cheap because I'd only buy the thing for its exclusives and its price doesn't justify that for me at the moment. I get a great array of third party titles through Steam anyway which you can pick up games very cheap so I use that and the PS3 to get my variety whilst I use Nintendo consoles to get great exclusives (The 3DS has been really good for games and it is more worthwhile than a Wii U at the moment IMO)

When games like Smash Bros come out that will really get the Wii U rolling ( Not 'Mario look at me we're doing retro revivals again WHO REMEMBERS MARIO 3' 3D World, but that will probably still sell loads of copies.

The Wii U is great if you're a fan of the games Nintendo has to offer because its a love letter to Nintendo fans, you literally get groups dedicated to games on the Wii U which you can communicate with other fans, the problem is that it only appeals to that demographic and not a wider audience, which may be seen as a good thing because it's focusing on their fans, but commercially it isn't a great idea because the third party line up SUCKS.

This was also a problem with the Wii, although it had AMAZING games (Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Sonic Colours and SO MUCH MORE) It had a alot of shovel-ware party games because it was easy to abuse the motion gimmick it had.

The Wii U is a nice piece of hardware overall and I will like to buy one only when it goes down in price because I don't think a few games will justify it  for me just yet if the  third party line up isn't too great, It's a love letter to Nintendo fans if you love their series of games which I do, but I also like variety in my games which I can get through Steam ETC.

I would love to play games like Lost World and Smash Bros when they come out but it really doesn't justify it for me if that's all the Wii U has to offer to me right now, but I am also looking forward to that new Zelda.

The WII U wasn't a failure, it just doesn't appeal to the wider audience, just fans of Nintendo itself, if that''s bad or good is left up to interpretation

Extremely biased discussion/argument since I was a PS4 for KH3 but gonna wait as it won't be out for a while and hopefully the PS4 gets more games which I actually want by then because at the moment, only Knack interests me.
