Ben Affleck is set to star as Batman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, Warner Bros. has announced.

As reported by The Wrap, Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros. made the following statement earlier today:

“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

Honestly, I love this casting. I'm glad they chose a younger Bruce Wayne instead of an older, 40 year old one.

C'mon guys, remember when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman

Even though I don't get the casting, I hope he does alright. But seriously, there are a lot of people reacting negatively to this and it's getting to be too much.

 

It's not his appearance that's going to be the issue.

 

It's not his size that's going to be the issue. He can put on muscle in no time.

 

He's already Bruce Wayne in real life, so, that's not going to be an issue.

 

Anyone can change their voice.

 

And he's an actor. A good actor.

 

The only reason the internet is really worried about this casting is because they're a bunch of whiny little babies. There is no factual reason that you should be concerned other than just "I'm concerned." That's your only reason.

 

Not to mention... I can't count how many times a person has been cast in a role to thunderous disapproval..

 

Heath Ledger as the Joker? People hated the idea. And when the movie hit people lost their shit about how good it was.

Michael Keaton as Batman back in the day wasn't met with a great deal of applause either, and people still talk about how good he was.

 

Quit your whining. You can be cautiously pessimistic, sure, there's nothing saying he's going to be fantastic. But there's nothing saying he's going to be horrible either.

 

He's a good actor with a lot of potential.

 

Deal with it.

I think It's strange....But I was one of the people that was confused about Heath Ledger playing joker...So, it might work out...But it's still weird.

I have a wait and see attitude.I think the whining and crying is hilarious though .

You know, now every time I see Ben, I have to picture him in a suit. lol
