Story: It's Dissidia! Cosmos, the Goddess of Harmony, and Chaos, the God of Discord, at war again! Summoning their warriors onto the battlefield of memories, the war rages on in a new cycle. With manikins wandering in from the rift, anything goes on the battlefield of the gods!(Sign-ups here: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/62964-dissidia-rp-turn-of-the-cycle-sign-ups/)Johnny Madman awoke in the battlefield of the gods. Before him lay an empty plain. A voice called to him, My warriors, come to me. Johnny turned to where the voice seemed to be coming from. The plain became a trodden road not far from Johnny and he began to walk."This place...I know it...but from where...?" Johnny thought as he walked towards the voice.

----------

Kronos had been observing Johnny and his course in the timeline when he noticed a small disruption in the timeline."What have we here?" Kronos said as he focused on the disruption. For one brief moment in the timeline, Johnny had disappeared.Kronos knew this disruption and opened a time loop, "The war of the gods has taken him at last." Stepping through the rift, Kronos appeared on top of a mountain overlooking Sanctuary."The perfect chance to test him has presented itself. Let the games begin."----------Variuer sat on the throne in the Chaos Shrine. Smiling at his newfound freedom, he began to stretch his arms."I see Chaos has not the mercy to restore his warriors when he summons them," he said as he summoned his sword. The sword began to glow with a red energy as he raised it towards the pillars of the room."Never mind that. Chaos will have quite the time trying to hold down a fellow god," he swung the sword, the energy being releasing in the room and destroying all the pillars, shaking the building itself."Let him try to restrain me. I'm already two steps ahead of him."----------Kain awoke in a strange world, unlike any he had seen before. Looking around, he saw a lake not far from him. Walking towards it, he removed his helmet and splashed water in his face. Looking around again, he wondered to himself, "Where am I? Where is Baron? Where is..." He stopped for a moment to concentrate on the name. His memory was faltering. He could see the face, but where was the name? He began to walk off from the lake, pondering the name of the man he seeked.

(OOC: Dark Kain doesn't know the real Kain is there at all.)Johnny motioned down the path, "I heard a voice telling me to walk in this direction. It was probably Cosmos. Her forces are probably gathering at Sanctuary. We'd better hurry!"-----------A shift in the wind led Dark Kain to notice something. He turned to see a boy in a mask, clad in skintight armor. He raised his lance once more, "Who be you to tread against a Dragoon of Baron?"

"You were searching for Cosmos' warriors Joker?" Kain asked while he, and Luna walk to him. "Already I found a warrior summon by Cosmos with a powerful light in her." Kain said referring to Luna.

  • Author

"A powerful light, huh?" Johnny questioned, moving closer to the girl. "Name's Johnny Madman. You are...?"

"Luna Denisila." The young demigoddess said to the man name Johnny Madman.

{Vanitas}

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Vanitas retorted sharply to Dark Kain's question. "What matters is that we are here for the same reason, on the same side. More's the pity."

The smooth helmet tilted a little, now pointing a little more toward's Bandar.

{Joker}

Joker said nothing as Kain and Luna came up. The man with a spear was an unknown, but Joker had been briefed on someone like Luna coming along. He hated to think how this would have to balance out with Chaos.

Dark Kain's lance moved to a more protected position in front of Bandar, "You insinuate that this man carries your foul air? As much as I detest him, I cannot allow you to take him."------------Johnny looked into the distance where the voice called to him, "We'd better hurry to Sanctuary. Who knows what Cosmos might need from us?"

Yuffie remained quiet as the conversation rolled along, as she didn't have too much to say. No she didn't know if there was a counterpart from her world. No, she didn't remember anything yet. Johnny said something about moving along, and Yuffie was quick to agree. "Alright! Let's get going. No time to waste new peoples!" Yuffie grinned, and started to skip down the path.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sylar looked lazily towards Kronos. "Examination huh? I'd love to stick around for a test, but I really must be going now." Sylar mock looked at his watch. The killer glanced back at Kronos, absorbing his ability again, ingraining it into his mind for a bit longer. It would be a helpful thing to have along, so he decided that having it in his next travels would be... Practical. "I really have to be going now, late for an appointment and all so, see ya!" Sylar spawned a portal on the ground behind him, and fell into it.
{Joker}
Joker watched Yuffie skip ahead for a moment, then shrugged.
"Agreed." He said, picking up his own pace. "The soon we get to her, the sooner we can end this cycle of the war."
{Vanitas}
"Relax, idiot." Vanitas told Dark Kain, idly waving a hand. "Like I said, we're here form the same reason. To fight for Chaos. I don't know about you pansies, but I'm rather looking forward to it."
  • Author
Dark Kain lowered the lance ever slightly, "What do you mean, fight for Chaos?"A dark portal opened up behind Vanitas and Variuer stepped through it."Why, my noble dragoon, you have been summoned to the battlefield of the gods, as a tribute to the God of Discord," Variuer said. "And the man you stand in front of, he would make an excellent addition to our ranks.""Addition? Make some sense of your words, man," Kain replied."The man you defend was neither summoned for Cosmos nor Chaos. He walks here as a man apart from the war," Variuer said. He cracked a thin smile, "And now, he must choose his side in the war."
(OOC: Please don't tell me this is dead already...)
(CLEAR! *Zap*)
{Vanitas}
Vanitas chuckled.
"Then why don't we show this guy why the winning side is going to be Chaos." He suggested. "The idiots summoned by Cosmos must be scattered for now. We could attack and eliminate some before they can even learn why they are here."
{Joker}
Joker cleared his throat as the party headed for Cosmos's citadel.
"I will not be joining you inside." He said. "She is not responsible for my presence here and it would be best if I remain a...somewhat separate variable from the two beings heading up this conflict."
(OOC: SHOOT! I SUCK MAJORLY! I LET THIS DIE! TIME FOR AN INSTANT REVIVE ATTEMPT (assuming that anyone actually wants to continue...))
"Gladly," Variuer said as red energy pulsed into his hand and his sword materialized. He pointed it at Kain, "You shall fall first, dragoon."
Kain held his lance in battle position as he turned to talk to his comrades, "You'd best steel yourselves if you wish to fight another day."
----------
Johnny chuckled a bit at Joker's remark, "A bit of a world-jumper, eh? No problem, you'll be a little secret of the group." He turned to the others, "Right, everyone? It's not like she needs to know about our friend Joker."
(Alright. Let's see if I can remember what I was doing...)
{Vanitas}
With a dark chuckle, Vanitas summoned his Keyblade, Void Gear.
"So what's it going to be, dragon boy?" He taunted Kain as the Dark Soldier assumed his battle stance. "Please make the choice that allows me to kill you."
{Joker}
Joker nodded his thanks to Johnny. It wouldn't actually be a bad think for Cosmos to know about him, but it would avoid some unpleasant questions in the mean time.
(OOC: Dang, I'm terrible at keeping up with this!)Johnny looked and surveyed their current surroundings. Right before Cosmos' sanctuary were the ruins of a once great castle.
Johnny motioned to the castle, "Might as well hang back here, my friend. I'll fill you in after we're done."
Johnny and Yuffie walked into Cosmos' sanctuary.
----------
Dark Kain leapt at the dark boy that stood before him, "If anyone is to die, I shall make sure it is you!" His lance buried itself at the spot where the boy once stood, having jumped out of the way. Dark Kain turned and attacked the man that stood nearby, "Least of all I should die by your hands!"
Variuer blocked the spear and his eyes began to glow, "You have yet to realize the power you face before you!" The sword flashed and Dark Kain was sent flying past the two men he had allied with. Variuer raised his sword to the foolish one and spoke to the other, "Hand him over to me, and I'll spare your pitiful life."
{Joker}
Following Johnny's advice, Joker hung back from the other Warriors of Cosmos, but tried to keep within ear shot of them. He was curious about how this cycle would go.
{Vanitas}
Vanitas grinned beneath his dark helmet and readied his Keyblade. While he had learned to love manipulating his foe through words, he still preferred to simple end them through violence. True, he was probably going to have to stop just shy of killing them, but then again, accidents happen.
"Are we done talking now?" He asked in a bored tone.
(OOC: We may need to commander some characters if no one else posts, specifically Bandar and Ramza)As Johnny and Yuffie approached Cosmos, a voice seeped into Johnny's mind.
"My warriors, I grant you my power..."
Johnny felt a presence enter his body and his energy surging. The sensation crept over him for a few seconds before leaving him.
"What...was that?" Johnny said aloud.
"That was my gift to you, my warrior,"  Cosmos said to Johnny. "A power to be awakened by combat."
Johnny cracked a thin smile, "Same as always, eh?"
Cosmos smiled back, but immediately her smile turned to concern, "I feel... Chaos' influence has approached some of my warriors. By the lake, near the bridge to the north island."
Johnny was shocked, "Already?" Already turning to leave, Johnny motioned to Yuffie, "We've got no time to lose! C'mon!"
-------
Variuer glanced over at the boy with the Keyblade and scowled. The boy was indeed powerful, but his cockiness would not click with Variuer's ideals. Variuer would either need to subjugate the boy or separate from him entirely.
"I believe the time for talking has passed, my boy," Variuer said. "Take them. Retrieve the fool. Kill the other."
Edited by Johnny Madman
At this point, Ramza found that he almost had no choice in light of things. He still knew nothing of the fate of his allies, nothing of his sister, only that now there was a higher being once more calling him to act. Long ago he might have taken it as an act of god, back when he was more foolish. More naive. Now, however, he stared up at the Goddess named Cosmos, hesitant and wary.
It took him only seconds to realize that Cosmos was nothing like Altima. There was nothing of the hate, the malice,the indignance that had nearly destroyed Ivalice, but still he couldn't help but be cautious.
"Wait! Lady Cosmos!" Ramza rushed forward, unable to hold his silence any longer, "Please, I must know, why have we been called here? I am but a squire from the land of Ivalice. For years I have walked through the Airship graveyard beneath Muronde, seeking a way back to the world of the living. I know not what I've been chosen here to fight for, but please, you must tell me. What has become of Ivalice?"
There was an urgancy that Ramza had barely expected to feel as he poured out his worries. He hadn't meant to slow down their campaign, but the entire day had been a blur. Nothing seemed right, and Alma was still lost.
Power... more power...
The horrifying cries of dying gods filled Vormav's head as he stagged through what appeared to be two rather well armored men, one armed with a spear and the other a... key. Vormav frowned, blinking to clear his eyes. A key as a weapon? How strange... and highly impractical at that. What strange land had he been cursed to wander. Cautiously he drew towards the figures, keeping his hand on his blade. He knew not what strange demons he might encounter in this strange world, but he knew that whatever he met would taste the wrath of his blade if there was a need. Stony faced and silent, he moved to approach.
  • Author
Dark Kain lunged at Vanitas before turning to see another man approaching them, his hand on his sword.
Kain turned to Bandar, "Too many adversaries. We must retreat."
Variuer laughed, "There will be no retreat today for you, my friend."
Kain grabbed his strange ally, "Brace yourself." With that, the two were flung into the sky to a nearby mountain.
Variuer turned to the boy, "A clever escape. But anticipated. We shouldn't follow, lest we attract the attention of a certain goddess." Variuer then turned to the man who was approaching, "By what name do they call you?"
--------
As Johnny ran out of Sanctuary, he passed by a man wearing Ivalician clothes. As Johnny looked at the man's garb, he recognized who he was.
"Ramza!" Johnny called out to him. "No time to explain, we've got trouble on the lake front."
Edited by Johnny Madman
Vormav relaxed just a bit as the man with the spear and the strange key weapon retreated. Still he didn't dare take his hand off his blade. He knegoddess well that this could be a world of demons, And he dared no underestimate the powers of anyone he met. The hooded man before him especially made him wary. There was a dark air about him. Something seemed to be off, something not right, Something infernal.
He was a bit caught off guard as the man spoke. He seemed to speak as a normal man. Vormav paused. He'd asked him his name.
In his head for a moment the name 'Hashmalum' echoed in his head. He blinked a few times to clear his mind.
"Vormav" he finally spoke aloud. His voice sounded hoarse, as if he hadn't used it in some time, "I am afraid i am a stranger to this world. Which goddess is it that you speak of?"
---------------------
Ramza gaped. Already there was trouble. He hesitated. He needed to know what had become of Ivalice, but yet he knew a cry for help couldn't go unheeded by a member of the Beoulve family. The final member of the Beoulve family, Ramza remembered with a twinge of guilt.
"I'll come with you. "He nodded, "if we must fight, I will lend my blade."
  • Author
Variuer gave a small chuckle, "You find yourself on the battlefield of the gods! The goddess of which I speak..." Variuer reached inside his cloak and pulled out a small hologram projector. After activation, it lit up a display of Cosmos, and Variuer continued, "is Cosmos, Goddess of Harmony. She is our enemy, and she has summoned warriors against us." Motioning to himself and Vanitas, he cracked a smile, "I am known as Variuer, and this is Vanitas. We are your allies."
-----------
Johnny motioned for Ramza to follow and called to Joker as he passed, "We've got no time, there's already some of Chaos' minions causing trouble!"
"Chaos?" Ramza echoed. He didn't like the sound of that. After so much time spent fighting demons, he knew full well what the reprocussions of those types of creatures being present could be. The slaughter at Riovanes Castle was only a small taste of what demons like the Lucavi were capable of if left unchecked. If there were demons here, they had to be stopped.
"We must hurry then." he nodded, touching a hand to the hilt of his blade, "What is this.. chaos anyway? A demon?" he shivered. He'd had quite enough of demons and gods.
---------------------------------------------------
Vormav frowned, staring at the phantasmal image before him. This goddess was a strange one, foreign to his eyes.
"What kind of false God is that?" Vormav growled, "St. Ajora does not permit the worship of false idols." he drew his blade, a frown crossing his face. It was starting to make sense now. Ajora had called him to cut down phrophets of these false gods with his Holy blade. It was his calling to deliver divine justice unto this world, and bring it into Ajora's holy light.
"I understand." Vormav nodded, "These infernal creatures will bow before the might of my blade."
  • Author
Johnny smiled. Ramza and his battles did make him more perceptible to understanding the war of the gods.
"In a sense, yes," Johnny remarked. "Chaos is a mad creature with immeasurable power. I've fought him before, he's something else entirely." Johnny continued to walk east of Sanctuary, "We should hurry."
------------
"Good to hear, comrade," Variuer said as he grabbed Vormav's shoulder, a false gesture to insure his trust. This was a mere man, allowing him to believe his own delusions would work far better than forcing him. "Let us go to rendezvous with the others," he continued as he gestured to the path to the north island.
Variuer then took aside Vanitas, "Follow the dragoon. If you run into any of Cosmos' warriors, kill them."
