The Immortal Grand Prix, IGPX for short. The most popular competition in the mid 21st century. Giant mechs race against each other and beat each other into submission to take the checkered flag. Normally races are divided by one team against another, each team featuring 3 mechs designed after their respective positions, the speedy forward, the balanced midfielder, and the brutal defender. There are three leagues. IG-3, IG-2, IG-1, each more professional than the rest. Now, a new generation of racers will compete one on one in the IG-I (IGPX Independent) in attempt to being accepted into the IG-3 and eventually climbing to the IG-1 championships.

 

 

Rules and Stuff

-Please keep swearing to a minimum

-Romance is allowed. Nothing more explicit than a kiss

-You must stick with the RP. Let me know if you'd like to retire, but if you just leave, we will all scorn you

-If someone's not posting, assist me in pestering them to do so

-follow this and the official thread

-This topic can also be used for general discussion as to what's occurring in the actual RP

-multiple characters allowed. Up to one of each mech type per RPer

-Remember you're amateur pilots driving giant robots, nothing too ninja when your fighting in a race

-Races are three laps. Each page in the RP will account for a lap. When courses grow more specific, I'll mention what obstacles come to pass after a certain amount of posts.

-If you're not racing, feel free to account for off the track drama with fellow characters

-Type Fight to the Finish at the end of your sign up sheet to prove that you've read all these

-I guess you're allowed to sabotage mechs before a race, but if you're disqualified from the IGPX either for that, or foul racing, or off the track offense, you'll be banned from the RP as well

-We're starting out in the IG-I, so you'll be racing for yourself, but eventually you'll have to form a team consisting of one of each mech type and you'll probably be stuck with them until the RP dies/finishes

-This RP will last a very long time. Starting out in the IG-I and progressing all the way to the IG-1. It'll probably end with the IG-1 championships. If you'd like, we could all do another season in the IG-1 afterward

Name: First name Last Name (potential nickname)

Age: 15 would be prodigious, 16+ works too, probably less than 30 would help too

Gender: Male or Female. One or the other, they can look both or cross-dress if you want; they had to be born one or the other though.

Appearance: Pictures appreciated. Descriptions accepted.

Bio: Your character's past. Primarily what got them involved in the IGPX

Mech Type: Forward (primarily speed based) Midfielder (Balanced and maneuverable) or Defender (heavy hitting)

Color Scheme: Your mech gets two colors to decorate it

Other Mech Details: Patterns, etc. Optional section.

Mech Upgrade: You get one custom upgrade to your mech, you get another upgrade every time you advance a league. These can enhance performance or give you an edge in battle. I'll make a judgement call on whether or not it's allowed

Bio: Blake has always had a need for speed. Once he turned sixteen, he began training. The next year, he applied for the IGPX Independent. He realized the thrill of fighting and his hasty impulsiveness has gone down slightly and was given a brother: bloodthirst. In a figurative sense of course. Blake just enjoys being able to beat someone. Fighting and racing had become his favorite things and he was ready to excel in it all.

Mech Type: Midfielder

Color Scheme: Black and Red

Other Mech Details: Mostly black. The red is a lightning-like pattern along back and limbs and flamy on the mech's shoulders

Mech Upgrade: Sonic pulse at the end of each of the mech's limbs to either give him a quick burst of speed or deliver a brutal blow. Can only use 5 times in one race.

Appearance: black hair with a lime green streak, brown eyes, medium build and height, very stolid face

Bio: Ferro has been in the business for ten years now. He came from a rich family, and decided one day to try out IGPX racing. His parents purchased a mech for him, and it turned out he had an aptitude for it. Coming from this background, it wouldn't be surprising for Ferro to be a snooty know-it-all, but he isn't. While he generally dislikes new and inexperienced racers, he will still give them pointers. He prefers to race with experienced racers like himself, where he proves to be a dependable and competent teammate.

Mech type: Midfielder

Color scheme and other mech details: black and lime green, slightly more black. The green forms patterns that resemble an electronic circuit with 0's and 1's, like binary code.

Mech upgrade: the arms can be placed on the ground to function as an extra set of wheels for increased speed. They must be raised to be used in combat, so this upgrade does not function when attacking.

Appearance: Black hair, brown skin, eyes, 5ft 9,white jacket and jeans, purple shirt with a white gear on it and purple shoes.

 

Bio: As far back as he could remember, Maho was always into mechs and the IGPX races.  He was bit of a mech engineer, always building various parts and etc in his own workshop.  After years of watching, he thought he finally wanted to be a part of the races.  After months of construction, he built his own mech and plans on being in the IGPX.

 

Mech type: Defender

 

Color scheme:  White and purple. 

 

Other mech details: White body, purple gear symbol on the torso, purple slanted lines on the arms, purple legs, and gear shaped shoulder pads.

 

Mech upgrade: A motor that shifts layers to different areas, like moving parts of the legs to the arms to improve attack power, but decreases speed.  Also can shift upper armor into the legs for more speed, but lowers defense.

As the mechs would speed down the track, she couldn't help but relate. All her life she had been running away. When she decided that she was ready, Iris joined the IG-I.

Color Scheme: Pink and white

Other Details: Mainly white, the pink traces its way along the arms legs, and cover most of the hips and back area. Her mech also has a long pony tail the same color as her hair

Upgrade: Her sensors allow her to more easily sight and exploit her opponents' slipstream
