Hi guys, I find a lot of people buying both Pokemon X and Y versions.I am just wondering why would they buy both? I do know that some Pokemons in X don't exist in Y and the opposite, but is it worth that much to buy both versions and repeat the same story just to get few pokemons that don't exist in the other version? Is there something I don't know here? (Don't understand me wrong, I am just wondering)

Because

1: They can.

2: Some might not have friends getting them.

3:AAAND:

It's because they want to.

Some of us buy it for his friend to play and trade with

I'll get both so my brother can battle with me and I can get both Pokemon of each version

It's optional really and it's never required to purchase both in order to enjoy the game

Get X. Mega Charizard looks much better.

Also,now it's FireDragon ^_^

I was tempted to buy both for my collection, but I think I'll just wait until I find it for cheap.

Dude, that isn't even close to answering the question the OP is asking. He's not asking which game to get, he's asking why he's seeing people get both.

Oh well that's easy. If someone wants to replay the game without deleting their save file and to get the other Pokemon.

Some are collectors and they like to add both to their collection
