My ideas for new Pokémon types

Posted

Here are some brief ideas that I have for new Pokémon types:

Air:

Resistant to Rock and Steel-type moves; immune to Ground-type moves; weak to Poison and Grass-type moves.

Air-type moves are super-effective against Fire and Ghost-types, but are not very effective against Poison and Steel-types.

Vapour:

Resistant to Water, Fairy and Ice-type moves; weak to Fire and Grass-type moves.

Vapour-type moves are super-effective against Fire, Ground and Water-types, but are not very effective against Vapour, Steel and Grass-types.

Light:

Resistant to Dark, Ghost and Psychic-type moves; weak to Fighting and Electric-type moves.

Light-type moves are super-effective against Dark, Ghost and Bug-types, but are not very effective against Light and Steel-types.

Sound:

Resistant to Normal, Ghost and Psychic-type moves; weak to Dark and Steel-type moves.

Sound-type moves are super-effective against Psychic, Electric and Flying-types, but are not very effective against Steel, Ghost, Sound and Fire-type moves.

Artificial:

Resistant to Fighting, Dark and Ghost-type moves; weak to Steel, Bug and Fire-type moves.

Artificial-type moves are super-effective against Fairy, Ghost and Dragon-types, but are not very effective against Water, Artificial and Psychic-types.

Comments would be appreciated.

Along with this, a question that I would like to ask is; did Magneton have a type-change? I am asking this because recently when I was playing my X version, I made my Simisage use Crunch on a Magneton, and instead of not being very effective, it dealt a regular amount of damage.

Still Electric/Steel, since Gen 2, I believe.

Magneton didn't have a type change, Steel Types got some resistances taken away, such as Dark and Ghost types. I think this is to not make the Honedge family too OP.

Air=flying

Vapour is basically water

Light is pretty much the fairy type as it's super effective against dark and it resist Dark type moves

mmmm maybe artificial but I don't see that as a possible type

Besides,we just got introduced to the Fairy type which changed the meta game A LOT especially with Pokemon that got type change like Togekiss and Clefable

The current meta game needs to establish itself for a while, then maybe in Gen 7 or even 8 we can get a new type because as of now....we need to adapt to the changes that the fairy type has made...and we really don't need a new type as of now....maybe in the future...but not soon

I just knew that you were going to come here to harass me again. Air is not the same as Flying, and Vapour is not the same as Water; among other things.

I said that these are my ideas; not that they should ever be included in the actual series.

Some re-types?

For air:

Castform

Altaria (Dragon/Air)

Driftfloon (Ghost/Air)

Drifblim (Ghost/Air)

Wailord (Water/Air)

And, Artificial, seems too similar to another two...: Looking at you, ROCK and GROUND...

But...how about: Stone?

Yeah, that sucks.

Yeah, that sucks.

Provided that including Wailord was a joke, I agree with those.

I believe that Klink and Porygon are Pokémon that can potentially partially become Artificial-types.

Coming here to say this:

Flying isn't Air. Air is practically wind, think of it as gusts.

Flying are just Airborne beings that can glide.

Vapor is practically smoke that comes from heated water. So no, it isn't Water.

Light is a possibility, but it depends on what it truly is based on. Like Dark types aren't darkness, Light types don't have to be religious. Not sure about your Light Type, but the whole general idea is plausible.

Sound is a really dumb type imo. I never really liked the idea of Sound Type. It could be possible, but I really don't see it.

Artificial is like Steel 2.0.

Despite the criticisms, thank you for clarifying the types for him for me.

In the case of the Sound-type, Pokémon that could definitely receive that type are Whismur and its evolutions, as well as Chingling and Chimecho.

Chatot and Audino aren`t pleased...

Shana09's post explained why the types that you said are the same as already-existing types are not the same.

I said that you were harassing me because instead of using constructive criticism, all you said was "Air = Flying; end of story".

Vaporeon would not qualify as a Vapour-type, even though it has "Vapor" in its name.

I would like see to Sound and Air. You have some great ideas so keep up the creativity :D

You obviously didn't read my whole post and I still don't see how I harrassed you

I said after that my reasons why it's too soon to make a new type...READ MY WHOLE POST...NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO READ FROM IT

The first four (of six) paragraphs were exactly like the one that I quoted when it comes to a shortage of reasoning.

I never said that I wanted any of those types to be included in the series, so your reasoning for why none of them should be was unnecessary.

Maybe unnecessary but it's not a harassment

You don't need to be offended from what I've said since I never directly insulted you nor did I say your ideas are bad....I just said what I thought about Vapor and Air

The rest I didn't comment on because they were decent enough

If that is the way that you see it, then so be it.

What do you mean by "the rest"? All that was left was the Sound-type.

I didn't mind the soundartificial type ideas that much

Okay I know what you wanna hear:

You're right,I'm wrong,I'm sorry,end of story

can we move on ??

I did not want to hear that. Do not do that just to make me feel better.

I was fine with what Shana09 said to me about the Sound and Artificial-types, even though she did not agree with my ideas.
