And by that I mean how Square presented the game through most of the trailers

 

Back before XIII-2 was released,the trailers of XIII-2 were mostly focusing on the story and presented you a glimpse of Serah and Noel's struggle to find Lightning and stop Caius

 

the trailers of XIII-2 legitimately hyped me up for the game and I loved every single trailer of it

 

But in LRFFXIII Trailers,little to nothing has been shown for the story unless you wanna count the spoilerific Dengeki scans

 

very few trailers (I think two at max) were showcasing some elements of the story.....the rest of the trailers are just about Lightning's clothes.....why?? Why isn't there any kind of balance for the game's trailers??

 

And I know you'll say you wanna avoid the spoilers,but XIII-2's trailer didn't spoil that much and it hyped me for the story of Serah and Noel

 

 

Here,all of what has been shown for the story is that:Lightning is sent by a god to save humanity(someone told me something but I won't spoil it)Snow is ganging up against you,Noel wanna hunt you,Caius is back...the world will end.....and that's it....most of them were in very very short 1:50 minutes trailer.Sure you wanna avoid spoilers,but I wanna see some scenes of Lightning kicking ass not Lightning being a BarbieErza Scarlet

 

Sure I'm still gonna get this game when it comes out without a doubt,but I'm not hyped for it at all as I used to with XIII-2

 

All of the trailers(especially the inside The Square ones)are just Toriyama and his goons talking about Lightning as if she's some sort of their Waifu and they wanna forces her to your face by any means necessary......just look at this

 I can never take this behind the scenes trailer seriously.It's just Toriyama and his lackies with a little bit of Nomura talking about the fun or joy of animating Lightning's clothes in a very perverted lesbianic way....ewghhh

 

Just look at Isamu and some other designer's faces...they looked bored and lifeless

XIII was amazing, so what if it was linear it's still one of the best looking PlayStation 3 games and it's got a great story.

XIII has an amazing story that got retconned in the later two entries....nothing about Fal'cie and L'cie matter unless your name is Snow

 

As for one best looking Ps3 game I won't deny it but......MGS4 say hi

 

Also,It's not the linearity specifically since FFX is linear.....it's just in XIII there is NOTHING TO DO IN THOSE HALLWAYS

I agree, the trailers have been pretty ridiculous. I would rather see more trailers about gameplay than trailers about "Here's how to customize your Lightning to look like a sex object."

 

But the Japanese fans love Lightning. She is one of the most loved VG characters in Japan right now, that's why Square is making all these sexy and badass trailers about her so that the game will get more hype. 

 

Personally I don't give two shits about Lightning because she is the most boring Final Fantasy character of all time. At least in my opinion. I do like the story and the gameplay though (kind of), so I'm still going to get the game.

I laughed so hard after reading everything in this thread XDI totally agree with Metal Snake on this, the trailer didn't show many things as what it suppose to be, but oh well in the end we all will buy it
