How long this 8th gen of consoles will last prediction

Posted

the 5th gen lasted 5 - 6 years, The 6th gen lasted 6- 7years and the 7th gen lasted 7-8 years. My prediction is that this gen will last 7-9 years and we won't see 9th gen consoles until 2019-2021.

The PlayStation 3 is still going strong. It won't last as long as the PlayStation 2 but it's still got a couple years left in it.

I don't think Nintendo can wait til 2019. The Wii U is struggling and it's hardware isn't next gen.

what I am trying to say is, how long will this console gen last before the 9th gen of consoles is released

Nintendo has made 378.57 million dollars from  the GBA, DS, Wii, and 3DS + the 5.2 million that is coming from the Wii U which is 380.77 million

that is a pretty big number

Nintendo has the resources to keep the Wii U going for at least another 5 years . A lot can happen in five years. Remember the disaster of the PS3 launch, it took Sony most of the generation to come back. but they did and the PS3 is outselling the Xbox 360 now( world wide sales).

you can kind of say that PS4 and Xbox One hardware is outdated too. at least compared to a high end PC

Well , PS3 did last long and it will still last for some more years . I don't really think the PS4 generation will last for long though . And of course none of them will ever reach PS2 ...
