How good is Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi?

Posted

So I got this game, hoping to get into DBZ fighting games(And DBZ in general), but when I got it, the game only allowed me to go through the menu and watch tutorial vids. Most likely it's just the disc that's broken, so I plan on getting it fixed, most likely after I get a new PS2(after mine broke down). But first I wanna know if it's worth it to get it fixed. Is it as good as, say, Budokai 3(I hear it's the best of the DBZ games)?

Ah, I have that game, and had it for years. I would suggest it is worth it, but there are flaws to it, then again what game doesn't have flaws? My opinion is it's worth getting fixed, and you will probably enjoy it for a while, it was the first DBZ game I ever got, and I don't regret it to this day. :)

It's better than budokai 3 in my opinion. You fight in a kind of 3rd person view and it looks more like how they fight in the show. (flying around the map and such). But i would go with tenkaichi 2 if you can because it has more characters.

BT3 is the best.

It looks really good, I've never played it though. I'd recommend giving it a shot. On the topic of DBZ games, Battle of Z, which comes out next month I think, looks like it'll be really cool too.

BT is pretty much a staple in DBZ gaming. It's the first game series to really have a original style that helped translate the DBZ anime and manga style of combat  into video game form while staying true to it at the same time. Whether or not its the best series of DBZ games is debatable, but its definitely note worthy :)

Budokai 3/Infinite World is my favourite and the best in my opinion.

Tenkaichi 2 and 3 are gems too. Tenkaichi 2 has the most completed storymode made until today and tenkaichi 3 the biggest roster etc...
