I'm sorry you think this way, Varnish. I disagree heavily, and though I'm a little irritated this is even the subject of discussion, I admire your honesty. Even if I think it's completely unfair that nobody can comment or argue with you when you have put yourself out there like this. I respect your opinion, though I have to wonder what's keeping you here if you feel this strongly about it.

Just another someone from who knows where who thinks their opinion is important enough to make a video about and post it on youtube and stupid users who give the maker of this video the recognition and use it as the perfect material to argue among themselves, resulting in another online war between idiots.

Y'know, I was originally going to say I'd love to take a crack at deconstructing your entire argument after you're done with that guy, but now that I'm scrolling through several dozen replies in the comments...I think I'll let it go for now. Overall, though, if you feel that strongly, there's really not much I can do to change your mind, anyway. Whether I or anyone else wins out logically or not, you'll most likely feel the way you do based purely on personal preference at this point.

Dude Kingdom Hearts is nothing...and I mean NOTHING but a generic Final Fantasy game without Disney.

 

Even without a logical story discussion

 

the point of Kingdom Hearts is to visit the disney movies we loved in our childhood with a unique story involving new characters.

 

 

Without Disney's worlds and characters the game would've been boring as shit just like Final Fantasy 8

 

It's a crossover.No Disney=No Kingdom Hearts

The only thing is that without Disney, KH would literally be nothing. It's a mater of fact that if the Disney element hadden't appeared at all, by now Sora would be extremely depressed from the deaths of everyone at the hands of Xehanort, and then would become part of the darkness due to the damage done to his heart by that.

I am not going to repeat the many parts of my argument that I have stated in the past.

You don't think Donald and Goofy are important? Please, enlighten me.

Perhaps it would help if you told me when they have ever done anything particularly relevant to the story of the series. I assure you that there is next to nothing for them in that department.

So I didn't watch the entire video, just up to when you said all the disney characters are pointless, except for 3. So, if there were no other disney characters, what in the world would the objective of the game be? Literally, there would be no objective to the game. Save traverse town for some reason, save hollow bastion for some reason, end game. 

 

Then again, you may have covered this later in the video, but I really was not keen on watching the rest of it.

At least the "black hedgehog" has had a respectable background. I do not particularly care for the "fat scientist".

I personally agree and disagree. I Disney was not the reason I was gravitated towards Kingdom Hearts, but it does give it that nostalgic feels to anyone who likes Disney.

Kingdom Hearts could exist with just Final Fantasy would it have gotten as good of reviews and legacy it holds, maybe not. More importantly I do not think it would have existed outside Japan if it was just Final Fantasy, but yeah.

They encouraged Sora to go with them, they told him to always smile, they fought together, they lent him their power so he can become stronger, they protected Kairi, they encouraged him when he was down in Castle Oblivion, they save him from Larxene even after he yelled at them, they were genuinely happy for him when he found his "friend," and that's just the first two games.

I have stated before that I do not regard myself as being a "fan" of the series, but for unrelated reasons.

I have the right to say that the Disney elements ruined the series because they had no part in the creation of the original or Final Fantasy characters that are contained within the series, they have almost no relevance to the core plot, and they serve as little else that worlds to take up space so that each game will not seem particularly short. A person who takes the plot of the series as seriously as I do can see that the Disney elements are, for the most part, far from being a necessity. That is undeniable.

The Disney elements of Kingdom Hearts were deliberately given more prevalence in the first entry of the series. Therefore, that can be discounted.

Even if they were as important as you say in Chain of Memories, what is it worth if they have not been as important in other entries of the series?
