Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

Guys, I think I'm gonna have to drop out of the RP. Not just waiting for Robin, but also just time-zone restraints in general. Everyone else is always posting hours after my bedtime, and with school starting up and midterms underway, not to mention some personal projects, I can't keep up anymore. I hope everyone understands, and I bid farewell to what I hope will turn into a marvelous RP.

(Sorry to hear about that man, I hope to RP with you in the future.)

"You guys go on ahead, I'm going to climb this rope." Lock said. He knew it was safer to go in a group, but he didn't think it was a trap. After all, why would this hacker guy try to kill them off so quickly anyway? It was more likely that he wanted them to experience this world he controlled before he killed the bulk of them off. Besides, how would Abisk know if there wasn't normally a rope there if the map were constantly changed? Sounded pretty suspicious to him.  "Don't worry about me guys, I'll try to catch up later."And with that, he ascended into the darkness.

"We don't have to switch in a fight, we can all fight by ourselves as well, I just told you all how to switch, having you practice it so that if need be that we must switch, you know and feel OK with doing so." Abisk said, looking at Lock.

"Fine then." He said, leading the rest of the group to the enemy. It was a very large creature with a lion's head, goat horns, and a snake tail. "Stealer of the Wild. In mythos, the creature is called a Chimera..." He said, looking at it. "Once we're in, we fight, no talk or conversation, just strait up attack. It's too powerful for us to kill, but it's slow, our job is to obtain the sword from the back of the room where it's being guarded, then use it to kill the beast." Abisk informed them. "We need our fastest mover to get the sword, and for our physical best to hold it's attention and damage it. My attack stat is seventeen, but my speed is five because of this armor, so one of you probably is faster."

(Alright. Sorry that you have to drop out, but I understand your reasoning.)

Aether faced down the Commander. Lucidia was a decent blade. It would help greatly.

As the blades clashed, Aether gritted her teeth. Alreary it's th - no it moved. She continued this dance, until she felt ithe knew this would suck. Dodging to the side, she kicked it's knee out and stabbed it - no it moved.

This dance continued, and Aether slipped into her calm zone.

Time to get her ass in gear.

"Well, my Attack stat is 11, but my speed is 15, so i guess i'm gonna have to be the one who goes and grabs the sword and kills the beast. I'm ready." Vash put his sword back in his sheath.

"Okay, let's go." He said, rushing in, just like it was suppose to be, the enemy and it's name was as said, even it's design in the room, which lit up slightly upon their entrance. "Go, Vash!" Abisk yelled, running forward and using his Green sword-skill from earlier to cut into it's front leg.

"Ok, LETS GO!" Vash charged his sword with his Blue sword skill and started running past the enemy. He got right in front of the enemy, and surged through the enemy, which didnt kill it, but allowed him to get behind it. "GUYS DISTRACT IT!" He dashed all the way to the end of the hall.

Lock was a little nervous. He was pretty sure that there wasn't a trap up ahead, but he couldn't be certain untill he made it to the top. His speed was only at 10, but his power was at 16, so hopefully he'd be okay. When he reached the top, he realized that he didn't bring any light sourse, which would probably make things difficult later on. However, there were enough cracks in the ceiling for a decent amount of light to get through, so he could see his surroundings... (I'll leave what happens next to you Black Star.)

"Right!" Keimei thrust her sword into the chimera's snout, attracting its attention. She used a blue Sword Skill on it. "If we keep alternating attacks, think it will get confused by all the targets?" She asked, hoping that she'd come up with a good strategy.

"Probably!" Abisk yelled, bringing a upward slash to the beast's neck, but it struck him in the stomach hard, sending him flying into Kei.

Vash arrived at the chest. "HEY GUYS, BEFORE I OPEN THIS, HERE'S A TIP. IMMA MAKE A REFERENCE TO A POPULAR NINTENDO GAME." He opens the chest and looks wide eyed. He then hums the LOZ discovery tune theme. "Dunanananananana, DUN DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!!" He holds the sword up the air on his palm, but then the sword turns a bit and cuts his hand. "AGH, SON OF A- OH GOD THAT HURTS!!!!" He grabbed his hand and buckled to his knees.

Vash got back up. "Ok i gotta do this LEFT HANDED, CAUSE MY RIGHT HAND IS USELESS NOW!" Vash started charging up his sword and pointed it awkwardly at the enemy. "YOUR DONE! WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-" The sword awkwardly made him surge all over the place, zig zagging and missing the enemy, running into Kei and Abisk, knocking them down. "SORRY ABOUT THAT!"

Vash then clasped his right hand over the sword. "Damn taht stings, but i gotta do it." He ran towards the enemy and jumped into the air. "TAKE THIS!!" He quickly did 6 left to right strikes and finished with slamming into the ground with the sword and slicing through  the enemy, finishing it. He looked back towards the other 2, fallen on the ground. "You guys ok?" He said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

(Never do LoZ references in the middle of a fight.)

The NPCs glanced over as Aether dragged her ass into town. Dragging Lucidia, she breathed a sigh of relief. From her previous battles her battle-healing ability had grown. Ten HP every four seconds. She had danced around a bit before going in; those extra health points worked wonders. Still in the red, she had ended up fighting a few boars, which she actually welcomed; Battle-Healing leveled by getting one's HP in the red, and that was something she had done a bit.

As the beta tester stumbled into the inn and paid for a room, Aether wondered if anyone would be at the town in the morning.

Who knew. Third town away, most probably hanging around the Town of Beginnings at first.

More quests for her. She looked at Lucidia.

"I hope I can get an Elucidator sooner rather than later." She mused to herself.

Vash got back up. "Ok i gotta do this LEFT HANDED, CAUSE MY RIGHT HAND IS USELESS NOW!" Vash started charging up his sword and pointed it awkwardly at the enemy. "YOUR DONE! "Yeah, I'm fine..." Abisk said. "You kill it?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." Abisk said. "You kill it?" He asked.

Vash looked back at the monster to see it dissapearing, shattering into a million pieces before death. "Well, this sword is SO STRONG. I took it down in a few hits." Vash stabbed it into the ground. "NOW TO MAKE MY FINAL LOZ REFERENCE." He clicked to get into a duel with Kei. "Ok, now that im in a battle, i can make this work." He started singing to the theme that plays when link takes out the sword or puts in the sword in OOT. "DUNANANANANNANANANA-" He activated the battle healing skill to make him glow bright Green. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!" He lifted the sword into the air, and it slipped from his grasp and fell stabbing him in the foot. "DAMN IT, WHAT THE HELL, AGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" He clutched his foot.

At the top of the rope, there was a small, dark passage, with a couple unlit torches leading along the path.

"It's really not, it's just because the quest demands it to be used at the moment that when you pick it up you get a huge stat buff. It's only a bit better than the sword you were using earlier now." Abisk told Vash. "Now let's ditch this place." He said, turning to the front,

Keimei sighed. I thought we'd at least get a head start on Vash... That was getting really embarrassing. She thought, chasing after Abisk. When they reached the rope, there was no response. "Maybe we should head up too..." She grabbed on to the rope. "What do you say?"
