FINAL FANTASY: XIII. (The RP.).

Posted

All right everyone! today we begin the RP!! i'll start off :], ahem:

Across the World, at all of its known settlements was a message being spread, by the man named "Taison Moore", saying "My fellow subjects, rejoice! for today, the Fal'Cie have chosen yet again a L'Cie, now the Thirteenth, destined to lead us all into prosperity that is the next World after this one, rejoice!! my fellow people, rejoice!!! for soon, very soon....the start of the "Reimaging" will begin." said Taison whilst people all over the World started to exactly, as he put it, rejoice at the words of a new L'Cie having been born and will go on to create a whole brand new World for them through the journey that is called the Reimaging.

(This song plays, as the news by Taison is spread out practically everywhere-https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=As6Bv1e68hE.).

"What's wrong?" Aura asked before she noticed the raven. "Uh? Oh, it's that raven from before"Reya was looking at the raven before she looked at the giant."By "She already knows." I assume you are referring to Cassandra, right?"While Reya was waiting for an answer, the Oracle was staring at the raven."I wonder..." she thought while looking around. "Strange...I don't feel any presence or Crystal Energy source near."

"And it's just plain creepy." Iona put in. Having an idea, she set down he traveling bag, and pulled one of her daggers out of her leg sheath. She raised it to her face, and held it be the blade with two fingers and her thumb. She took aim at the raven. "Should I kill it? I mean, no presence is normally a bad thing right?" Iona said, her dagger still cocked and aimed, ready to sail through the air and stab the bird. During the walk, she had been trying to get used to listening to what sounded like a one-sided conversation to her. It'd been weird, like eavesdropping on a phone call. She kinda got the gist of it, but not completely.

<Cassandra has two ravens which are her eyes. She uses them to keep tabs on bounty boards in multiple cities and follow targets. I...didn't think she was on to me. This could get interesting.

Dagnet's huge hand came out and blocked Iona's shot.

"No hitting the eyes." He growled at her.

Yeah, that's not a good idea. Cassandra gets really touchy and Iona can't hear me. I forgot that.>

The large l'Cie chuckled.

"She won't be long now."

Reya shook her head and looked at Iona then at Dagnet."Not everyone could have our gift to listen. She is one of those who can't."Aura looked at the blue haired girl and frowned."Reya, not now." she then looked at Iona. "Those birds belong to Cassandra, the person who can help us to locate other l'Cie, don't shoot them, please."The Oracle then looked at the bird."We must be ready in case we have to fight."

Edited by Elrandir

<Well, I doubt she can hide from your ability to sense people. Hopefully...maybe.>

Dagnet chuckled again, though it wasn't clear what he found amusing. The raven cried over head and flew out ahead of the party. Before it got too far ahead it circled back, as if waiting for them.

<Okay...I've never seen her try this. Um...I'm not sure what we should do.>

"Follow the fowl!" Dagnet proclaimed.

<Well...could be worth a shot.>

A mile or so away from where the party was in an open field and where the raven was flying towards and circling back from, there was a small column of smoke from a camp fire starting up.

"I agree. We should follow the bird." The Oracle commented.
Reya shrugged and pointed at the column of smoke in the distance.
"Then I guess that's our destination, right? Should I get ready for a fight?"
The blue haired girl looked at the Oracle with a questioning look on her face.
"We should try to have a civilized talk with Cassandra before we attempt to start a fight."
Reya nodded and reasumed her walk to their new destination.
"Whatever you say Aura, but at the first sign of danger I will-"
Aura waved her hand at Reya and shook her head.
"That won't be necessary Reya. Let's try our hardest to avoid any confrontation"

As the party drew closer, the fire became clearer and a lone figure was seen sitting on the far side. It wore a long cloak with a hood up. An odd lump on one of the figure's shoulders stretched its wings, revealing itself to be another raven.

<And here I was hoping it wasn't her.>

Despite the apparent apprehension of his inner voice, Dagnet strode towards the camp fire with every sign of satisfaction.

"How now, purple lizard!" He called out.

An echo of a low laugh reached the party as they drew closer.

"Clever as all ways." Cassandra called out. "Now, are you coherent enough to introduce your friends?"

"There is no need for that" The Oracle said. "My name is Aura Aeterna, daughter of Inanna, leader of the town of Heimdall and chosen l'Cie of Shiva"Aura gave a small bow."I'm Reya!" The blue haired girl yelled. "Daughter of Arya and Yusu and member of the Ancient Magicks Guild from Heimdall"Aura then pointed at Iona while looking at the figure."And that over there is Iona Mors, chosen l'Cie of Ifrit and citizen of Heimdall."The Oracle kept her gaze on Cassandra before speaking once again."Now, can you please introduce yourself"

"Pleased to meet you." Cassandra said, her hood moving slightly indicating a slight head bow.

The raven that had led the party to the camp landed on Cassandra's shoulder and the other took flight. She removed her hood, revealing a tough, but still pretty face with a blindfold like bandage across her eyes.

"My name is Cassandra Tinal." She introduced herself. "I am a hunter."

<And a l'Cie herself. She doesn't like for others to know, but I've seen her use the power once.>

Cassandra didn't show any sign of hearing Dagnet's inner voice. The raven on her shoulder swiveled its head from side to side, keeping everyone in its sight line.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your huge body guard there" Cassandra began, waving a hand at Dagnet, "from going on a rampage through your home town? And what you intend to do with him?"

While Reya was staring at the Raven at Cassandra's shoulder, Aura spoke."It is a pleasure, Cassandra Tinal." Aura said while giving another slight bow. "I met Dagnet when he was wandering the Silva Deae, or the Forest of Heimdall, as the outsiders call it."The Oracle looked at the giant then back at Cassandra."And he didn't went on a rampage in my home town, on the contrary, I invited him to join our festivities for the news about the Reimaging."The blue haired girl waved her hands in front of her while smiling."We eated and danced and talked until past midnight. It was fun."Aura nodded at Reya's comment."She is right. We decided to look for other l'Cie to bring forth the Reimaging. Dagnet told us about someone who could help us locate those other l'Cie, so we were headed to the town of Lucis to try and find you Cassandra. And what do I plan to do with him?" the black haired girl glanced at the giant and shook her head. "He is not of my property, I cannot decide his fate, he is free to do whatever he wants, just like any other person."Reya went next to Dagnet and raised her hands."He wanted to come with us, so he is part of our little group of misfits who are trying to bring forth the Reimaging."

Cassandra turned her head to face Aura. The raven on the Blind Huntress's shoulder also made Aura its solo focus.

"He was coherent enough to tell you about me?" She questioned, an odd tone in her voice. "What did he say?"

"Bird lady." Dagnet added in, feeling a little left out of the conversation. "She jest pink xylophone."

Cassandra frowned.

<Um...it might be best if you tell her about me, big guy.>

Dagnet groaned.

"Voice in head says hi." He said reluctantly.

Cassandra's raven eyed the giant l'Cie.

Reya was trying hard to hold a laugh."Behave Reya" Aura said to the blue haired girl.Reya just waved her hands and smiled."Please let me explain." The Oracle said in a calm tone. "If you ask me if he was coherent enough to tell me about you, then my answer is no."The black haired girl looked at the giant and then back at Cassandra."We Heimdallian women, or at least a few of us, have the gift to hear the voices of the souls. I thought it was only the souls of the departed, but perhaps I was mistaken in that assumption. Dagnet here arrived at Heimdall and I learned he possessed another soul inside his body."Reya then interrupted the Oracle."That voice was the one who told us about you." Reya said before looking at Aura. "And to make the story short. Dagnet is in possession of two souls. You can only hear the voice of the physical body while me and Aura can listen to him and the voice of that other soul."Aura, who was looking at Reya, turned her head back at Cassandra."That's how we managed to learn about you. I hope that was a satisfactory answer to your question Cassandra."The blue haired girl then raised her hand."We told you about us, now, can you tell us a little about yourself? You look like an interesting person." Reya said before smiling at Cassandra.

The raven on Cassandra's shoulder stared unblinking at Aura as she explained what she knew about Dagnet, though the Huntress's own face was not looking towards the Oracle. She was silent for a time afterward, her face unreadable.

<You...you really think we're different souls in one body? I never thought of that. *Sounding hopeful* maybe that means I'm not really a part of this smelly->

Dagnet scoffed and waved his hand in a dismissive gesture, before folding his arms and taking up a body posture that could only be described as "pouty." The raven immediately switched visual targets when Dagnet moved.

"Interesting." The Huntress said at last. "Maybe you can convense this other soul to take control, if he is more reasonable then the one currently in charge."

A hand came out of her long cloak and placed a dagger on the ground in front of her. The raven watched the action, like a person would observe their own actions to make sure they were putting something where it was suppose to go.

"As for me, I am a hunter. I use to hunt animals, but now I hunt people. Turns out, I'm better at them then animals."

Cassandra smiled slightly, but there was no happiness in it.

"Trust me, girl. Being 'interesting' isn't always a good thing."

She shifted to get more comfortable and thought over the conversation thus far.

"So, you want me to find some more l'Cie for this Reimagining thing. Forgive me, but I deal with the worst l'Cie have to offer. The idea of getting a bunch together doesn't sound like my idea of good."

Reya shook her head while still looking at Cassandra."Every living person is "interesting" because each and every one is special in their own right"The Oracle listened to the Huntress in silence until the very end."Perhaps you are right Cassandra, but even if we deal with the worst of the l'Cie, the Reimaging must happen. And taking control of the body...well...that doesn't concern me, it is his choice."Aura had a slightly concerned look, but quickly dismissed it."Besides, you might have to deal with the worst of the l'Cie, but what about you?" Aura asked the Huntress. "If what Dagnet's companion told us is right, then you are part of them...part of us l'Cie."The blue haired girl nodded in agreement at Aura's words."She is right, you know. Anyways, if you can't help us, it only means our search for other l'Cie will be harder, but not impossible"Aura closed her eyes and sighed."If that alone doesn't work, then name your price." she said before crossing her arms. "If it is money what you want, then say it and I will gladly pay it."

Cassandra went rigid at Aura revealing what the Huntress was. Her jaw worked angrily for a moment, then she and the raven on her shoulder looked at Dagnet, her blindfold doing a good to convey a glare at the big l'Cie.

"How observant of him." She said carefully.

The raven looked back at Aura while its mistress looked thoughtful.

"Fine." She said at last, standing up. "I'll help you."

She stomped her little fire out as she continued talking.

"But I'm not doing it because you think I'm like you and you can keep your money. I'm coming along to be there when something goes wrong. And something always goes wrong."

<Whew. That went better then I thought.>

Dagnet took a couple of steps towards Cassandra, his arms widening for a bear huh, but stopped shot at the sight of another dagger in Cassandra's hand.

"No?" Dagnet questioned.

"No." Cassandra answered.

The giant l'Cie backed up a step, letting his big arms flop down to his sides. The Huntress twirled her dagger and stuck it in sheath on her belt. She hooked a toe under her other dagger and flipped it into a hand, which quickly was placed in its own sheath. She then turned and picked up a bow and quiver that had been behind her.

"So, where are we going?" She asked as she put her primary weapon on her back.

"Our current destination is the town of Lucis, but we were talking about going to the North, towards the Library of Aeviternus to look for information about the Reimaging."Aura said while looking at the raven on the Huntress' shoulder."Don't feel bad~" Reya said to the giant while giving him a hug. "There you go. One hug!"After giving Dagnet a hug, Reya stared at Cassandra."So you're coming with us for that reason, uh?" she shrugged. "With what we are trying to do there is bound to be many problems. Rogue l'Cie, the Crusade Templars or even the monsters. It matters not if you think you are like Aura, Dagnet, Iona or any other l'Cie out there, there is always-""Nmuiogua Reya"Aura said to the blue haired girl, who just smiled and the Oracle."Sorry sorry."The young Oracle then looked at the Huntress once again."Before reasuming our journey, I would like to ask you something. Do you know of any way to gain access to the Library? We know there are traps to prevent people from going inside, but we need to find something, anything, related to the Reimaging."

Dagnet chuckled at Reya's hug.

"Great cantilevers." He told her appreciatively.

Cassandra smirked a little at Reya's rant, but didn't return comment. The 2nd raven fluttered down from the sky and landed on her other shoulder.

"I don't know much about ancient libraries." She answered the Oracle. "I've chased a few people into tombs, but they usually set off any traps around."

<Ow. That sounds painful.>

"That won't be good."Aura was thinking of a way to get inside the Library until Reya interrupted."Do not worry! I sent a message to my Mama and asked her how to get inside the Library. I am sure that we are going to get her response once we arrive at Lucis."The Oracle thought about it for a moment before nodding."I think that's our best choice for now, but...when did you-"The blue haired girl waved her hands at the Oracle while smiling."The trees will deliver my message and I am sure Mama can use a pigeon to send her reply."Reya picked up her bag and began to walk."Sometimes I just don't understand that girl. Anyways, let's reasumed or course, Lucis must be close."Aura put her bag over her shoulder and began to walk once again.

"I hope your mother knows a lot about that library." Cassandra said, falling in step behind Aura. "I'd rather not become a permanent resident."

"Goodfeathers." Dagnet said with obvious discuss, after Reya had mentioned pigeons.

<We can go first into the library. The lug in control of the body might be addled, but he knows his way around traps.>

"Stick together." Cassandra said softly, in a far away voice.

One of her ravens took to the sky as the other remained and watched where the Huntress was going.

<Well, I don't suppose anyone wants to play the alphabet game as we walk, huh?>

"Mama is very smart and she as been on the Library before."Reya said to Cassandra without looking back at her. Aura nodded at the comment of the blue haired girl."Arya, Reya's mother, is indeed very skilled. And like Reya said. Arya knows the Library, I do not how or when, but she does."The Blue Haired girl looked at the giant and smiled."But...I don't think we can have a good game on the road. I mean, there aren't many, if any, signs around here. Also, we are almost at Lucis."Reya looked to the sky for a few seconds before looking at the giant again."I'll say...around an hour to arrive to our destiny."

The raven on Cassandra's shoulder glanced back at Dagnet for a moment, then back forward on the road.

"If you are well versed in plant names, you could add them into signs for the game." The Huntress offered, somewhat reluctantly. "My brother would do that."

"Green." Dagnet added.

<Just a thought. It's either that or hangman.>

"Do you really think this little trip is going to be worth it?" Cassandra asked. "This brave new world you seem to be working for can't be all it is advertised."

"Alphabet game or Hangman" Reya said. "Uh....Hangman?"Aura was still looking at the road in front of her while listening to both the Voice and Reya and Cassandra."I am completely aware of that Cassandra." she said in a calm tone. "We take the matter in our own hands or someone else will do it. Either way the Reimaging will happen."For a couple of seconds the Oracle was lost in thought before speaking once again to the Huntress."At least this way we can make sure that the Reimaging is used for good instead of being used to do something bad."Reya looked at Aura and shrugged."But we have to learn more about the Reimaging first. At the moment we are in the dark as to how it works."Aura nodded at the comment from the blue haired girl."Anyways!" Reya said. "What was that about your brother, Cassandra? Can you tell us about him?"

"No." Cassandra answered Reya in a matter of fact voice.

<Wait, I've hear rumors about that. Most are pretty far fetched, but all say her family is dead.>

"Depending on what language the stuff at the library will be in, we might need a scholar." Cassandra said. "I know a few that owe me favors."

"And jackals might catch the same smell!" Dagnet proclaimed.

<Honestly, what does that even have to do with us right now?>

The Huntress was silent for a moment and the raven on her shoulder gave Dagnet a few glances.

"Whether he meant it or not, our big friend is right." She said, sounding thoughtful. "If you are going after the Reimaging, so will others. And for opposite reasons."

A dark chuckle came from Dagnet.

"Fun." He said.

Reya looked from Cassandra to Dagnet."Is that so?"She then shook her head and looked at the Huntress once again."I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable. Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me."Aura kept listening to the rest of her traveling companions paying full attention to their comments."I am quite aware of that and for that reason is why I chose to take that issue in my own hands"The Oracle glanced at Cassandra before looking back. It was then that she noticed something that was coming their way."What is that?" She asked."Oh! It's Mama's reply."Reya waved her arms in the air trying to catch the attention of whatever was going to deliver the message. A couple of seconds later, a young yellow chocobo with a small moogle on its back stopped a few inches from Reya. The moogle then flew towards the blue haired girl before it began to make circles around the young girl."Thanks!" she said before taking a letter from the moogle. "Sorry to make you come all the way here. This is for your troubles"Reya took a few gil from her pouch and gave it to the moogle after which it let our a cheerful "kupo!" and took its place on top of the chocobo before they began their way back."Let me see."

I got your message Reya and if what I read was right then you're on your way to the Aeviternus.By the time you have this letter on your hands then you and the rest will be close to Lucis. It is true that I've been into that library and my advice is that you need all the help you can get.The books on that place are old and will be hard to read. For that matter you must look for the owner of the local library of Lucis. The man goes by the name of Milo Steins. He is the one who helped me to get inside and the one who translated the books I was reading.Take into consideration that Professor Steins is a rather...peculiar...individual so be careful.PS: Tell him I sent you and give him my regards AND mind your manners around the Idiot.

"That's what the note says" Reya finished after reading it so everyone could listen.Aura looked at the blue haired girl and nodded."Then our next destination is clear. We need to find this "Professor" and somehow get his help."The Oracle then looked at the Huntress."Do you know Professor Steins by any chance? Perhaps one of those scholars that owe you favors?"

  • 2 weeks later...

Cassandra shook her head.

"I'm not familiar with that name, but if he is the librarian at Lucis, I'll be able to find him." She answered. "A man like that will be well known by the locals."

"Giant bicycle pens listen with feeling." Dagnet pointed out helpfully.

<Yeah, no idea what he was trying to say there. *pause* Me and the big guy will stay out of town and let y'all talk to this professor guy. We don't do crowds well.>

The raven on Cassandra's shoulder looked around the party, carefully avoiding eye contact with Reya.

"If the big guy has nothing else to add." The huntress said sourly. "Let's go to our appointment with the professor."
