Who do you think the seven lights are so far we got Mickey,sora,kairi,riku, and lea(my personal fav) and ill assume yen sud since he's a master if they decide to involve him that would mean technically there one spot open or two if he's left out who do you guys think will fill the left over openings honestly im hoping for some few keyblade wielders but who do you guys wanna to see or what you guys wanna see honestly they can exclude new characters if they let Mickey be less of a cameo hes like the kh yoda in my eyes anyway tell me what you guys think

As long as Xion and Roxas aren't part of the final battle I'll be happy.

He'll get stuck on the staircase. Xion didn't get an Organization chair because Xehanort didn't count properly.   Ansem the Wise probably won't be. He left his data to Riku so the others can figure it out and while yes, the Lights don't have to be keyblade wielders, Yen Sid said they needed 7 Guardians of Light so they should be able to at least fight or else why not just bring in the pricesses if they just need to stand there. Also the heroes are doing this to prevent the X-blade from being forged so they would need the lights to be as combat strong as possible. That's also why I think they'll aim for more than 7 lights with all of the potential fighters they have plus new characters. I'm not sure Terra will be saved early on enough to be an "official" light or at least he won't have his proper body. Same goes for Vanitas and Isa; they both will surely cross over to the good side but it might be during or just before the big clash and so the 7 lights would have already been chosen. It would seem strange if Aqua, Ven, Riku and other main characters weren't one of the lights so maybe Nomura was just avoiding spoilers by saying part of the climax is the 7 vs 13 clash OR there will be a 7 vs 13 battle at the same time that the other important characters have to go elsewhere to deal with something urgent. Maybe even Marluxia could rise up again with his own group. I wouldn't want Young Xehanort to come back since timetravel in any story makes everything confusing and his older self should be the one to deal/reflect upon whatever happens. If Disney characters like the Beast could be a light then maybe by "familiar" Nomura meant some of the darknesses are Disney characters. Then there is still that empty spot that Sora was supposed to fill so I hope it's like you said that we'll see a lot of new characters who could end up going to either side with some of then hopefully having a connection to old Org XIII members 9-12.

If Xehanort can't count properly, and Rai can't count properly...Rai is also a Xehanort o.o

Actually, Xehanort's plan is to use the heroes to forge the χ-blade, with the Princesses being a plan B in case the heroes don't show up. The pieces of light don't need to be the actual shards of the Keyblade, only people with strong light. Xehanort figured at some point in BBS that the pieces are interchangeable, thus he decided to have Aqua as a spare even though her heart is not pure light. You may also notice he is actually going to use himself and 12 clones to forge the blade, rather than actually searching for the actual shards of darkness.

I actually think the foring of the χ-blade is unavoidable.

 

And the reason they have to protect the Princesses is because their hearts actually hold the universe.

Forget what I said. Someone recently brought up in KHInsider that Xehanort is actually using his own body now, so Terra has his own body, but is being controlled by Xehanort. The person also mentioned the same may be happening to Eraqus. If you want to read, here you go.

The old man is probably unredeemableby this point. Young Xehanort at least has been indicated by the staff to not be neccessarily evil, and from the Xehanort Reports, I get the impression that Xehanort wasn't evil until he let a ton of darkness enter his body while in the Lanes Between.

Seeing how second chances are a very strong theme in the series, it would seem a bit off if he were simply sent back to his time without any sort of second chance since you can't change fate, so the only solution I see to this would have the Key to Return Hearts somehow allowing Xehanort to simultaneously go back to the past and stay in the present.

I don't think there's any Disney villain popular or important enough to fit there.

Also, if you go by the theory I linked above, "familiar" could mean that Eraqus is included.

No, he didn't. That was his speculation. He thought the lights are Keyblade wielders and was just listing all the ones he knew, but Nomura said the lights aren't neccessarily Keyblade wielders, which already debunks Mickey's words.

Nomura said the seven lights will be a surprise, and that who they are will only be revealed in the climax, so there's no way for anyone to be confirmed at this point.
