Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

"In that case, we should probably split up into groups of two, that way we're still protected by someone at all times." Lock said to the group. "Should we split into our usual groups, or do you guys want to mix it up?"

"I'd say that our normal groups would work best. These enemies are worse than what we've fought so far, so we'll want to go with who we're used to." Kei suggested.

"And that´s why I was being careful here... Geez... calm yourself a little, If I were and enemy I wouldn´t have go out don´t you think?" Black said as he tried to calm himself, after all who doesn´t panic with a sword pointing at you. "The name´s Black. Nice to meet you... " He said as he put his right hand on his head.

Kei jumped when she heard someone else's voice in the dark. "Did you have to sound so secretive about it?" She asked, a little angry. "How do you know that they tend to be around water...?" She asked, somewhat suspicious.

"Appearing from no-where in this world means you could try and Player Kill, or PK us, just because you don't believe it's a death-game." Abisk said. "Watch yourself." He said, sheathing his sword on his back. "My name is Abisk. Pull something and you'll hit zero faster than you can say "oops"." He warned the newcomer.

Stepping into the inn, Aether bought herself a room and headed up. Taking her leave from the world, she locked the door and shrugged her fombat gear off into her inventory before slipping into the bed.

She was utterly exhausted now.

"Tomorrow...I have to grind...I can't...be weak now..." she muttered, before slipping into sleep.

[Geez... talk about nervous people... but of course... I had to jump from nowhere, right?] He thought while hearing Abisk and the girl. "Well, I can do potions, so i get the info early this morning of how to craft and find ingredients. And then I heard about the Nepent. You can make a perfect antidote with the Nepent´s root." He said while pulling out from his inventory a little bottle with a liquid inside, then he launched it at Aether. "It´s a potion, for your HP."

"Calm down, Vash. He probably was wanting to get the ingredients for the potion he was talking about." He looked Black in the eye. "You have the skill that allows you to make healing items... Hm." Abisk thought for a moment. "If you would like to join us for a while, I would like to invite you." He said. "But. Give me a reason, I'll have you shiskabob'd in a moment." He said, only did everyone else notice that he had his sword out and at Black's neck already. Placing his sword away, he looked around. "Black, you head to the lake, if you see one with a red flower, that's what we need to find. Me and Kei will take the left side of the forest, Vash and lock, take the right."

Heh, Abisk is pretty brave. Kei admired Abisk's leadership. "Right, let's go." Kei kept a grip on her sword in case there were any more surprise attacks, and began to head off to the left.

"Red flower... Not seeing anything like that here." She sighed, really wishing that she'd stayed in bed. "You finding anything?" She asked Abisk, hopeful she'd overlooked something.

"Nothing yet... Wait... Crap!" Absik whispered, the enemy with a fruit on it. "We gotta move from here, slowly and silently." he whispered to Kei. "The one with a red fruit on it... We can't get seen by it or we're in major trouble..." He brought his voice just a bit below a whisper, grabbing Kei's wrist, he pulled her as far as he could from the thing.

Kei was shocked by suddenly being pulled, but kept silent. Once they were further away, she finally opened her mouth. "That was too close..." She whispered, still a little nervous about the possibility of it hearing them. "Thanks for getting me out of there..."

"No problem..." He said, breathing a sigh of relief. "What happens is if we strike the fruit, even just a nick, it will release a odor that attracts hordes of the common ones, droves, I barely survived it when I was level fifteen..." He noted. "I hope we find it soon... I don't like this forest.."

"Yeah... It's worse than that tunnel." Kei looked around, nervous about their chances of possibly running into something like the fruit creature, or something worse. She was glad that there was someone like Abisk with her, who knew what he was doing. "I hate to screw up our luck here, but... There isn't anything worse than that in these forests, is there?" She asked, regretting asking her question.

"A few things, but they normally only come out of their burros in the morning. We should be fine till around two." Abisk told her, looking around. By luck, not one, but two of the Red-Flowered enemy off a ways away, but a few of the fruited ones also appeared along with it. "...Kei... I want you to move back and out of the way. If you start smelling an odd aroma, run for your life." He instructed, drawing his blade and approaching the group of the enemy.

Kei smirked. "I'm not letting you run off on your own and put yourself in danger. You're my friend, got it? I can't let you do anything that can get you killed. I'll run if I smell anything... But you're coming with me, if that happens." She prepared her sword, and stood confidently. "Now then, I'll let you go first. You know how to attract the attention of those guys without getting us killed right away."

"Alright. Make sure you use low-stabbing Sword Skills if it comes time." They were nearly at the beasts. "From behind the fruit we have the best chance, and since the fruit grows at the top, we should be fine to stab at that. We kill them first, then the red-flowered ones. Be careful." He whispered, he was right behind one of them, prepping his Sword Skill, aiming for the very base of it's feet.

"Right. I'll target another one, it's best if we can take down two at once. That way, we don't need to worry about having to fight more of them at once." Kei whispered back, and snuck up behind another one, aiming a Sword Skill for its feet. She looked to Abisk for the approval to take it out.

Abisk nodded, there were for of the fruited ones, so their odds weren't too good, but even still, he had to hope it would succeed. He plunged the blade deep into the beast's legs, then pulled the blade out of it by cutting through the leg's side, and followed with a slash downwards at it's abdomen, causing it to perish.

Keimei mirrored Abisk's motions, killing her enemy as well. She held her breath, and prepared to run in case she'd messed up and broken the fruit. Thankfully, there wasn't a smell or anything. Of course, killing the beasts attracted the attention of the others, those with and without fruits. "Ugh... This isn't looking too good." She stabbed through another fruited creatures feet, and slashed through the lower part of its abdomen a couple times, managing to take it down without breaking the fruit. "One left!"

"I'm gonna get them all in one swing!" Abisk yelled, using the green spinning Sword Skill from earlier, he cut down the two Red-flowered ones easily, but the other one bent down intentionally and the blade just barely scraped it, but the beast died. A kamikaze. "That's not- I've never seen that happen before..." Abisk thought as soon as the smell overcame the area. "Run! Abisk yelled, grabbing Kei by the wrist again, the enemies started coming from all over, though, and they were surrounded. "C-Crap!" Abisk thought. "I've never seen an enemy intentionally make a move like that, but it was surely intentional: no creature just randomly bends like that..." He thought. "We're going to die... So.. early..." He thought, gripping his blade tight. "Kei... I'm sorry..." He said, looking at the overwhelming number. "Of all the crappy hands to be dealt..." He thought. "I count somewhere near twenty-five. Our odds are slim..." He swallowed, opening his menu, he transferred all but his sword and armor over to her. "Climb up these here trees and move as fast as you can between them." He swallowed harshly again, knowing his fate. "I'm too slow to make it, you're not, and if you're worrying about me ittl slow you down."

Black nodded as he heard Abisk´s words. Then the group got split up.

"Mmm... the NCP was sure of that location... mmm" He said while walking on the road to the lake nearby. If there were a water source the percentage of success finding the  Nepent with the red flower will increase. Lucky for him there was it. "Heh, just as expected... mmmm wait a second". He said as he look to another one with fruits. "Damn... That´s a fruit one... mmm maybe this will be..." He said while pulling out of his inventory two bottles with two colored liquids on it, then he mixed up both of them. "And it´s done." Black said as he launched it to a big stone not so far of there.

Then a strange smell came out, moving the Nepent with the fruit at the stone´s direction, leaving the Nepent with the flower alone.

"Now´s the chance" He said while pulling out his sword. Hen he ran towards it, hitting it with a horizontal slash, then the Nepent attacket with a whip like, hitting on Black, reducing his HP bar 1/5 part. " Ngrr.... Now take this!!" He shouted as he made 3 vertical slash moves at it, reducing it´s HP bar to zero. Then the monster dropped the item: Nepent´s Root x 3 "Yes! The mission item!, and with a bonus" he said happy about it, but then he heard a noise coming from the forest.

"Oh oh looks like they are in trouble." Black said while saving the items, then mixing another potion and moving at the noise source.

Kei gave a small chuckle. "Don't you remember what I told you before? I'm not leaving you alone to die." She gripped her sword. "I'm getting you out of here with me... We're going to fight them all." She smirked. "Even if I die, at least I won't have to live knowing that I left a friend here to die... I'll have no regrets if I die fighting with you."

"I-If your sure... I'm just a dusty old beat-up guy..." He joked the best he could in the situation. "I won't hold you from it, then." He said. "I have an idea, try using the spinning Sword Skill I've been using: We're safe, since the fruit doesn't attract more of the ones bearing fruit, if we both use it we can clear a bunch out at once..."

Lock and Vash kept searching, but found nothing. But then, Lock noticed Kai and Abisk running in their direction chased by several Nampants. His first instinct was to run, but then he decided to do the honorable thing. "Vash, I'm going to try and help them out. If you don't come along, I won't hold it against you, so don't feel pressured to follow if you don't want to." And with, Lock ran towards his two comrades. hammer in hand.

Aether sat up. Looking down...she realized she needed different clothes. She couldnt feel comfortable.

Sighing, she got her things and headed out to buy some clothes. Specifically nightclothes.

Entering a shop, she broused the selection and found a one-piece dress that would work. But she was about three hundred gil short.

No worries.

She hurried out, going deep into the forest. The place around the Nepent flower quest destination should have a few defent monsters that would give some okay drops. Always good to sell stuff.

Stretching, she drew her two swords. Might as well farm on her way.

Keimei prepared the Sword Skill. "Glad you understand, Abisk." She ran towards a group of the plants, and used the Sword Skill on them to wipe out quite a few. However, a couple attacked her, bringing her HP down a bit. "Ugh..." She groaned, looking back to Abisk, who seemed to be doing okay. She slashed at the feet of two more of the plants, managing to kill those.

"Hey Kei!" Then he muttered under his breath, "thanks for not acknowledging me." "So, what's going on, why are you and Abisk on the run? Did you find a huge enemy that you guys can't beat or something?" He noticed the Nampants behind them. "Crap. Uh, anything i should know about this things before i rush in and kill them?"
