Players on GameFAQs are reporting a potential game-breaking bug in Nintendo's latest Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. The nasty bug when encountered renders the save file inoperable as GameFAQs user starwingcoronoa posted on the forums.

"I saved near a cab in Lumiose City and now whenever I try to restart my game it immediately freeezes. It loads my trainer and all of my clothes as well as the buildings and their lighting effects, but none of the objects in the streets or the textures on the buildings show up," starwingcorona wrote.

Apparently this bug occurs when users save outside in Lumiose City. As a result, it's probably not the best idea to save your game in this area. The glitch seems to occur on both physical and digital copies of the game.

Let's hope Nintendo patches this glitch out soon. It goes without saying that if you do encounter this bug, you'll most likely have to restart your game from scratch. We'll let you know if someone comes across a confirmed workaround if you happen to catch this bug.

 

 

Hopefully, if this gets spread around enough, Nintendo might release a patch, since they can do that.

Really? I've saved outside ion Lumiose City lots of times and have never gotten anything like that. Maybe I'm lucky.

Try to spread this on more Pokemon forums especially the ones on Nintendo's site so they can notice and fix it.

Yeah, I don't see how just talking about it on fansites would help.

As I told ya,we just like bitching rather than emailing the freakin company to fix it.

 

It's like people instead of fixing the negativity with solution they just want to enjoy it.

 

I also told a couple of people on serebii,net to start mailing and shut their freakin bitching on the fan forums until they can fix it

It might help by causing people to avoid saving around that area and potentially losing all of their data until a fix is found.  Talking about problems is never a bad thing.This thread was not started to bitch about a problem, but to inform.

Yeah but there are some people who likes to spam negative bitching about how a game or a company suck,derailing the thread from informative to a comment war

At this point, there is no spam, and no need to worry.  Talking about it in a calm, informative way can only help, though.  I wonder what the issue in the coding is?

the glitch occured only in some versions

 

There are some people who saved at the exact same spot but it didn't happened to them.

 

So it might be one of those glitches that gets activated when you do things in specific order like Missingno(I once encountered Missingno in RedBlue by accident and immediately turned the game off)
