Hey everyone, how's it going? You know, lately I've been wanting to discuss this, and what better time than now since it's almost Christmastime? Okay, so here goes.
As we all very well know, Christmas is a wonderful time of year in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and at least during this time, people seem kinder, the world seems less dangerous, and then there's that magical and mystical feeling that comes with the season. So normally, Christmastime is a cheery wonderful occasion, but lately for the past few years here in Puerto Rico, it's like Christmas is starting to fade away.
The thing is, that at least 5 years back, you'd see the houses all over the neighborhood decorated to the brim with Christmas lights and decorations and such, and no murders or bad things would happen, but it seems people are losing their enthusiasm for this season. People barely put on Christmas lights anymore,(but my family and I always do.) crimes increase, and mostly everyone is miserable. When I look at how happy and rejoiced people are in Christmas, it gives me hope, but despair only leads to darkness.
Well, at least in the US people maintain Christmas traditions and they give out love to people who need it. So please, whenever you see someone on the street who wants a meal, give them a bite to eat, or if people from the Salvation Army ask for money for the homeless and the Red Cross for the sick, don't hesitate to give money, since you are lucky enough to have a home to call your own and your healthy and well. Keep the spirit of Christmas alive, and always help those in need. Thank you for reading this, and if you would like to share your thoughts, then please do so.
