I love Final Fantasy IX. Favorite Final Fantasy game, and second-favorite game of all time(my favorite being TWEWY). So, why is FFIX my favorite? Well, there's not a single problem that I have with it, emphasis on the I. That final boss? Yeah, I don't care that it's out of nowhere! That's not something that bugs me! The characters? Everyone's awesome, especially Vivi(So adorable!). The gameplay? No heavy gimmicks, very strategic, and not too much grinding. Just go through the game, and enjoy the story. Speaking of which, the story? Marvelous! Interesting in basically every sense of the word! Sidequests? Somewhat rage inducing, but they're not required, which is why I don't mind them! Graphics? While not something I gawk at, I can admit that these are great graphics, especially the FMVs. Music? OH MY GOD THE MUSIC! Simply beautiful! Masterful! All around, FFIX is the best FF game in my opinion. I have yet to play FFXIV:ARR, but I assume FFIX will still be my favorite. Which what few problems it has, they're ignorable. And in the end, FFIX is, and will always be, my favorite FF game...unless FFXV does something masterful.

I still think ff vii is the best, but that's just my opinion

This is indeed my favorite FF title.

The only reason why FF9 is not my favorite FF is because of the characters,they are not terrible,but except for Vivi and Kuja I don't really care about any of them.The story is wonderful,but I never cared for Zidane as much as I cared for cloud,Squall or Sephiroth

the only thing i didn't like about IX was the characters, i didn't really like anyone except Vivi and he's one of my favorite characters of all time

Haven't played it properly myself, only at a friends years ago. Although Vivi is like one of my favourite characters of all time. 

 

FFX would be my favourite, and would rank pretty high in my all-time favourites.
