Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

Lock woke up after having a nightmare about him and evoryone in his party dying, waking him up. He had a feeling he wouldn't be able to fall asleep again for a little while, so he got up, put on the rest of his gear, and left the room. Vash was still sleeping soundly when he left, but as he passed the other room, he noticed the door was cracked open. He peeked in to find Kei asleep in bed, but no Abisk, which concerned him. Of all of the members of their group, he trusted Abisk the least. After all, it was Abisk who suggested that he was already dead and that they leave him, without even checking his map. Not only that, but he was a beta tester, so he should have known to check the map.He might of just forgotten, but Lock wasn't so sure. He had to make sure he Abisk didn't fun away with all of their money and the ingots. After serching around town for a little, he finally found Abisk talking with an NCP villager, probably about a quest.

"Hey, what are you doing out questing so late?" He asked Abisk once he got close enough.

"I'm an insomniac, I can't sleep sometimes, and I figured since I can't sleep I should get this quest done. You can help, if you want, just make sure not to kill any of the enemy we're looking for with the red fruit on it, they're piratical death to us, cause it will attract numerous of the lesser-rare versions of the enemy, if you tag along." Abisk informed him. "And use of the Hiding Skill won't work, I tried it in the Beta, they'll get you anyway." he said, walking away from the area and out into the near-by forest.

"Night..." He muttered, staying up for a few hours, he contemplated leaving right then and there still. "They're too nice a people to have a lot of anger pointed to them..." he thought, sitting up. "But if Kei wants me around, I guess I'll stick around, at least till floor 1 is cleared for sure." He was careful to remove the bedsheets from himself so that he wouldn't wake Kei, then he got up and left the room. "I guess being an insomniac is helpful in one way: I can go grind level's." He thought, looking around. "I should be able to hit up the quest for the Anneal Blade, that way they won't have to run through another quest in the morning, and then I will also be able to Dual-Wield again, if need be."  He thought, running around the town, he found the questgiver. "I need a medicine ingredient from the Little Nepent, it looks like a giant bulb with a flower on top, you need to kill the one with a red flower, but make sure not to attack the ones with the fruit on them!" The NPC said, and Abisk was off.

Vash woke up in the middle of the night. Man, i'm having trouble sleeping. I guess i could go out and grind levels. He went outside and saw Abisk heading out. "Hey Abisk, what are you doing?"

"Heading out to go clear out a quest. Jeeze, i wanted yall to get some rest and the moment I get up and try getting a little clean up done you all follow me." Abisk sighed. "Next thing you know all the NPC's will follow, too." He sighed.

Keimei woke up. I keep having nightmares about this horrible game... Ugh, I won't get any sleep at this rate. She looked around the room, noticing that Abisk had left, and that the door was left slightly open. Where'd he go...? She got up, and went outside the inn. She went to Vash and Lock's room, but they seemed to be gone, too. Oh great... Don't tell me they all ditched me! What did I do to make them all want to leave me? She ran outside, hoping to catch up to them.

When she was outside, she found all three outside, talking. "Hey, don't leave me behind!" She ran over to them, and when she reached them, she stopped to catch her breath.

"Yeah, well I'm just making sure you don't get yourself into trouble. I'm not sure why Vash came. Last I saw him he was still asleep and snoring like a Grizzley Bear." Lock then turned towards the town's nearest exit, "Come on, let's go before Kai wakes up. She'll probably freak out if she finds out we all left the inn without her." He then saw Kai coming towards them. "Oh, too late."

"Jesus they all follow me like a moth to a flame!" He thought. "Hey, Kei... I was hoping to let you all get some sleep and get the quest with the sword done since I couldn't sleep" He said, looking at Lock. "We should head out, it's not a very easy quest..." He said, looking at Kel. "Stick with the group on this one, and be careful of the enemy's, if it has a red fruit, don't kill it, but if you find one with a red flower, kill that one." he said.

Black woke up at 3:00 AM. He has put his clock alarm to that time. Then he left the inn. As he needed ingredients to make potions, he usually needed to go early to find them before players could get up and gain them, it was the same with experience and skilltraining. But it was a doubleside coin, as the enemies were stronger at night.

"Geez... doing this alone is like a kick in the ass. Anyway if i need to become stronger then..." He was saying this when he found an event NPC; " I need a medicine ingredient from the Little Nepent, it looks like a giant bulb with a flower on top, you need to kill the one with a red flower, but make sure not to attack the ones with the fruit on them! " , the NPC said as it walked away... "Well a rare medicine ingredient huh? Looks like my kind of work. After accepting the mission, he walked outside the town. Then he saw a group in the same road. 3 guys and a girl. "Mmm.. maybe they are looking the same... Mmm better I´ll follow them close." Black said then walking slowly as possible without losing track of them.

Keimei nodded. "Got it. Sorry for following you out here..." She scratched her head, feeling dumb for thinking everyone was ditching her. "At least you get more help though, right?"

"It's fine, I'm just use to not sleeping, so I'm OK, but I was hoping you all could, y'know, the less alert you are, the more likely you all are to die..." He said. "But if you all are OK to keep going, I won't hold you back." He said, finally getting into the trees of the forest, and just a bit away, some of the enemy they were to face, but they were white. "Keep your eyes on these things, they're far from small or weak, killing them is easiest if you knock out their root-like feet first, then kill them." He told the group. "Wanna give it a go?"

"Ok then, let's go! I won't screw up the quest this time, I PROMISE!"

Aether woke. She was alone in the forest.

Seeing her hp in the yellow, she pulled a health potion out and drank. Her health back in the green, Aether stood. She had to go get back to the town. Her battle-healing ability had leveled well fighting the wolves. But it could get much better.

Heading back to town, she had plenty of gil thanks to her earnings from all her quests and item sales.

She finally saw the gates. Stepping in, she slipped into the Blacksmith's shop and accosted him.

"Hello Traveler."

"Hello. I need a Black Iron Straight Sword."

"Two thousand gil."

Handing over the money, she equiped the black blade. Satisfied she had a decent weapon, she took out her Tempered Anneal Sword and held them loosely.

She felt better. Dual wielding. Now all she needed was a black coat, and her beta outfit would be complete.

(Well it makes sense that everyone's having so much trouble sleeping, considering the shock they all got earlier in the day.)

"Ok then, let's go! I won't screw up the quest this time, I PROMISE!"

Lock noticed someone creeping up behind them, and was about to tell the others, when Vash shouted that he wouldn't mess up, effectivly grabbing attention of all of the white flower monsters. "Careful Vash!" Lock shouted, and charged at the nearest monster. He smashed it's feet with his hammer, one by one, used his blue sword skill. He jumped into the air and came down smashing his hammer on the monster's head, killing it."I'll let you get the next one Vash. Switch!"

"You can't. This time, a screw up will kill us." Abisk told him. "One wrong slash and we could die."

"Right!" Keimei ran towards another enemy. She used a blue Sword Skill to slash through it, then hacked at its legs to kill it. She stabbed through another one that was targeting her, then slashed down at its legs, killing that one as well. "Switch!"

"Thanks Lock!" He got into his fighting stance. "BRING IT!" He striked at the feet of the monster and then stabbed it in the gut, and did an upward strike, to finish it. An enemy tried to attack him, but he brought up his sword and effectively blocked it, retaliating with a spin attack to send all the enemy around him backing away from him away. "SWITCH!" He switched with lock and got back into defending position, using the healing battle skill to recover his HP in the meantime Lock fought.

"Got it!" Kei dashed towards one plant, cut it's feet, then turned and used her Sword Skill to slice through another. "Switch!"

"All right, my turn!" Lock used a green sword skill and spun around like a top, hitting one of the monsters over and over until it was destroyed. He then slammed another enemy in the back, and then finished it with a downward swing. "Switch!"

"I'm on it!" Abisk yelled, jumping upwards and using the next Sword Skill he had: A blue-glowing downward strike that cut the last of the enemy in the area in half. "Good job, everyone."

"Heh, yeah!" Kei sheathed her sword. "Looks like our target wasn't there, though..." She muttered, hoping that they'd be done already. As much as she wanted to help out, she was still really tired. "You know where it is, right?" She asked Abisk.

"Not a clue. It's a slightly-rare enemy to encounter, normally, but with for of us we can campus the area around faster and find it quickly." Abisk told Kei. "We might find one soon, or from hours from now..."

"In that case, we should probably split up into groups of two, that way we're still protected by someone at all times." Lock said to the group. "Should we split into our usual groups, or do you guys want to mix it up?"

"Or maybe a better option" Black said as he walked out of hiding. Of course he was nervous at the time being... they could easily kill him or something like that, after all he had seen many chaotic actions during their stay in the game... he took a deep breath and then he began to talk again. " The Little Nepent is a tricky one you know, but you can find more easy on water sources. That for sure if you want to reduce the amount of time"

"I would prefer to keep things the same, myself. It works well, our safety margin is good as it is." Abisk tells Lock. "Our goal here is to live. Do what we have to to live, that's what we need to do." But then someone spoke up.

Black said as he tried to calm himself, after all who doesn´t panic with a sword pointing at you. "The name´s Black. Nice to meet you... " He said as he put his right hand on his head.
