Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Signups)

Posted

Legends tell of the second Keyblade War, when the seven Lights defeated the Thirteen Darknesses in a battle for the X-Blade and Kingdom Hearts. Since then, young Keyblade wielders have been appearing in all sorts of different worlds. In order to prevent another incident like the Keyblade Wars from happening again, the seven Lights became teachers for the future generations, training them all in the arts of the Keyblade, and ensuring that they kept the balance of light and darkness stable. As a result, various establishments were made to teach young wielders, becoming known as Keyblade academies. Over time, more masters helped run these, and there are now a few major academies among the worlds. 50 years after the war, a group of Keyblade wielders traveled among the worlds, seemingly prepared to upset the balance. Some believe that their goal is to destroy darkness, and fill the worlds with light. Many worlds have fallen victim to their cause already, and others are in danger. Now, the newest generation of Keyblade wielders must protect the balance, and defeat these light-obsessed Keyblade Wielders...

Spell (Everyone starts with one spell, then gains more over time. The spell will be at its most basic level, too. Example: Fire, Blizzard, Cure, etc.):

Light/Dark: (Note: This doesn't mean good/evil, it just means which element your character uses. Think of how Riku used darkness, despite being a good guy)

My characters:

Name: Allitt

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: Allitt has long blonde hair. She's fairly tall, and commonly wears a blue hoodie with the Kingdom Hearts symbol on the front, and blue shorts. In more recent times, she usually wears a gray cloak similar to that of the Organization's, to show her alliance towards the light.

Personality: Allitt is very sarcastic, and has a tendency to get into trouble. She was known as the class clown of the academy which she attended. She's very competitive, and can turn anything into some sort of challenge. However, she has a tendency to push people away, and has become a bit of a loner over the years.

Bio: Allitt grew up with her older brother Indy, and both learned that they were gifted with the ability to use the Keyblade. Both attended lessons to learn how to use theirs, and vowed to use their ability to protect the balance between light and dark. Over time, Allitt became more distant, due to her antics causing many people to begin to dislike her. She also harbored a slight hatred towards the darkness, and began to believe that light was what the world needed. These feelings continued to grow, and she eventually heard of a group that planned to destroy darkness and replace it with light. She decided that this was her way to bring justice to the worlds, and left the academy to seek out this group.

Keyblade: Allitt's Keychain is known as the Deep Freeze. It is similar in appearance to Aqua's Rainfell, but with a lighter color scheme. It offers a decent balance of strength and magic.

Spells: Blizzard, Magnet

Light/Dark: Light

Name: Indy

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance: Indy wears a red jacket over a black t-shirt, and black jeans. He has medium length black hair, and is slightly taller than his sister.

Personality: Indy is quieter, and tends to think through situations rather than run straight into them. He's usually level-headed, and can stay calm in even the most dangerous circumstances. However, he does have a more light-hearted side, which is usually seen when he's with his friends. He has a strong sense of justice, and cares for his sister.

Bio: Indy learned that he had the ability to use a Keyblade from a young age. Since then, he'd trained with his twin sister at a prestigious academy, and learned to control his power over darkness as well. He'd been raised learning that the balance between light and dark was very important, and made it his life goal to preserve this balance. However, as his sister began to change, he became frustrated with her thoughts about the balance, and darkness. He had tried to convince her that light cannot exist without darkness, and vice versa. When he learned that she was leaving the academy, he confronted her and attempted to make her stay. The two dueled, but Indy was unable to prevent his sister from leaving. Since then, it has become clear that the event put him under a great amount of emotional stress.

Keyblade: Indy wields the Burning Ambition, a keyblade with length similar to the Kingdom Key. The guard and teeth are red, while the shaft is black. The teeth are shaped like flames. This Keyblade allows for greater offensive power.

Spells: Fira

Light/Dark: Dark

FINALLY, we have a balance of people at the mansion and the train station.

Wait... *counts*

6 people at the mansion, 7 people at the train station. That sound about right.

  • 2 months later...

So out of boredom, I decided I'd take all of our characters and do an analysis. What analysis, you might ask? Well, it was an analyzing analysis, full of analyzing the analysis of analysis's analysis. Analysis.

Okay, for real: I decided to pick voice actors and voice actresses for our characters based on their personalities and who I think would fit them best and give them a good voice if that were to ever happen.

So here it is:

Allitt: Tara Platt - The sarcasm and loner elements of Allit's character can be perfectly captured by Tara Platt's mature and stone cold performance. Might be a little jarring to see the hi-jinks that Allit used to pull and hear her as Platt, considering she doesn't usually play characters like that, but still, it can sound good if done right.

Indy: Bryce Papenbrook - Given that he's the main character technically andalsobecauseFlashwouldprobablychoosethisguyoveranyotherifgiventhechoice this is a blantanly obvious choice. Papenbrook has a good range: he can be happy, sad, angry, nervous, confident, badass, take your pic. There's not really too much to say.

Cid: Jason Marsden - Cid's personality is supposed to be weird and erratic, and Jason Marsden, given the wacky cartoon roles he has been given over the years, can fit this very well; he can make Cid sound weird even if he's not trying to be be weird.

Brooklyn: Josh Grelle - Brookyln's intelligent and dare I say arrogant or pessimistic behavior can be done with Josh Grelle playing his more stoic, smartass, Kyle Herbert-esque voice acting. Can't really think of any other people to do Brooklyn either.

Striker: Vic Mignonga - Javelin, I hope you feel honored, because I've chosen my favorite voice actor to be your character. lol Vic Mignonga is the go to guy for casting either high pitched teenage characters or child-like adults. Striker is obviously the latter; Vic Mignogna can not only do him justice when he's happy but also when he wants to be serious, or even menacing as well.

Ghost: Johnny Yong Bosch - Like Bryce Papenbrook, this is a very easy yet wise choice to make, mostly due to his skill. Ghost's character and personality can be captured with ease with JYB doing his more happy sounding voicework that you don't really see him do too much.

Rei: Tara Strong- This one was too obvious. Tara Strong, aka The Woman Of 1000 Roles, voicing a bubbly, hyperactive little girl. There's no need to even go into description with this. Its a match made in heaven.

Zion: Colleen Clinkebeard - Another obvious choice. Also my favorite female voice actress, Oath, so be grateful. Anyway, Colleen Clinkebeard can play any woman who has an ounce of assertiveness, authority, or even asinine... ness... uh, anyways, yeah, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Zion, great match, moving on.

Raidyn: Jason Griffth - Now for my characters, starting with Raidyn; I chose Jason Griffth just because I feel he can emulate Raidyn's postivity and cockiness the best. If you haven't guessed, I might have hinted at this in the actual RP itself. Don't know how? Just re-read a few things, you might get it. lol

Toshi: Stephanie Sheh - Toshi's was obvious; Stephanie Sheh is a master of playing timid, shy, and polite girls. Also, I kinda based Toshi off a character that Sheh plays anyway so... yeah... heh.

Lucas: Mona Marshall - Luca's behavior that can go from calm and to loud and determined is something that Mona Marshall can capture and has captured for many years now. Another great match.

Nexus (Annistha): Kate Higgins - For the female Nexus's personality, Kate Higgins can portray Annistha's sweet nature to a T and can also double up when she needs to be fierce or angry or any other type of emotion to that nature.

Nexus (Zale): Yuri Lowenthal - For the dude side of Nexus, Yuri Lowenthal can easily play him, due to his cocky, smart-ass like nature. Also I couldn't help but pair him with Annistha's voice actress for semi-obvious reasons. lol

Ember: Mae Whitman - This one was a lazy choice on my part; I couldn't see Ember being voiced by anyone else other than the same woman who voiced her mom. xD

Joel: Tom Gibis - Perfect match for Joel. No contest. Tom Gibis is THE voice for lazy, laid-back teenagers if you ask me.

At this rate, we might as well just say any male character I make would be voiced by Papenbrook. xD

Just a quick note: Brooklyn is suppose to have a very deep, alluring voice. Calm, collected, and outright so subtle that he could, in theory, persuade anyone to do anything, if he so wanted, but with a slight roughness to it that only comes out with some words. The closest thing that comes to mind is Robbert Tinkler(Main reason is that Brooklyn's appearance and name is very heavily inspired by Brooklyn Masefield from the original Beyblade series, reasons for my choice of this come down to I mainly I liked the hairstyle and I didn't have a character with a crazy hair color and blue eyes, and a few personal reasons I don't wish to share right now). Josh Grelle Is a close fit, but his voice isn't very pleasant to the ear and lacks the slight ruff sound that it should have. Cool, calm, collected, but slightly forceful and pleasant to the ear is what he has. He sounds very coy, and almost mocking at times, even when he speaks, but he never changes his tone, it's just in the way he talks.

...Zion voices by the VA of Erza Scarlet....Of....Firaga <3

And Rei...kinda......okay I cant brushit off.

REI IS VOICED BY TWILIGHT SPARKLE/TIMMY TURNER. FEAR REI DE WYNTER.

Josh Grelle can be deep and alluring if he wants to. And his voice is like butter on the ears. I think you need to look more into his work.

I've heard his voice in a few different clips of things I've seen via youtube. Like I said, close, but not enough.

Yeah well, Robert Tinkler sounds like too much of a prick for my tastes. Your Brooklyn is supposed to be smart and all I hear from Tinkler is a douchebag. Grelle has enough range to supply intelligence as well as a cocky side.

Exactly! Also, just to point out, Tinkler doesn't really strike me due to his resume. His most notable roles from what I'm researching are... Grumpy Bear from a couple of Care Bear movies... Howie from Almost Naked Animals... and most recently, Buddy from The Nut Job... huh...

*Nods approvingly*

I think Yuri and Kate could do quite well as the Nexus Twins. Good picks, Firaga.

I just like his voice, I'm not one to judge on the resume so much. I just like the sound he has.

I like it too, but I think Josh Grelle would suit your character better. I need more than "just the voice sounding good", I need skills and connections with the character.

I have no idea who those VA's are but... Thanks nonetheless? xD

Now if we could just advance the main RP, that would be nice. I got some more character building to do so... yeah... xD
