I'm on an item synthesis grind. However I cant for the life of me find Neo Shadows. I know they are in the End of the World before the final rest, but I cant get them to spawn. Is there any trick to finding them?

Try synthesizing stuff so you can get Encounter Plus.

Leave the world, and come back again to the final rest and see.

Fool. Yeah, it's all chance. Just keep leaving the world and coming back.

If you have the encounter up ability (which you get from synthesizing a certain amount of items) you can just leave the linked worlds room (the big green room right before final rest) over and over until they spawn, otherwise you have to fight the enemies then go two rooms back or leave the world and return. If you do find them and defeat them you have to leave and return anyway to get them to spawn again.

That ability only lets you leave a room and come straight back to it without having to move multiple rooms away to get heartless to spawn there again after they're killed, not give rare spawns a better chance.

It wouldn't make a difference if he didn't kill any and kept returning with or without it.

You just happened to be lucky.

I even looked it up myself to make sure. I wasn't incorrect.

While this is true, it does simplify things greatly.  You may not get increased chance of spawning them, but it is much easier to enter the room then leave than to travel a few rooms away or leave the world entirely only to come back.  I don't believe that you can do this trick without encounter plus though, but I'm not entirely certain.  I might try it in KH1 some time and see if I can just run between a room where I know Mushrooms will spawn in to see if you can get them without running 2 rooms away.

Yup, as long as you don't kill a heartless without the ability, you can keep leaving the room and coming back, which is what I did to farm some Rare Truffles before I got that ability.

But yeah it does make things easier, because you can still reset the room even if you kill a heartless in it.

I haven't been to the room prior to Final Rest too much -- maybe 10-15 different times, and I've encountered the Neo Shadows at least 3 times. I enter and exit and go back in about 4-5 times and if I don't encounter them, then I save and do a soft reset and usually they're there after entering and exiting a few more times.
