How do you get the dang Dream Eaters to NOT just stand there looking ( cute ) stupid during combat? 

Anyone got some suggestions? 'Cause I'm getting my butt whooped, and all the Meow Wow-thingy wants to do is jump up and down and chitter. Cute... but useless in battle.

They aint useless. you just need better ones

If you raise their affinity they are more kin to fighting I presumed (I'm pretty sure that's how it worked "I like you owner, I'm gonna do something here").  

And you have to make sure they're on a disposition with actual attacks.  There are some dispositions that that are just healing moves, doing nothing, mixture or offense priority

Raising their affinity is best done by spending 100DP for the Affinity boost, go around playing til you're near about to drop, going to the dream eater menu, playing the Water Barrel's games, feeding them til they glow and then petting them (petting them while they're glowing gives more so it's more time efficient in that order), and repeating the process with each DE in your party til they stop glowing then go out and drop to the next character and repeat the process again

 

I always ended up getting mine to level 5 or 6 before I maxed their ability board and replaced them

Now I KNOW I'm a DDD noob: 90% of this went right over my head. I need to get out of Traverse Town, I think. Only had the game since last night.

Uhmmm... My Bat seems to be blizzard-ey, and Meow Wow keeps trying ( and failing ) to heal Sora. 

That's probably wrong, but I'm new at DDD. Still got stuff to figure out.

When they're a certain disposition you can do the appropriate pet/rub/poke in the right area to turn them to the one you want but you need to know what they are first, it should say under their stats box in the DE menu when you see all 3 and can play with them

Fool. I pretty much only worried about the abilities they gave me. I wasn't too concerned with them fighting with me.

If you see thay don't help in battle, try upgrading them with Link Points. Or if you have maxed them out get some new ones I think there is always one new Spirit in ever world. Good luck!

And yes, I believe you do it when playing with your Dream Eaters. Go to the pause menu, hit Dream Eaters, then when your camera thing is set just put the card on a flat surface and look at it through the 3DS lens (make sure you're not too close). It should focus on it and the Dream Eater on your card will pop up.

No, I think you only get one DE per card. I had a situation somewhat like that but my card had the DE symbol and I got a random one. So maybe you'll get one of the four pictured on your card or something completely different.

Yeah, but it does make for a nice surprise. Most of the ones I have are my enemies too, it's quite confusing when you have 2 of the same DE fighting O__o
