We were living in a time of technology advances, a time of union and for unknown reasons a time of true peace. We were around 7000 millions of people around the Earth. You can be sure that no one could have predicted that in only two years the population would have been reduced to only 900000 people, scattered around the world. Cities like Paris, London and New York now are history, and never seen before monsters roam the fiends, the eternal dusk now covering the world makes to think than time itself has stopped, but looking around you see that statement is a pure lie, and the eternal reminder of that day; the day of the Catastrophe, is the huge piece of land floating in the sky; the Floating Continent. 

 

But what exactly happened? Unfortunately, almost no one knows the reason, because almost everyone who knew... are death.

Chapter 00: The gift appears - The monsters invades. 

 

It was a new day again. By exact date you could say it was September 8th. The autumm will began soon... but since two years ago, that means nothing, at least not here in Rainfall. This town, once known by it´s rivers and green fiends now was a place surrounding by walls. But for some people.... this day changed many things up. 

 

"Wooah! what the!" Well... that´s not the usual way to wake up morning, but for someone who broke the side table trying to tap the alarm clock... well that was shocking.... "How... Did I did that? No... maybe it was damaged or somethin... Geez!!" Again the same one was shocked as he broke the knob in the door. "what the ... ok... calm down... it´s nothing ... just calm down.... " he was saying this when he reminded of something: "Oh right It´s my turn in the watch!" He said while getting dressed and leaving the room as fast he could. Then he went outside the small and damaged house that he inhabit. His name was Edgar, and by such... the day that changed everything again... was about to begin. 

 

(Ok guys lets begin this RP. The story will be divided into chapters allowing to move in certain orden around the story... now the stage is yours.)

Zero woke up. He sighed... Not much to do... Ever since this crap happened-the disaster- he had no real form of media... It was ironic, that as soon as he started a review show on YouTube... The apocalypse happened, Or whatever. He went outside for a breath..

 

" -'cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home..." Jaxx finished the song. He put his Guitar down, and went to wash his hands. As soon as his hands hit the water, he felt a shock. "Ack!" What the hell...

"I´m gonna be late! I´m gonna be late!" Edgar shouted as he began to ran towards the watch point. In Rainfall two watch points were created at the east and west side of the town to oversee the monsters behavior aroun the town. Monsters appeared just the same day as the Catastrophe in many shapes like animals, and such, they began to attack people... one of the reasons why the wall was built around the town. and watch has the duty to alert citicens about danger for getting them inside the refuge. Edgar´s watch point was in the east side, 8 minutes far from home, he reached the main street then he saw someone familiar. [Oh it´s Zero... ok calm down and control your moves.... ] he thought as he walked towards him. "Hey Zero. Is your watch turn too?" he asked. 

"Sure, why not..." Zero said. Not much to do, anyways, he thought... "You look nervous man..." Zero noted Edgar's movements were... Off

Kagi begrudgingly ate what was left as he put on his coat, the chill starting to really get to him, "If it's gonna get this cold, I guess I should get some more fire wood,"

 

Kagi grabbed his halberd, a weapon that he had put his trust in for the last 2 years, and headed out the door, planning on gathering wood from the small forested area near-by. Before he even left the threshold, Kagi could see his breath in the cold

(Well your powers will awake, also at the same time certain event will happen and you will have time to think about how to use it. Trust me)

 

"n.. nervous? nah.... just a weird morning you know...." Edgar replied with just a deep breath... after all who wouldn´t be nervous after breaking things only with a touch? "Now thinking about it... today is two years since... yow know...." Edgar said with a more serious tone.

Zero imagined the huge loss of life... Motherless children , widows, an widowers... "Yea..." MGE tried to change the subject. "Did I ever tell you my real name?"

Kagi checked the sharpness of his halberd's blade as he walked through the town, the monsters that inhabited the wilderness outside the Rainfall's walls were not to be taken lightly, stopping at a small supply store for a hatcet for the wood and a whetstone for his blade, wanting to be prepared for the worst out there. He headed towards one of the gates near one of the town's 2 watch towers. Kagi usually didn't have any trouble leaving the town for wood or anything else, even though going beyond the walls was frowned upon, but he would still occasionally meet with a little resistance trying to leave. Hopefully no one would take note of his little trip into the woods.

 

Even with his coat, he felt the worst of the cold, Kagi didn't understand, autumn would be just beginning, so why was so cold already? His shivering was visible to anyone that saw him. On the other hand, Kagi noticed he was the only one whose breathe was visible in the early autumn chill

Jaxx went outside to see Kagai. "Yo!" He waved "did you hear my tunes!" He waved his traveling guitar as a sign.

"Mmmm no... If I remember... now with only 400 people on this town... is not like if no one would notice it." Edgar replied then he saw in front as he walked. "Well we are here." he sead as he reached the staircase to a small base up on the wall. he began to walk on the stairs, then he turned to Zero "Just for curiosity... haven´t you feel like if something changed inside yourself? he asked with his nervous tone.  

"Can't say that I d-did" Kagi replied as he continued walking and continued shivering. (I need to get that fire wood soon), Kagi thought to himself, "You feeling really c-cold t-t-too? Or is just me?" He asked Jaxx through chattering teeth, (This cold is starting to get ridiculous), Kagi thought

Zero nodded. "I had this wired headache today and I..." He heard a 'ding' sound on his phone. Wait- his phone? That shouldn't be... He pulled out his phone... And it was on! His phone hand never worked since the disaster... But now....

"Can't say that I d-did" Kagi replied as he continued walking and continued shivering. (I need to get that fire wood soon), Kagi thought to himself, "You feeling really c-cold t-t-too? Or is just me?" He asked Jaxx through chattering teeth, (This cold is starting to get ridiculous), Kagi thought

Jaxx shook his head. "No, amigo, I haven't..." He looked at him, putting his hand to his forehead "maybe you have a cold?" As soon as he touched his forehead, it felt like frostbite. "Damn.. That's a big cold..." He inadvertently shocked Kagi as well. "Dude... Your whole body is below..."

"Yaahh!!" Kagi jumped back at the shock, "Crimeny, what did you just do?" It was a small shock, but unexpected none the less. "Look, I gotta g-get some f-f-fire w-wood, see ya r-round,"

 

Kagi arrived at the gate and stared up at the tower as he walked to the wall's gate, maybe Kagi would just start a small camp fire out in the forest before heading back to the town, the sooner he could heat himself up the better.

"Dude!" Jaxx said, following Kagai. "I seriously don't think you understand! You are cold literally to the touch!"

"Mmm... what happen Zero?" Edgar asked as he looked Zero´s phone.... it was working. Since the day of the catastrophe electronic devices were damaged, so cellphones and computers didn´t work. They were so lucky of still having electric energy. "how did you make it work? not like if you can call anyone... right?" He replied... then he finished climbing the stairs, looking around there was only the table and the bics. "looks like they gone already.... Geez... what a morons...." Edgar said as he saw the near forest and up there the mass of land floating with small clouds over it.... 

Zero dialed Edgar's phone... "I don't..." He heard a ring in the distance... "What the hell is happening!" He looked at his friend . "What happened to you?"

"Why do you think I need fire wood?" Kagi called back. Kagi didn't know what was going on with him, but he knew that he needed to do something before he freezes to death, "I can find out what's wrong with me after I make a fire eat something that doesn't turn cold after I finish cooking it,"

 

Kagi stared at his hand, shaking with cold, (I don't mind being cold, I'd just like to stop shaking like a leaf) he thought feeling rather annoyed, he clenched his hand into a fist and felt his shivering lessen slightly, "huh..."

"To me... Welll not really much.... I was justa sking ab...woooah" Edgar was talking when he unconciousnesly put his hand on the desk breaking it, as he fell on the floor..."Ouch.... well this is what happened..." He said while getting up. "I´m breaking things too easy... and that table was fine ... just like the door and clock in my room"

"What?" Said Jaxx . "That must have been a quick cold..." He said, as he noticed the shivering decrease...

"To me... Welll not really much.... "Well..." Zero said. "You have super strength, and I have... What?" He looked out at the phone. "Telephone-kenisis?"

"What?" Said Jaxx . "That must have been a quick cold..." He said, as he noticed the shivering decrease..."Well..." Zero said. "You have super strength, and I have... What?" He looked out at the phone. "Telephone-kenisis?

"N...don´t be kidding Zero. Just maybe these are coincidences... right?" he said while trying to get himself back to normal... "a.. anyway we need to get onto watch.. we don´t want to get...into... what the...." Edgar said as he looked with the binoculars to the Floating Continent "Are those.... Planes?... Not again... " Edgar said while looking at Zero. 

Joshua sat against the wall of his old home, fiddling with the grass and flowers strewn around. There was no other home, so...perhaps it still was his home. But...his home...with no family any longer. "Huh...?" He inquired at the sudden blooming of a withered flower. A celandine, bright and yellow, vivid with life and ardor. And yet, the dark shadow of the floating continent seemed to be placed with the sun so that such shadow loomed over it all. Not far from was the wall separating Rainfall and the the wildnerness. He could even look up to see one of the watchtowers. Rainfall. It was a...fitting name.

While his shaking wasn't a problem anymore, Kagi was still freezing, maybe it was time for a new coat? "I still need to get some fire wood for later, so don't worry too much about me," Kagi said as he began passing the gate, "try not to shock anyone else will ya?" And with that, he last Jaxx in town and made his way into the forest

 

A good half hour of cutting down and gathering branches, Kagi had lit a small fire in a small clearing, warming his hands by the flickering flames. He wasn't shivering, but somehow still felt cold. (Guess I'll head back now,) Kagi gathered enough woodnfor the next month or so, and the fire he made here want helping much, getting closer to it would mean putting his hands in the fire, and merging it larger meant running the running the risk of causing a forest fire or worse, attracting the attention of some kind of monster. Kagi gave a deep sigh as he stood up, and as he did, he notice that his breathe, visible as a thin mist, seemed to gleam and sparkle, almost like crystals. Kagi raised an eyebrow at the odd happening, but decided not to question it.

 

After putting out the small fire, Kagi began his walk back to town, when he heard something, like a growl and a screech in one, "please don't be..." something pale and gray crashed through dead branches at Kagi, who had side stepped and readied his halberd,"damnit, just my luck,". Kagi tossed aside the large bundle of wood and waited for the thing to show itself again, which apparently didn't want to be seen, but heard, and let out a savage cry that could be heard for miles

 

(I dont know how the monsters are supposed to be like or if im rushing their entrance, so sorry if im getting ahead of myself)

The planes were near the Floating continent, as just like they planned to attack. "those fools... what they think they are doing!?" Edgar shouted as the planes reached the border of the continent..... then... just like in a glimpse a huge purple light like a barrier came from the place, then one by one the planes crashed and began to fall... fortunately the distance was long enough to be safe....

 

"Those fools... they knew this would happen again" Edgar explaimed with a depressed look...  but also at the same time... the air changed... just like if something was on it´s move.... when.... " What the- !" A huge growl was heard maybe by the entire town... "The alarm!!" Edgar shouted as he ran next to Zero, then he began to push a button, after that a siren began to sound...

"Zero! close the gates now!" he shouted.

Kagi could hear movement in the surrounding trees, did that first one attract more? Kagi wasn't going to stick around and find out, and made s break for it, ditching the wood he had just collected, he was pretty much just ignoring the cold now anyway. As he ran, Kagi seemed movement behind him and spun, avoiding a pair of sharp claws by inches. He brought up his halberd a thrusted, feeling it impale the creatures upper arm.

 

Ugly didn't begin to describe what the creature looked like, if it had to resemble something, it was like a large cat with an almost reptilian head, patches of scraggly, wiry fur were here and there, making it look like something had coughed out, its skin was a pale, dying gray, and its skin was baggy and sagging slightly, looking as if it were melting, (aren't you just the cutest thing, I can't wait for the nightmares) Kagi jested in his mind.

 

The halberd was what was keeping the distance between Kagi and this monster, he'd have to react fast once he pulled his weapon back. Kagi pulled his halberd out, and almost immediately the monster pounced. With a quick, upward slash, the beast fell to the ground with a pathetic whine, but Kagi wasn't safe yet, another growl could be heard behind him, Kagi felt as if he could handle himself, but he began shaking, he was cold, "damnit..." his grip on his halberd was weakening, and he thought he heard a lot more just another one or two. Kagi ran towards the gate, the wall wouls be his best bet at safety

Oliver walked out of the inn he had stayed in for the night, a little distraught. He had just come into town yesterday to sell the pelts he had obtained in a nearby forest. After he had sold them all, he called it a night and took a room at the inn. Nothing out of the ordinary about that. After all, him and his uncle Ivan used to sell things they found in the wilderness at towns like these all the time. It wasn't until this morning that things started to get weird. When he turned on the sink in his room's bathroom, it went nuts, and water started flying everywhere. He was soaked, but only for a moment. As he though about how much he wanted the water to get off of him, it did just that, and in less than a minute he was dry again. He didn't know what to make of the whole thing.

 

He was heading to town's market place to purchase supplies when he heard the alarm sound, and hurried towards the nearest gate. He was able to run rather quickly, due to having nothing with him save for the money in his pocket, sword on his back, and full canteen at his side in case he got thirsty.

Quint looked up from the tracks he'd looking at. The town was sounding the alarm... and he was outside. He was going to be locked out. That was bd. Quint quickly picked himself up, and fled towards the gates. He saw another young man fleeing towards the gates as well. However, the difference between them was that the other was being chased by wolves. Well, they were hardly wolves, but those were the closest things you could call them. "Go!" He called to the other fleer. Quint readied his bow, aimed, and fired. Bullseye. Technically, wolfseye, but that didn't matter as that one tumbled to a stop. Quint pivoted and simed again, but his concentration was lost by a pounding headache. It felt like someone was hitting his head with a hammer... Quint tried again, and fired. This one went for the chest, but still hit and killed the target. Satisfied, Quint ran for the gates, his bow still in hand. Couldn't be too careful.

Mes had woken up hot. Well she always woke up the pretty kind of hot, but today she was smoking. Well, not that kind of smok... nevermind. In anycase, the orphanage told her she was running a high fever. Her skin was also hot to the touch. Mes had sighed when receiving this bad news, but she tried to relax. Unfortunately, she heard the alarm sound soon after. She needed to see what this was about. She grabbed the blade she had been practicing with recently, and ran out. She headed for the walls, wanting to get a look for herself.
