You never know until you try. If you feel your skills are good enough give it a try.

I'm going to tell you this as a tourney vet, unless your overprepared and practiced a hell lot more then your going to get creamed. But you have to break into tourneys somehow, so why not?

Do it. Join it. My friend became a regionally recognized Yu-gi-oh player by going against people better than him at tournaments and losing a lot at first. Then he restructured his deck, developed his skills and eventually started winning.

You're not gonna get any better by going against n00bs and those who don't know what they're doing. Go there, and see what you're capable of. If you can win, great! If not, use it as a learning experience to get better and secure future prizes.

Do it anyways. Have fun first, then care about winning.

If there is no entry fee, just go and have fun. If there is an entry fee, think about it as paying to play laser tag, minigolf, and what ever other game like activities you pay to do.

And like Javelin said, if you want to get better, you kind of have to play in tournaments. Or at least against people better than you and learn from them.

Well, not like there's anything to lose, right? After all, the experience will help you improve and become as good as those others in the tournament. You won't get to their level until you learn more strategies by playing with them.
