13 Year old Gamer hung himself after a fine from Microsoft.

Look for 13 year old gamer 'hanged' himself on the internet.

If only he had thought of limiting himself to x-number of pounds. Then he would have been able to realize when enough was enough.Obviously he didn't realize how much he was spending. And the guilt from that drove him to take his own life. I know 13 is a little young, but I wonder if he chose to talk with his mom about it, he'd be able to get some sort of job to ease his conscience.Though I guess that's just the immaturity of some 13 year-olds.

And those are the consequences of uncontrolled Internet shopping ....  :/

Although it's sad, of course, I don't have much sympathy for the boy's actions. I wasn't there, obviously, so dunno how the mother really reacted and all, but I think there wasn't anything to justify this. It's tragic, but the reason was undeniably ridiculous.

*gulps* I'm 13 :O. I hope it won't happen to me.

Then don't steal your parent's credit card and buy more games than you can afford.

Why do these things still keep on happening >.<

He had his whole life ahead of him :(

I won't. I promise.

It's hardly fair to call him immature. Even adults struggle with budgeting and not going beyond their means especially. The money/payments were made too easy to access and he got in over his head. And he's 13. In England the only two jobs he can legally get would be to be a paper boy or to deliver milk. Neither of that would help at all in paying this money back.

Sad, sad news this is.

Yes I do think it is a tragedy. I mean it isn't something new to have a kid make a judgement error when taking a parent's credit card and just spending more than they could afford. That's just a kid being a kid. And I generally think of kids as immature, or at least inexperienced. Since I know that they have a lower chance of knowing as much as someone older.(that doesn't mean there aren't mature or experienced kids out there)What I was meaning was it was a tragedy that he didn't get the bright idea to impose some sort of limit on himself. Nor did he take his resolve to direct it to asking his mom what he could do to help or at least learn from it.And yeah a paper route might not pay much, but it would help clear his conscious. For example: if he was able to get a paper route he might get something as low as 10 pounds a week or as high as 100 pounds a month. Assuming he wouldn't need to get a bike for the job, he could probably clear the debt within 4-6 months at best and would just be paying the interest at worst. That might not be ideal but it is still something. (again assuming he could handle having a paper route)

Why do these things still keep on happening >.<

Yup, and he chose to end it now.
