Final Mix: Beginner: Being with rare items in easy mode

Final Mix: A balanced mode recommended for first-timers

Final Mix:Proud : Encounter tough enemies for thrilling battles

Is there really a difference between proud mode and expert mode whats the difference and is there a 4th mode critical mode? Im guess thats only in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.

Critical mode was introduced in KH2 Final Mix, so we didn't get it until Birth By Sleep as MasterXemnas has said.

I honestly believe Proud Mode is Expert Mode, they just changed it to a better sounding name.

Boo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proud mode is the evolved name of Expert mode from the original Kingdom Hearts.

Proud Mode is not exactly the same, they made a couple changes. The actual damage scaling between Standard and Proud is the same as Normal and Expert, however in Final Mix, nearly all attacks are stronger then their Vanilla KH1 counterparts. So its not that Standard and Proud are harder then their original difficulties, the game's difficulty has been buffed in general with an Easy Mode tacked on. However, there is something to take into consideration, quite a few new abilities in Final Mix are downright broken. Sliding Dash, Leaf Bracer and Combo Master are all quite overpowered and will probably counteract the difficulty buff.

Still much needed abilities the combat in Kingdom Hearts 1 while I loved Kingdom Hearts 1 for the experience was often slow and hard to level up especially early in the game. These new abilities will make the combat system more fluid like Kingdom Hearts 2 but no where near the combos in that game.
