Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

"Yeah..." Kei sighed, amazed at how quickly everyone seemed to be running off. "So... What do we do now? We could always go out and get some experience or something..."

"We should be fine on experience, what I'm worried about is your actual swordsmanship." Abisk replied. "I think that if I can teach you some more sword skills and overall combat things will go a bit better."

Elyna was running, heading outside of the towns gates to head to the location of the boss but she then saw 3 players (Black, Lock & Vash) in front of her with their backs facing her as they were walking in the same direction. Elyna then noticed "Hey, those are the other players that where with Abisk & Keimei in that forest. Why do I seem to run into these players so much? wait a sec, I have an idea, hee hee" thought Elyna as she ran right behind Vash jumping off his head & doing a backflip & landing facing all 3 of them "Well, well, it looks like we met again you 3 greenies haha. I don't believe we got to introduce ourselves before. My name is Elyna, a former beta tester & my title is 'The Dragon striker'. I'm gonna propose a little deal to you lot soooo LISTEN UP!" said Elyna getting their attention "First of all, I have the location of the boss & I can lead you straight there in return for helping me with killing it....this will be a temporally truce, what do you think?" said Elyna as she then took out a golden delicious apple & took a bite out of it before throwing it just above her left shoulder as Ray her little green dragon's head stretched out from her brown cloak & ate the rest of the golden apple in one bite right before it went back under her brown cloak coiling up around her body.

Lock thought about her offer a minute before making up his mind. "That's an interesting offer, but I think we'll have to wait on that until tonight, when we get with the rest of our group. We'll give you our answer then." Lock said to Elyna, and then turned towards Black and Vash, "Does that sound like a good idea to you guys? After all, if we're going to fight the boss, we should probably have our entire group there, just in case."

"Alright... In that case, want to go train me now?" Kei asked. "The faster I get down combat skills, the better."

"Alright... In that case, want to go train me now?" Kei asked. "The faster I get down combat skills, the better."

"Let's do it. There is a clearing a little bit outside this town if I recall that would be great for the purpose." Abisk replied. "Plenty of space to move and get use to the system." He replied.

"Alright, sounds like a good plan." Kei smiled. "You lead the way, Abisk!"

"Heh, this place works. It looks more like a place someone would visit for a picnic than for combat practice, though." Kei laughed. "So... What are you going to teach me first?" She unsheathed her sword.

Ryonne nodded. "Somethin' like that. Let's go in." Ryonne spoke curtly. He was tired of waiting. The swordsman pushed open the gate, and took the first step inside. With a good view inside, it became obvious how difficult this was meant to be. The paths twisted and turned, offering up many routes to explore. If Ryonne had to guess, there were probably a lot of traps awaiting unfortunate players as well. He stepped inside a bit more, and scanned his surroundings. A few enemies spawned in, armored cat men of a sort, armed with two curved blades. One snarled and charged at Ryonne, he sidestepped, and drew his blade, slicing down at the enemy's back. It turned around quickly, slashing. Ryonne ducked, and activated a sword skill, a powerful upward thrust with his blade. The cat man turned into crystals at the end of his sword. Ryonne turned to meet another right in front of him, slashing it's sword at him. Ryonne stepped back quickly, and called out. "Switch!"

"Ok then, sure. Lets go head back to the inn then." Vash said.

Sikiro immediately swooped in, barreling forward and activating his own Sword Skill. While the Cat Man's AI was temporarily stunned, Sikiro stepped in and did a twirl, slashing the beast-man twice on the chest. He plunged the sword in, letting the monster explode into crystals as its HP reached zero.

Only a few enemies left. One more Cat Man was surrounded by armored goblins.

"Alright, switch again!"

Wolf went into the forest and spotted a Dark Dwarf heading straight towards her. She took out her two swords immediately.

"A dark dwarf. Heh. This'll be good practice." She muttered and readied her attack. As soon as the Dark Dwarf was close enough, she zoomed past it, slicing it in half. She gained 40 exp. She smirked.

"Alright!" She grinned and was about to put her swords away, when a packs of wolves came out of no where.

"An ambush? Hmm... Interesting." She smirked and started killing off the wolves one by one.

"Ok then, sure. Lets go head back to the inn then." Vash said.

"Well, I was hoping we could finish the quest first, but I guess we could meet up with the other two instead. What do you think Black, should we turn back? W're fairly close to the level cap anyway."

(Wolf vs Wolves)

"Heh, this place works. It looks more like a place someone would visit for a picnic than for combat practice, though." Kei laughed. "So... What are you going to teach me first?" She unsheathed her sword.

"I never really noticed that... I was more caught up in learning the way the fighting in this game worked..." He mumbled. "But since you mention it, maybe we should do a picnick here before we leave..." He said, drawing his blade. "Basic's. First thing to remember is that our body's here won't react like our real ones would: there is a slight delay because the thoughts have to transfer from our brain to the nerve gear and then our avatars'." He explained. "Only those with either great skill, defense, or reaction time will make it all the way, but from what I can tell your reaction time is plenty good, same for your skill. So, what we need to do is practice just having the movement down.". Abisk took his signature stance, save for now he was dual-wielding, and had his left arm strait out. "Your stance is important for basic slashes and things of that nature, because a good stance improves balance and allows you to not be knocked over too easily, as well as react appropriately. First things first, get into a stance, just do what feels natural and then I'll help correct it."

(Wolf vs Wolves)

(Yes. My minions have come.)

Wolf killed all except one remaining wolf. Who was dodging her attacks.

"Jesus christ! Take a hit!" Wolf growled and powered her attack, then slashed the wolf, it's health draining to zero and shattering to crystals. Wolf sighed in relief and saw that the wolf had bonus exp. Wolf grinned and put her swords away.

"This is good enough training for now." She said and started to walk out of the forest, she felt a sharp hit on her back and she rolled forward, getting her swords out again and quickly turning. It was a Killer Mantis.

"Are you shitting me?!" She growled and got up, seeing her health is at 80% from the hit.

"Got it." Kei got into a battle stance: She spaced her legs to keep her balance, and gripped her sword with both hands in a defensive position. (I'm sorry I suck at describing battle stances or knowing good ones ;_;) "How's this?" She asked.

(It's fine. TBH, the stance almost all my OC's use is the one I myself use, as I find it natural. Just do what you think is best.)

Abisk overlooked her stance, giving it credit where due and criticism where needed in his head. "It's pretty good... But..." He walked over, and helped her from behind, nudging her back foot forward slightly with his, and instructing her to turn her foot a little more to the front and out, then guiding her arms more to a offensive position by guiding her hands a little but around and her arms out with his hands, leaving them in their places afterward. "There. Your balance looks improved and now your blade is in a better position to strike when needed. Gotta remember that we can't always be too defensive, even if we want to be." He said, only now noticing that he still had Kei by her hands slightly, he blushed a little, then, he let go and coughed a little. "A-Anyway, that's a good stance, a-at least for one-handed strait-swords." He backed off of Kei a little.

Kei blushed a bit, noticing that Abisk had been holding her hands a bit, "So... What next? I think I've got the stance down."

"Next is just basic things you need to know. The best way-I find to do this-is to practice against a target." He sheathed his Anneal Blade, and then walked in front of Kei, taking his stance. "It's simple, all we're going to do is practice blocking, no actual fighting. I promise you I won't hit you." He assured her. "I'm going to send an attack, if I use a Sword Skill, use one you know to counter mine, hold your blade in the way of my attack, or dodge it. If I use a regular swing, use a regular swing if you decide to counter it, the rest stay's the same." He said, looking at her. "God I hope I don't screw this up..." He thought, sending a normal swing at her stomach.

Wolf attacked the Killer Mantis, but it blocked her attack with it's claws. Wolf growled and powered her attack against the Killer Mantis' claws, slicing them off. She backed away and quickly powered her attack again, zooming past the Killer Mantis in a flurry of swipes. The Killer Mantis then slowly shattered to glass, and Wolf gained 70 exp for landing a combo. She nodded to herself and yawned.

"This was good enough training." She put her swords away and headed back to the town to get some rest at the inn.

Abisk countered back with an areal Sword Skill, and went up with the attack, then after the initial moment of the system forcing him to stop moving, he brought down a normal strike from above.
